This was June-July 2000, so Dan was almost 11 and Rupert nearly 12.

Now these were some good times back in the day when the movie first came out. I seen it a bunch of times and it never got old.

I don't know about being cute or adorable, being a guy, but it's cool to see that they went off together to get to know each other a little more, it makes them seem like they are best friends, in a sense that they are good friends, in real life, best friends in the movie.
