Daniel Radcliffe confirmed for mini-series A Young Doctor's Notebook, Pinocchio rumor
Rumours surfaced last week that Daniel Radcliffe might star in a Russian Revolution era-hospital comedy drama for Sky Arts, and now Variety has confirmed that he and Mad Men star Jon Hamm will headline the four-part mini-series A Young Doctor's Notebook. The pair feature in "A Young Doctor's Notebook," a four-part skein inspired by a collection of short stories by Russian writer and playwright Mikhail Bulgakov set during the Russian Revolution.
Hamm takes the role of the older doctor, who has a series of bleakly comic exchanges with his younger self, portrayed by Radcliffe.
| The character will be British, as Hamm commented that he is currently working on his English accent; Dan had this to say about taking on the project, which at present has no start date: Quote:
Daniel Radcliffe: I have been an obsessive Bulgakov reader for a couple of years now so when the opportunity to become involved in this project came up, I could barely contain my excitement.
"The book is funny, grotesque and heartfelt in equal measure and I look forward to working with a great group of people to help bring it to life.
| Additionally, Indie Wire is reporting that Dan approached director Guillermo Del Toro to do voice-work for his stop-motion animated film adaptation of Pinocchio. Currently no deals have been made regarding the project, but we will update as soon as more information is released for both projects. Quote:
According to the "Pan's Labyrinth" filmmaker, he was approached by Daniel Radcliffe, who's keen to get involved on the project, and the actor is one of a number of names that he hopes might become involved, including Tom Waits, and Christopher Walken, who Del Toro wants to play the fox.
