| | |  Bonnie Wright to judge Made-By t-shirt competition (UPDATED)
Made-By, a label that aims to produce sustainable fashion, have announced a t-shirt designing competition for which Bonnie Wright will be one of the judges. In association with Edun, a label with a similar mission, young designers will be able to submit their ideas for sustainability themed t-shirts, for the brand.
Designs can be uploaded to the Made-By website from October 1st. The decision will be down to both a public vote and the panel of judges. The top ten voted on designs will have a winner picked from amongst them, by the judges. Quote:
“As the consumer becomes more aware of the social and environmental issues involved in the fashion industry brands are having to address their supply chains to accommodate these expectations. Young designers are the future of our industry and it is important to engage the next generation.” Says Allanna McAspurn – UK General Manager of MADE-BY.
The winning design will be presented on December 16th at the Krasnapolsky hotel in Amsterdam and will be sold via selected retailers, with profits benefitting the Conservation Cotton Initiative (CCI). Quote:
“It is vital that my generation understand the importance of ethical fashion, so anything we can do to raise awareness of this cause is extremely worthwhile. I am looking forward to seeing the variety of designs. The sustainable theme certainly offers scope for some creativity,” says Bonnie Wright, who, along with her Harry Potter co-star Emma Watson, is an avid supporter of the sustainable fashion movement.
UPDATE: Entries can be submitted here. Gift certificates, worth several hundred dollars, will be provided for the winner and runners-up. The competition closes on Halloweeen.

That's cool, I hope the designers incorporate the 'green theme' into their designs ... I don't know that social issues would make for good fashion  but it's enough that they stand for that. I mean who's going to complain about a cute cuddly polar bear on their shirt? Underpaid child labor on a shirt ... not so much.
It's cool that there are more responsible companies popping up like this ...
