Dan Radcliffe named Broadway.com's Star of the Year

Actor Daniel Radcliffe has been named Broadway.com's Star of the Year for his work in Equus. Upon receiving the prestigious accolades, Dan had this to say:

“That’s really, really amazing! The Broadway community has been incredibly welcoming and this sort of sums it up, really. In a year when there have been some really big performances on Broadway, to have been nominated and win is really, really cool!”

Radcliffe also offered a special message to the fans who voted for him: “Thank you very much, you guys! I can always count on you. The fans are awesome.” As for how being named Star of the Year will change his life, Radcliffe quipped, “I think I’ll spend a lot more time with the editors of Broadway.com!”

Dan also lists a few of his favourite things of 2008 and from living in New York, including his New Year's resolution:

That's fantastic news. Thanks for letting all of us know. From my experience, Dan was totally awesome in Equus. As I've said many times in this forum, I think he's going to be nominated for a Tony and hope that he WINS! Remember, you heard it here first! Congrats, Dan, you deserve it!
