The Epilogue Was it all you hoped it would be? Too much? Not enough? I know we're all going to have opinions on this, so go ahead and share yours. :) Please, remember the RULES while you post and reply to other's comments. |
I enjoyed it, my friend, on the other hand, thought it was too perfect. |
really candy-sweet, though I think if it was written so much time ago, it had to be something we least expected... my opinion on the double name... it's OK, people  I loved it, and Draco's son's name too, I still didn't get who the spouse was, but it doesn't really matter was the phrase "All was well" the definite ending Jo was talking about? I mean, it is clear to me that if there's no more scar pain, there's nothing to worry about, so there's no conflict the point was to prove that Houses can cooperate, that love will defeat everything and that there is much more in some characters than we thought :) so this part was shockingly surprising, but I loved it |
Actually I was shocked when I read it...I didn't expect it but in Fanfictions...Albus Severus..COOOOOOOOOOOOOOl |

Then again, it's still a book for children so for the opposite ending to what was in the book to happen, it's abit gruesome I guess. It's kinda cliche but Jo did manage to drive home a point about morality. =) I liked the book! I wished she had added in what happened to the Dursleys though! Who was the person who managed to do magic in late life? Um...does it mean Petunia was a witch too? |
I thought it was weird. It was like perfect alternate reality. There's no way everything would have been that great. I hated it. THough its really creepy, Almost all the shippings and kids names were almost all in a fanfic I wrote post-HBP. Except the Ted-Victoire thing and Hugo, I called him Richard. |
I loved it! I loved how it showed Draco was still alive. Being a HUGE Draco fan, that pleased me the most. I thought it was a sweet ending. But it kinda leaves me hanging... |
I was super-happy that Ted Lupin got a mention, AND A GIRLFRIEND!!!! I just hope he spends more time with Victoire than Remus did with Tonks *wails even more* |
It was very sweet. I'm sorry but Draco's sons name is Priceless...Scorpious XD! I love it! But everyone knew that Harry and Ginny's kids...well two of them would be called James and Lily...but Maybe its James Sirius Potter. But ehm Yeah Albus Severus...[Tear] Soo sad. |
i didnt like it at all and i dont know why. i felt it was distant to the story i know it was to show that they lived happy and life moved on but still woul have prefered how things got back to normal after! was the only thing i didnt like about the book |

Anyway, I loved the epilogue, I really did. Especially the whole scene when James was talking about the snogging thing  And Albus talking to Harry about being put in Slytherin. That was just beautiful. I'm just sad there's no Sirius or Remus in the family XD |
Well, I thought it was veeeeery cliche to have them leave at Kings Cross, but what are ya gonna do. Albus Severus was awesome, finally Harry shows Snape a kind of respect, and Scorpios. You can't not laugh, can you? |

But anyways the epilogue, I dint know would be there, but then I'd read that major spoiler *epilogue part* two days back..... *long story....:(* but yes it was surprising to see it, and to think of it now I'd never have thought Harry'd have three kids...... But I loved it when Harry said to lil Albus Severus, about Snape being one of the bravest teachers at Hogwarts.Yes thats got to be the best line for me in the epilogue, or possibly in whole of the DH. |
After all the bathblood we've endured before, the epilogue was the perfect way to finish the story. A 'pink' ending to relax and say goodbye. But I would have preferred a more detailed account! I'd love to know more about the reorganization of the magic world after Voldemort and what happened to so many beloved characters. |
I think it was a nice ending to the final book: it tied up the few loose ends left at the end of "The Flaw In The Plan" and just tell us how things were to pan out. I think that it was the perfect ending. |
I didn't like the epilogue at all, honestly. Especially for someone who felt like the H/G hadn't been vindicated, I would've loved a scene with Harry and Ginny where I could've been convinced. It still feels like whambam to me. I felt that the epilogue was too sugary sweet and too tied up. I did enjoy the Albus Severus part, I admit (I love Dumbledore and Snape, but really. Albus Severus. Poor kid) but I think a scene where they slowly rebuild their lives, or just doing without the epilogue at all would've been brilliant. |
I'm completely undecided about this. I really am. It was so short, there is so much else that she could have said, and then what she did to those children...giving them the names of the dead. I find that creepy and unfair on the children, having an over hanging shadow of who they are named after. Sure, it was pure love but the entire epilogue was...too perfect. A disappointment. |
The Epilogue was, of course, how we all want to see the quad...happily married with children, finally living in a world free from the ever-present shadow of Voldemort above their heads. It kind of felt like it came from a fan fic though. It was interesting to see what names JKR gave to the children, and how Ron, Hermione, Harry and Ginny interacted with their children. I'm not so sure it really fit with the rest of the book though. Don't get me wrong, I loved it to pieces! However I do agree with it being a little too short and fast. I would have preferred a scene between Harry and Ginny, and Ron and Hermione just after the defeat of Voldemort. Just to show us how they got together after the battle and what their emotions/feelings were about the whole ordeal. I guess there did have to be a limit...it had to end sometime! I do so love the book though... |
To be honest, Icouldn't bring myself to read the entire Epilogue yet, but stopped after the first 2 pages. It seems surreal and way to cheesy for my liking. |
I won't lie, all the new characters and who's children they were, that was entirely too confusing. I did like Albus, though. He was so cute. And what are the odds that James Potter II is just like James Potter the first, incarnate? I was glad for an epilogue, though. She could've picked a better setting though. Like Harry and Ginny's wedding, or Ron and Hermione's. That would've been a laugh. |
*wails and sobs like anything* i'll come afterwards when i have lived the emotions again |
This confused me at first and I had to go back and read it over because I was confused. When, I read it again though I thought it was wonderful. I really did because I thought it was a great way to end the book. I loved Hermione and Ron's kids names the most as I thought they were adorable. I did love their names though especially Albus Severus as that was too cute! This was a great way to end the books for me. |
It was "aite". I loved Albus and the fact that thy gave him Snape's name! He was obviously the most special out of the 3 children. I also loved when Ron said he was extremely famous, that made me laugh! But it was extremely short, J.K could have added more to it. The last sentence? "All was well"? How cheesy could that be? She could have just ended it with the fact that his scar had stopped hurting after 19 years! Also it was a little too perfect, I know JK wrote the epilouge ages ago and it was to always turn out like that but still, talk about a happily ever after in a fairy tale book. You'd think she'd make it more realistic at least... |
I love the fact that Harry's son has a double name i think it shows who Harry really loved in the end. Who he truly believed in. I am so happy that he had three kids it was more that amazing. I think ron and hermione was perfect and that the fact that they name their son hugo is insane. I too did not know who victorie was but fleur and bill's make's sence and then the fact that she was with ted makes even more sence becuase of the whole werewolf thing. I am soo glad that neville works at hogwarts. I think it was his true calling thing. i am also glad that they through a little draco in there. I agree that it was extremley short, i was hopping for a little more on some other characters, Luna, neville, pansy, the death eaters, george, percy, and all of them. But i cried as i read the last sentence. |
