Daniel Radcliffe donates signed books to memorial fund
 

Daniel Radcliffe recently donated signed Harry Potter books to the Katie Hart-Greenfield Memorial Fund, established after the 15 year old died of a brain tumour last year. Dan had previously met Katie and had even written a tribute for her funeral. The auction took place at a charity cricket match, to raise funds for the Little Havens Hospice, where she spent her last days and the Danbury Mission Evangelical Church, which she attended.

The match took place in Chelmsford, England, last weekend. Altogether, £1,200 was raised.

That was extremely generous of him! So so sad when a child dies.

I am constantly amazed at the maturity and generosity of the young actors associated with Harry Potter. This one by Daniel is yet another of those actions. Here in the states, so many young actors who get early fame turn into real brats who are so self-serving it makes one ill. Daniel, Emma, Rupert, Bonnie, Matthew, Tom, the twins and Evanna come across as real and seem so willing to share their time with so many. I'm hoping Emma can disappear into her schoolwork, where ever it turns out to be, and not be inundated by parasites hoping to latch onto her "star".:glomp:

I agree with an earlier post. All the Potter stars are so willing to help people, and it's a nice change to see. Even though Potter fans are probably some of the only ones who see it. American stars should take a leaf out of one of their books. Dan especially, supports anything he feels strongly about, and it's a nice change to see in a celebrity.
