Even if it is true though with Rupert and Dan...this happens with alot of people after spending a great deal of time together. Anybody who has graduated from school can attest to this. I'm sure they like each other and consider the other a lifelong friend due to all they have experienced together but their lives are going in different directions right now.
right
but one of the main reasons why a lot (NOT all' some last till people die) is that they lose the things they have in common.
I would definitely think rupert, dan and emma have enough common experiences to stay friends for a lifetime, even if At Times it's hard to keep in contact because of their work. and even if they loose contact that doesn't mean that years down the line they cant meet up again and make their friendship stronger.

It's not because of what the fans want or not (personally I usually facepalm really hard at that whole real life vs fiction obsession some fans have- such as for example some fans being obsessed with erroneously thinking that emma and rupert are going to get married down the line- which i find ludicrous, worrisome and relatively disrespectful)
HOWEVER, that's not the issue here. the issue here, and the one that DOES MATTER is that it has been show time and time again in interviews or behind the scenes that Dan, Emma and Rupert do care for each other very, very much.
and, as none of them seem the kind to fake or be false in front of cameras- quite the opposite, based on evidence given by them directly it is a fact they get along pretty well. maybe not Bestest friends ever, but they are close.
now, against All actual evidence given by the actor themselves on the 10 years they known each other, here comes this random article of a well known as TABLOID newspaper- claiming the exact opposite.
What BOTHERS the people complaining about the article is not wether or not is true (and as I have shown it is most likely the article to be completely false) is that A. the mirror would sink so low as to try to stir drama with something so vile. and B. that Some people are putting More stock on a single article of a piece of crap newspaper than on the actor's actual opinions shown in the past.
THAT'S WHAT'S ANNOYING.

of course they are not obliged to be friends. the same way rupert and emma, or david thewlis and natalia tena are not obliged to date just because their characters get together in books-movies.
BUT the actors themselves have demostrated that they esteem each other very much and consider the other a very important person to have in their lives. (go no further than the speech dan gave on the last day- or the fact the people he went to hug were in fact rupert and emma.)
and what's bad is that, wether or not the actors are BFF or not, that's their business and it's rather vile and disgusting for a well known tabloid for claiming otherwise for the sake of readership and stirring non-existing drama.
