Barnes & Noble Quarterly Profit Gets a Lift from Harry Potter Barnes & Noble, who are the world's largest book retailing chain, posted their quarterly profit on Thursday. The figure posted was for the profit in the fiscal second quarter which ended on the 4th of August. Their quarterly profit rose to $18.1 million (26 cents per share) this year as opposed to last year's $16.6 million (24 cents per share). Barnes & Noble claim that it was the sale of the final installation of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which drove their sales up. Source: Yahoo News |
