Hufflepuff Huffle Pods

In one corner of the Great Hall stands the Hufflepuff event area. Wooden poles stand at the four corners of the perimeter, with vibrant green vines climbing and connecting them. Flowers in multiple colours have bloomed in all along the vines, though there might be a few extra yellow flowers here and there.

Inside the event area, there is a yellow line outlining the main event. Flower pots are scattered throughout the outlined area, each one uniquely decorated by the students of Hufflepuff. There is only potting soil in them though, no flowers to be seen. That is where you come in. The aim of this event is to toss at least three seeds into one pot to receive a prize: a delicious treat!

Students are given five seeds per round and must take their turn while standing behind the line. If three seeds make it into the same pot, a plant will grow - but instead of a flower blooming, the bud will open to reveal one of the baked goods on the menu. The prize will depend on which one the student was thinking of when throwing the seeds.

If a student is unable to get at least three into one pot, that's okay! Simply rejoin the queue and try again. There is no limit to the amount of times one can play the game.

All baked items are kindly provided thanks to a team effort between the Hogwarts house elves and Hufflepuff students.

Calliope lingered just long enough at the entrance to take stock, arms loosely crossed as her gaze swept from one house setup to the next with a critical eye sharpened by the additional self imposed training regimine. Quidditch this term had been nothing short of an embarrassment and while she was trying not to point fingers (she absolutely was), there was a distinct and pressing need to correct the narrative for herself by any means necessary.

... and getting a bit of frustration and aggression out of her system.

Ravenclaw's display earned little more than a passing glance. Riddles. Puzzles. Thinking. Absolutely not. Her brain had already done its required labor for the term. Hard pass.

Gryffindor… well... she didn't like real creatures and their plush counterparts were no better.

Slytherin's wasn't bad. It just… wasn't... what it could have been. The spectacle, brooms, real altitude...eh. So what if there might have been fire and safety hazards involved? Calliope felt like their Head of House should have put up more of a fight with the headmaster. The man literally looked like a marshmallow personified, surely he could have been persuaded.

Eh, oh well.

Which, by process of elimination, led her to Hufflepuff.

Calliope slowed as she approached, taking in the space with a more measured look. Vines curled up wooden poles, flowers blooming in warm, overenthusiastic color. It was… a lot. But her deep hazel eyes landed on the activity and her interest sharpened immediately.

"Excellent," she murmured under her breath, stepping up to the line and rolling one shoulder as if preparing for something far more serious than tossing seeds into flower pots. It wasn't flying, but it was throwing and that was 100% in her wheelhouse.

She collected her five seeds and weighed them briefly, testing their balance and how one felt in her palm. They were no quaffle, obviously, but she had pelted plenty of people in the back of their head by similarly sized objects that she ought to make easy work out of this little shindig.

Now...which pot to aim for...
