I'd love to go to a convention like this...unfortunatley, that would require buying a plane ticket. |
More information please! This is really interesting. I mean, my mom reads Harry Potter. I just wonder if the adults at this convention are as obsessed as we are!! Lib |
We're considering making the conference proceedings (a compilation of the papers presented at the conference) available to non-attendees after the conference - please stay tuned to the Convention Alley website for the latest information. We'll also try to upload photos of the conference to the website. In terms of more information: The conference is sponsored by the Harry Potter for Grown-Ups Yahoo group and will feature programming sessions by fans from both the academic and non-academic worlds; a keynote address by Harry Potter Lexicon creator Steve Vander Ark; a banquet in honor of Harry's birthday on July 31 including cake and ice cream; a vendor marketplace; a games room; and a screening of the new PoA movie. The website has lots of information (including the schedule of events for the weekend and a list of the programming sessions) - if there is anything you'd like to know that isn't answered on the website, please feel free to e-mail us at: hpottawa@yahoo.no, or post a note on the website forum or on the HPfGU Convention List. ~Phyllis Morris 2004 Convention Alley Planning Committee |

Sounds cool, but I'm in the UK anyway, so I think I may have to pass, the ice-cream does sound tempting though. |
