| | When does the term begin/end? | | Unlike the Hogwarts and Ministry RPGs, Diagon Alley doesn't have a term start or end date. It is always open to wizardkind! | | When are students allowed to be played in Diagon Alley? | | Students that are old enough to attend Hogwarts (or another wizarding school) are allowed to be played in Diagon Alley during IC summers (April 12th - April 30th, August 12th - August 31st, and December 12th - December 31st). | | What happens if I miss the IC summer? | Don't worry if you are unable to post in Diagon Alley during the IC summer. You can always pretend that your student character, who will now be away at school, did all of the required school shopping (or, if you want to make things interesting for them at school, maybe they didn't!).
Remember that you can always continue playing in Diagon Alley with your Ministry characters or any other characters that you would like to have roaming around and shopping. | | Who are the Diagon Alley proprietors? | | The Diagon Alley proprietors are played by selected site members. They can be identified either with an italicised, coloured Username and/or a proprietor icon in their profile. | | How do I become a proprietor? | | You are invited to become a proprietor by the Diagon Alley RPG Admin. We do not advertise open positions, and you cannot apply to become a proprietor. If you are interested in becoming a proprietor, the best way to improve your chances of being asked are to be polite and helpful to others on and off SS, use good grammar, and frequently role-play around Diagon Alley. | | How can I get involved? | | To become involved in Diagon Alley, just have your characters take an active interest in the goings on there. There are a wide array of shops for them to spend their Galleons, proprietors and shop employees to interact with, and many nooks and crannies to be discovered. From time to time, there are events and plots that take place in Diagon Alley, some of which will lead to other happenings and/or carry over into the Hogwarts or Ministry RPGs. | | Can I role-play more than one character? | | You can role-play as many characters as you like in Diagon Alley as long as you can keep up with them. It is strongly encouraged that you have them listed in your profile and differentiate characters while posting with different colours, fonts, etc. | | Are there restrictions on what my character can be like? | There are no restrictions on what your character can be like, but keep in mind the age of your character, whether or not it is IC summer, and that the SSRPG takes place after Harry and gang have graduated. Students old enough to attend Hogwarts (or another wizarding school) should only be posted in Diagon Alley during the IC summer; other characters (young children, university students, adults, etc.) are welcome any time. As for characters with special abilities (e.g., Animagus, Metamorphmagus, werewolf), we ask that you be realistic and know that there may be IC repercussions if the special ability is abused.
If you are not sure what is or isn't allowed, simply ask the Diagon Alley RPG Admin by PM. | | Can I change my character during the term? | | You may change characters any time you like in Diagon Alley. It is encouraged, though, that your role-playing with a different character is wrapped up out of common courtesy unless you are playing multiple characters in different places. | | Will I get in trouble for viewing other shops/private areas? | | Of course not! In fact, we encourage you (the out of character you) to view these areas as they will help you (the out of character you) figure out what is going on in Diagon Alley. However, (and we can't stress this enough) you must remember that just because you (the out of character you) have access to this information, your character would not necessarily have access or be aware of what is going on. | | What do I do if I have a problem with another alley visitor? | | If you have a problem with another alley visitor, please don't argue or fight with them publically. PM a proprietor or SSRPG Admin about your problem and allow them to deal with it. Arguments and the like are cause for punishment from Magical Law Enforcement and/or banishing from the alley if it is an IC issue; if an OOC issue, site warnings, infractions, and/or banning may occur. | | What do I do if I have a problem with a proprietor? | | If you are having issues with a particular proprietor, please PM the SSRPG Admin immediately. | | What if I can't find an answer to my question? | You may ask any IC questions you may have related to Diagon Alley in any areas of the Diagon Alley RPG, wherever and whomever makes the most sense for your IC questions to be asked and answered.
Any OOC questions or concerns you may have regarding the Diagon Alley RPG should be directly PMed to the SSRPG Admin or the appropriate proprietor. | All times are GMT. The time now is 10:32 AM. |
