They hadn't even stood up when guards descended. Spears leveled, armour clinked, voices barked in a dialect laced with suspicion. Within moments, Harry, Ron, and Hermione were surrounded.

"We're not enemies," Harry tried, but he was met with narrowed eyes.

"Take them to the Keep."

They were yanked from behind a merchant's cart and marched through red stone halls that reeked of incense and old secrets. Hermione's gaze darted everywhere—banners of a lion on crimson, royal tapestries, and shadows that watched too closely.

They were brought before Cersei Lannister herself, seated in cruel elegance upon the Iron Throne.

"She doesn't look like she'd enjoy a chat," Harry whispered.

Ron snorted. "Doesn't look like she'd enjoy anything."

"Foreigners," Cersei commented, her voice sharp as steel. "Such strange clothes. And bearing an object that pulses with... magic?" She gestured toward the amulet now hanging from Ron's neck.

The Hand tilted his head. "Perhaps they're spies. Or mummers."

"They're not from any kingdom I know," she mused. "Still, they'll play their parts. All players serve the crown eventually."

A shadow passed over the sun.

Somewhere nearby, a dragon roared.

Hermione swallowed. "This just got worse."

Ron struck the amulet in a frantic frenzy.

3. Ring

Suddenly, the world twisted sideways.

They were falling again.

But this time, they landed on soft grass, beneath trees that smelled of pine. Elegant arches rose around them, carved with ancient script. Music, harps and haunting voices, drifted on the air. The amulet pulsed once, then dulled.

Hermione sat up first. "Elvish," she whispered, breathless.

Footsteps approached.

A tall man in robes stood before them, dark hair swept back, eyes ageless and sharp. "You do not belong here," Elrond said.

"That's an understatement," Ron muttered, brushing leaves from his jumper.

Harry stepped forward. "We came by accident. We mean no harm."

Before Elrond could reply, a rustle of robes signaled another figure—short, wiry, clutching something to his chest: a small gold ring.

The room fell silent.

Frodo Baggins looked at them, wary. "That amulet—it carries a weight. Not unlike the One Ring."

"Rings, amulets... is everything cursed now?" Ron groaned.

The trio crashed to the ground in a flurry of snow and soot.

Harry was the first to scramble to his feet.

They stood atop a broken rooftop, overlooking a city torn between twilight and something far darker. Beyond the skyline, a roiling sea of shadow churned like ink in water—alive, hungry, stretching endlessly toward the horizon.

"The volcra are coming!" a man shouted.

Beneath them, a Grisha patrol darted down an alley. Soldiers shouted, not at them, but at something else. From the gloom, creatures of wings and talons poured forth, shrieking.

"Stay close," sounded the steady voice of Alina Starkov. "Or the Fold will devour you."

Unexpectedly, a streak of light arced through the sky—sunlight, impossibly controlled, forming a blade. The girl in black and gold stood on a nearby rooftop, hands aglow, as shadow recoiled from her.

"She's like a Patronus," Harry uttered, eyes wide.

"No," Hermione replied. "It's like she's summoning the sun."

The amulet thrummed violently, reacting to the opposing forces of light and dark. The shadow surged toward them.

Ron grabbed the others. "Hold on. I think the amulet's going—"

And the world dissolved into black.

5. Quest

They hit the ground harder this time. The scent of cedar and ash filled the air. They were on a dirt path flanked by twisted trees, their leaves dark as ink. In the distance, mountains loomed like jagged teeth.

Hermione turned in a slow circle. "The magic here is... wild. Untamed. Older than Hogwarts. Older than anything I've ever—"

Before she could finish, hoofbeats approached. A boy on horseback reined in, his blade drawn. His ears were faintly pointed.

"You're not demons," he said at last. "Good. We need all the help we can get."

"Help?" Ron echoed. "We are the ones who're lost."

He dismounted. "And now you're found. I'm Wil. The Ellcrys is dying. Demons are attacking Arborlon. You're part of this quest now—like it or not."

Harry's brow furrowed. "The Ellcrys?"

"Surely you've heard of—"

The amulet pulsed again, which didn't go unnoticed. "That thing's not safe. Magic like that draws demons."

As if on cue, the ground trembled. A guttural growl echoed through the trees.

Harry took a defensive stance, but he and his friends were whisked away yet again.

Harry scanned the area. "This doesn't feel... magical. At least, not like before."

"Actually," Hermione whispered, eyes narrowing, "it is. But it's twisted. Like a curse that's taken root and rotted."

Footsteps echoed. A man rounded the corner—tall, flannel-shirted, with a weapon slung over one shoulder.

"Whoa," he said, freezing. "What are kids doing here?"

Two followed, one with long hair and the other wearing a trench coat. "They're not Leviathan. Or demon. I think."

"Uh, hi?" Harry offered.

"Sam Winchester. This is Cas. And that's Dean."

Dean eyed the amulet. "Whatever brought you here, it's glowing like hellfire. And that means trouble."

A crash resounded from the next room.

"We've been tracking a shapeshifter. Nasty thing likes to wear other people's faces. Hope none of you are faking it."

Ron paled. "You mean... someone pretending to be someone else?"

Suddenly, another Hermione stepped into view—blood on her hands, smiling coldly.

"RUN!" the real Hermione shouted.

The amulet flared furiously as the false one lunged.

"Please tell me we're not being hunted again," Ron groaned, brushing off a beetle.

"No... this place feels different," Hermione murmured, standing slowly. "Peaceful."

"It's too quiet," Harry said, narrowing his eyes.

Then came the crunch of leaves. A boy stepped into the meadow, pale skin glittering in the sun like powdered crystal. His bronze hair caught the light.

Ron blinked. "Wait a minute... is that—Cedric?"

Harry squinted. "Cedric who sparkles?"

Hermione smacked both their arms. "Not the time!"

"You shouldn't be here," said Edward Cullen, his voice low, musical, and mildly threatening.

Another figure appeared—lithe, graceful, smiling too pleasantly.

"You shouldn't be here," Alice said, her golden eyes locked on Ron's neck. "That amulet... it doesn't belong here in Forks."

Edward stepped forward, every muscle taut. "Take it and go. Before others catch your scent."

"Others?" Ron gulped.

From the forest came a howl.

"It's Rapunzel's tower," Hermione breathed.

"Mother? Is that you?" sounded a tentative voice.

"Is it... alive?" Ron nudged it with his foot.

"It's enchanted. Her hair is magic."

"Oi, look!" Harry pointed upward.

A pale face was leaning out of the high window. "You're not Mother," Rapunzel called down.

"No," Hermione replied quickly, "and we're not here to hurt you!"

Harry stepped forward. "The amulet brought us."

At the word amulet, it pulsed again—and Rapunzel's hair lifted, drawn toward it like a magnet.

Then it glowed, causing the tower to disappear.

9. Healing

They hit the snow hard.

Ron yelped as he slid down a sloped embankment, flailing until he crashed into a snowbank.

Harry helped Hermione up. "We're near water... salt air. A coastline?"

They stood in a wide bay of slushy ice and packed snow, the cold biting straight through their clothes. Structures made of ice dotted the shoreline, smoke rising from narrow chimneys.

Men in blue coats trimmed with fur approached, spears raised—but a voice stopped them.

"They're not Fire Nation," a boy claimed, running forward. His shaved head and arrow tattoos were visible.

"Get back inside, Aang!"

Aang smiled. "You're not from this world."

A girl stepped forward, her hands glowing with soft blue light. "I'm Katara," she spoke kindly. "You look hurt."

Ron flinched as she gently touched his scraped arm, but a warm sensation swept through him—the cut closed before his eyes.

"Healing water magic," Hermione whispered, awestruck.

"That amulet you're carrying," Aang observed, "it carries great energy. But it's unstable."

As if to confirm, the amulet pulsed—wild and bright.

"Wait," Katara said. "It's—"

Too late. A wave surged, the ice cracked, and the world shifted and ebbed away.

As they vanished, Ron clutched his healed arm.

They landed with a jarring thud on packed earth, the clang of metal echoing nearby. Smoke rose in lazy spirals from an open forge, glowing with the orange heat of dragon fire.

A black-scaled dragon swooped overhead, wings slicing the sky. It landed beside a gangly boy holding a hammer and a set of goggles pushed up into messy brown hair.

"Toothless," the boy called. "Easy, bud."

The dragon sniffed curiously at Ron, who squeaked. It glowed faintly—its light reflecting in the dragon's green eyes.

The boy tilted his head. "You're not from around here, are you?"

"We're... travellers," Hermione said quickly.

"Well, I'm Hiccup. And that thing around your neck? Looks like it's made from the same alloy Gobber uses for dragon armour."

The amulet pulsed, brighter than before.

Hiccup stepped closer. "That thing... it's resonating with Toothless' plasma blasts. Like it's absorbing kinetic energy."

"Is that safe?" Harry asked.

"Toothless?" Hiccup called.

The dragon raised his head, ears twitching.

Suddenly, sparks shot upward, fire danced unnaturally, and the amulet lit up.

"Oh no," Harry muttered.

Pulled from the spot mid-flare, they were gone again.

They tumbled through time and wind, landing face-first in dirt and spilled liquid that was not Butterbeer.

"Ugh! Gross!" Ron pushed himself up.

They were in a smoky tavern, wood beams sagging overhead. Mismatched chairs and rowdy patrons filled the space. A minstrel's voice drifted above the din, clear and theatrical.

"Toss a coin to your Witcher, O valley of plenty..."

All eyes turned to the stage, where a flamboyantly dressed bard plucked his lute with flair, his doublet stitched in far too many colours. He twirled and bowed dramatically, then winked directly at Hermione.

"Ah! Fresh faces! You've brought mystery with you!"

The bard leapt down and approached. "Jaskier, at your service. You're not locals—unless Novigrad's fashion has taken a very odd turn."

The trio blinked.

Jaskier grinned. "Timid fellows, eh? Your amulet there—oh, that's humming in a key even I don't know."

Before Harry could ask, the tavern door slammed open.

A pale woman with violet eyes and a dangerous air strode in.

"Where's Geralt?"

"Well, this just got a bit complicated," Jaskier muttered, paling before letting out a nervous laugh. "Yennefer! What a surprise. Geralt? Knowing him, he's likely off brooding somewhere..."

The amulet flared once more.

"Any guesses on where we're at now?" Ron sighed.

Harry reached for the heavy iron door, but it opened on its own. A girl with red hair and fierce eyes stepped out, clutching a stele.

"You're not mundanes," Clary Fairchild determined slowly. "But you're not Downworlders either."

Behind her, a slightly older boy with golden eyes narrowed. "And that amulet," Jace Herondale pointed to Ron's neck, "is bleeding power. It's something I'm not familiar with. I suspect it is quite dangerous if in the wrong hands."

The amulet shimmered.

Suddenly, the building trembled. Symbols carved into the walls glowed white-hot.

"That's not supposed to happen," Clary asserted.

Ron took a step back. "Why do I feel like we've just activated a magical alarm system?"

"Not everything has to be threatening or deadly," replied Hermione, stepping forward. "Look."

Carved into a large boulder nearby was the image of a golden triangle: three interlocking pieces forming a single, radiant symbol.

"Looks like something straight out of a legend," Ron commented, shrugging his shoulders.

"Hey! Listen!"

A soft rustle made them turn.

He emerged from behind a set of bushes and trees—a boy in green, sword at his back, a fairy glowing faintly near his shoulder. His blue eyes were steady, wise beyond his years.

Link silently nodded once and pointed to the amulet. He was fascinated.

The fairy, her voice chiming like bells, stated, "It carries echoes of great power."

The Master Sword at Link's back pulsed faintly in response.

Unexpectedly, a monstrous, blood-curdling shriek rang out. It was Ganondorf.

But this particular venture was one that the trio would not be continuing. The amulet gleamed.

Harry stumbled forward, feeling something prickly as his footsteps began to crunch beneath him, until they were in a snow-drenched forest. Pine trees sparkled with frost. The sky was pale silver.

A lone lamp-post glowed ahead of them.

From the trees emerged a Faun, bundled in a red scarf, parcels under his arm. He froze.

"You're not Pevensies," he said hesitantly. "But you came through the wardrobe?"

"We didn't mean to," Harry replied.

Ron held up the amulet. "This thing keeps tossing us places."

The Faun's eyes widened. "You should not have brought that here. Not while the Witch still rules."

A sudden chill passed over the forest. Bells jingled faintly in the distance.

"She's coming," whispered the Faun. "Run."

They turned, but were uncertain of which way to go.

Only the wind howled now, and the amulet pulsed as a sledge carrying a woman in white fur swept into view.

"Maybe there's something here that can help us," Harry suggested.

A single book hovered in the air before them, bound in leather and ornamented with golden hasps and pins. Its pages were open.

"A grimoire!"

Suddenly, the shadows shifted—and a voice, sharp and curious, sounded.

"Well, you're not from the Emerald City."

They turned.

A woman descended from a spiral staircase, clad in black, green skin luminous in the candlelight. She eyed them.

"The Wicked Witch of the West," breathed Hermione, awe mixing with caution. "You're... real."

"Define real," Elphaba replied coolly. Her gaze landed on the amulet. "That shouldn't be here."

"It keeps sending us places," Harry said. "We're not even sure how to stop it."

"I could help. The Grimmerie is more than just a spellbook. But, if it rewrites you, you won't get back," Elphaba warned.

The amulet glowed again.

"Wait!"

Elphaba reached for them, but they were already gone. Only pages fluttered in their wake.

Ron blinked. "You mean a maze?"

"Yes, mate," Harry muttered.

A rustling came from the hedges. A squat figure emerged, grumbling, armed with a sprayer of what smelled like rotten garlic.

"Sar—oh. You're not supposed to be here," he told them.

"We didn't exactly show up on purpose," said Harry.

Hermione stepped forward. "Can you help us through, Mister...?"

The dwarf—Hoggle, he grunted—hesitated. "Maybe. But the Labyrinth cheats. It lies. Nothing is what it seems."

A sudden squeaking flutter interrupted. A tiny fox-terrier knight atop a fluffy sheep-dog bounded toward them.

"Fear not! Sir Didymus shall escort you through trial and trickery!"

"I like this bloke," Ron chortled.

The walls rumbled, and the maze reconfigured itself.

From the distant castle, a haunting voice—smooth, musical, and amused—echoed:

"New guests? And I see they brought a gift. How delightful."

Before they could see the man whose voice they had heard or be swallowed whole by the maze itself, the amulet lit up.

A breeze swept through the trees as the trio scrambled upright. Tall pine trees surrounded them, but it wasn't the Forbidden Forest. In the distance, a shimmering lake, cabins of varying design, and a climbing wall that occasionally spewed lava came into view.

"Where... are we?" Harry asked.

"Camp Half-Blood," a voice said behind them.

They turned. A girl with a Yankees cap held in her hand eyed them curiously. "You're not demigods. But you are something.”

Stepping forward, she added, "I'm Annabeth Chase. And that thing around your neck? It's radiating like the Oracle just sneezed on it."

"The what?" Ron asked.

"Come on," Annabeth said. "You need to see her."

They were led to a creaking attic. Inside, a withered mummy sat in a rocking chair, green mist swirling from its mouth.

In a voice not hers, it intoned:

"The amulet breaks what time once sealed,
Through foreign hands, fate is revealed.
One must choose, one must fall,
Or none shall make it home at all."

"Incredibly helpful, that was," Ron commented sarcastically.

"Ronald," snapped Hermione.

The amulet flared violently before they could make sense of what had been heard.

They fell into a place of fire.

Flames licked the sky in waves of crimson and violet, the air dry as ash. They landed at the edge of a jagged, obsidian wasteland lit by rivers of lava and torches held by... things that had once been human.

"Are we where I think we are?" Harry whispered.

"This place has had many names," came a voice behind them. "Avernus, Gehenna, Tartarus, Hades, Abaddon, Sheol, The Pit."

A tall figure approached, robed in black, skin pale as bone. His eyes were galaxies. "I am Dream of the Endless."

Hermione gasped. "The Sandman."

Ron blinked. "That doesn't sound reassuring."

"You have wandered too close to Desire, Despair, and even Destruction. The Inferno you see is not just fire, but memory," Dream continued.

A sound like sobbing wind echoed through the ruins.

"You carry an amulet that fractures time and space. It has drawn the attention of Lucifer. You cannot remain here."

Hermione swallowed. "Can you help us?"

"No. But I can show you where you will go next."

The sky split, and behind it was another realm, waiting.

The amulet pulsed before they were gone. Only ash remained, drifting where they had stood.

19. Armour

They landed in a forest clearing, the scent of pine sharp and heavy. Smoke curled in the distance, accompanied by the clang of hammer on metal.

Above them, a sapphire-scaled dragon soared between the trees, its wings vast and graceful. A rider leaned low over its back, sword glinting at his side.

Eragon dismounted as the dragon landed, his expression wary. "You wear magic that is rare in this land," he said, eyeing the amulet.

"It's... sort of a travel problem really," Harry explained.

The dragon—Saphira—lowered her head to Ron. That pendant hums with the Ancient Language, she spoke into their minds. It disrupts the balance.

Behind them, dwarves emerged from the trees, carrying ornate sets of dwarven-forged armour. One set, untouched, shimmered as it grew closer to the amulet.

"It's calling to it," Eragon said. "Armour worn only by Dragon Riders long gone."

The armour trembled.

Then, without warning, it lunged, sliding onto Ron as if magnetised. He gasped, locked in metal that shimmered blue.

"I didn't mean to—!" he yelped.

"Remove it!" Hermione shouted.

But the amulet flared first, and then everything went silent.

20. Enchantment

Castle walls loomed around them. In the room stood a spinning wheel, glinting with unnatural sharpness. Its spindle radiated power—a spell woven so deeply it pulsed in the air.

"We should leave," Hermione instructed, her voice edged with quiet certainty.

They then approached a room veiled by gauze-like curtains. Inside, a girl slept on a grand bed, lips parted in silent breath.

"Aurora," Hermione informed the boys. "She's under a sleeping curse. An enchantment cast by an evil fairy."

A shadow moved.

From the far end of the hall stepped Maleficent, her horns regal, her gaze unreadable. She said nothing at first; she studied them and then the amulet.

"Your magic doesn't belong here," she said softly. "It won't wake her."

Then—

"Whoa-AHHHHHHH!"

Ron lost his balance in his armour, staggering too close beside an open window. His footing slipped entirely, and the amulet slipped from his neck as he fell.

"RON!" both Harry and Hermione shouted.

The fairy turned, eyes flashing. She dashed to the opening, vibrant green magic flowing from her hands.

Before they could witness anything more, the spell around the castle shifted. The amulet flung them away, their friend left behind.

Harry and Hermione crashed on a rocky cliffside.

"Ron!" Harry gasped, scanning the jagged ledge. "We have to get him back!"

"You two are far from Florin." A man in black approached, sword sheathed, mask hiding most of his face. His posture was easy, but alert. "Or anywhere else, really."

Harry stepped protectively in front of Hermione. "Who are you?"

He bowed with a flourish. "No one of consequence. Just a humble rogue. Some call me Dread Pirate Roberts. But you may call me Westley."

Hermione hesitated. "Wait... you—"

"A reputation is useful when swordplay fails." He gestured to the path behind him. "I suggest we move quickly. The Sicilian's henchmen aren't far behind."

As they hurried up the slope, Harry glanced at Hermione. "Why do I feel like we're in a storybook?"

"Because we are," Westley replied. "And every story needs a choice."

At the summit, two paths diverged—one to a forest, the other to a ship anchored below.

"Forest or sea?" Westley asked.

The amulet pulsed in Hermione's palm.

"Choose quickly now," Westley warned. "Love or war?"

Hermione chose, and they were gone.

"As you wish."

"I am Moiraine Damodred," the woman began calmly. "And this is Rand al'Thor. The Dragon Reborn."

"The Pattern twisted to place you here," Rand stated, studying them. "But you are incomplete."

"Our friend," Harry explained, "was left behind."

"Perhaps we can be of assistance." Moiraine raised her hand. Threads of light began to weave.

Rand stepped forward, light swirling from his hands. "Name him."

"Ron," Hermione's voice trembled. "Ronald Weasley."

Light exploded outward. Wind howled as Ron dropped with a grunt.

"How—the fairy, she saved—where the bloody hell am I?"

Hermione sobbed in relief as she and Harry grasped onto him.

Moiraine smiled faintly. "The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills."

The amulet glowed.

Rand's voice was quiet. "And some threads are meant to return."

In a flash, they vanished.

23. Creature

They landed softly for once—on something warm and... furry?

Ron let out a yelp. "Why are we on a moving carpet?"

Hermione scrambled upright. "It's not a carpet. It's alive!”

Indeed, they were nestled between soft scales and tufts of cloudlike fur. The great head of the creature turned toward them, eyes twinkling.

"Well, aren't you three a curious bunch," its voice, gentle and booming all at once, sounded.

Harry gaped. "You... talk?"

"Of course I do," Falkor the luckdragon chuckled, coiling through the sky. "And that," he said, gesturing his snout toward the amulet now hanging at Hermione's chest, "isn't from here."

"We've been travelling through stories, or worlds... or maybe both," Hermione said breathlessly. "We don't control it."

"The Childlike Empress may be able to help you," Falkor shared, banking gently toward a silver tower rising above Fantasia's sprawling, surreal lands.

Ron cast a glance at Harry. "I swear, if it sings or starts giving riddles, I'm jumping off."

Falkor laughed as fields of coral grass shimmered below. They flew past beasts of every shape and colour—stone giants, racing snails, tiny bat-winged mice.

"It looks like you will be going elsewhere," he announced when the amulet pulsed again.

24. Trickster

They landed on smooth wood.

"Are we back?" Ron asked hopefully, blinking at the flickering torchlight.

"I think we're in Dumbledore's office," Harry observed.

The portraits lining the walls watched them—their faces shifting, smirking, whispering things they couldn’t hear.

"Something's wrong," Hermione muttered. "The magic is—"

Footsteps approached. Slow. Measured.

"Ah. There you are." The figure stepped into view, silver-bearded, half-moon glasses twinkling, robes billowing. "So curious, so clever, always... meddling."

"Professor?" Harry asked, startled.

The man smiled wider. "If only."

With a shimmer, his skin rippled, the beard dissolved, black hair lengthened to shoulders, and robes turned emerald green. Mischief flickered in his eyes.

"I do love playing headmaster," he purred.

Hermione stumbled back. "It's him. The trickster god. Loki."

"Guilty," Loki sang, arms outstretched. "You've arrived in the Citadel, darlings. Here, reality is optional."

"Why bring us here?" Harry demanded.

"Oh, I didn't. It did." Loki, eyeing the amulet, circled them. "Which is something I would quite like to get my hands on."

Gravity vanished with a snap. Up was down. The floor rippled like water. Ron grabbed Hermione's arm. Harry floated past upside down.

"Let's see who breaks first," Loki whispered.

The amulet glowed before everything shattered.

25. Valour

Steel clashed against steel. Smoke and ash coiled through the sky. Spectral knights, winged beasts, sword-wielding soldiers fought endlessly—none aging, none falling back.

"This isn't a war," Harry said grimly. "It's a curse."

A woman in silver approached, eyes glowing with hope. "You carry the Worldbinder. Its ending must be written here, in the Forgotten Realms."

Ron's brow furrowed. "What do you mean?"

"You've crossed stories never meant to meet. The amulet feeds on narrative and grows stronger with each. It intends to unravel them all."

Hermione's face paled. "Then how do we stop it?"

The woman gestured to the heart of the battlefield. "It must be returned with valour."

A dragon shrieked overhead, wings blotting out the sun. Soldiers, voices bellowing, scattered.

"Valour," Hermione echoed, realisation dawning. "It's not just courage. It's sacrifice."

Without hesitating, Ron stepped forward.

"Ron, no!" Hermione cried, reaching for him.

He turned. "Someone's got to stop this."

"You're not doing it alone," Harry said firmly. "We finish this together."

The amulet was unfastened, and a collective breath was taken before stepping into the fray. The sky cracked. Fire surged—

And blinding white light consumed them.
