Love is Just a Four-Letter Word for a Death Eater - Sa13+ Hello there, and welcome to LiJaF-LWfaDE [the abbreviation is almost as long as the title itself], my third Fan Fiction on SnitchSeeker. Constructive criticism is appreciated, but please don’t flame me. Also, if you have a problem with one of my readers, please PM them about it. Don’t yell at them on my thread. I like to have a really friendly thread, so chatting about the fic is okay, but I don’t want spam. :] This became a problem in my last FF, so I'm I'm implementing a rule I'd like y'all to please be super kind and follow. Feel absolutely free to leave a comment after I post, but if you have anything extra you'd like to add, please edit your post, PM me, or leave me a UN. I don't want the mods to have to come and clean out my FF thread again. Most of all - please have fun! I love writing for active readers who leave me great things to reply to. You're my inspiration to write, so be my guest and get a little goofy! Normally, I leave a summary of the story ... but I figured that the title explains itself pretty well. So without further ado ... Love is Just a Four-Letter Word for a Death Eater. To some people, love is something taken for granted. It is pushed aside when it becomes inconvenient, yet, when desired, people expect to receive it, no questions asked. After all, love is supposed to be unconditional. But to people like me … love is a hindrance. It is not needed, it is not accepted, and it is not wanted. For a Death Eater, love is just a four-letter word. “Did you see his face?” Malfoy sneers as we walk into our Common Room. “I thought the kid was going to puke all over himself!” I watch him as he imitates the boy, puffing out his cheeks and crossing his eyes. I can’t help but to laugh stupidly. It’s my job. “I’m bored,” Crabbe sighs just moments after Draco stops his game of charades. Draco looks at him angrily. He doesn’t like it when it is basically implied that he is boring. I don’t say anything. Sometimes I think Malfoy is more stupid than Crabbe. “What’re you looking at?” Malfoy glares at me, looking for somewhere to vent his newfound anger. “Nothing,” I hastily reply. “I think I’ll go to bed, now. I don’t feel well.” Malfoy laughs, and Crabbe joins in, though I’m sure he doesn’t understand what is funny. I look at the two and finally ask, “What?” “We know what you’re up to,” Malfoy says first. Crabbe doesn’t talk much. “What?” I ask again, more innocently this time. Draco shakes his head. “You’re pathetic. You’re writing to her again, aren’t you?” “Who?” I question, wishing that my appearance of stupidity would finally be convincing when I need it. “That girl – the one we met – well, you know when. On our way to work. What’s her name? Janie? What a boring name.” I don’t say anything. He already knows what‘s going through my head; I’m sure of it. “You need to move on, Goyle. It’s not good for business to be tied down at such an early age. She wouldn’t understand you and the things that you do.” I nod my head, agreeing. He’s probably right, but I don’t like to think of it. I manage to get away though, and I sit down to write a note anyway. Dear Janie, I got your last letter. Draco doesn’t like you sending them. You know how he is. I hope I can see you soon. Meet me in the Entrance Hall tomorrow at our usual time. Write me back quickly, okay? - Goyle P.S. I don’t know if I’ve ever told you, but I really like your first name. Originally, I had written ‘Love, Goyle,’ at the end, but if it was intercepted, I’d be in trouble. No love is allowed. Like Draco says – it’s bad for business. |

Post Two We walk into Transfiguration and I begin to feel itchy. Not like skin-crawling-want-to-scratch-it itchy, but more like I-wish-I-wasn’t-here-and-instead-with-Janie itchy. I wiggle in my seat some and Crabbe looks at me stupidly. “What?” I hiss. “You’re moving.” “No, I’m staying still - your eyes are just watching me so intensely you think I’m moving.” He looks at me again, a weird expression on his face. He doesn’t get it. “Settle down, class,” McGonagall barks, and we fall silent. She gives a curt nod, her outward sign of appreciation, and begins the lesson. “Today we will be discussing Ilarantia, also known as the transformation of land to water. You will each be given a jar of dirt and clay. I will show you three times how to perform the spell, so I expect you to take notes. After that, you can try it on your own. I will walk around the classroom to assist you.” I pull out parchment and a quill and pretend to scribble down notes. My eyes glaze over and I find myself thinking of the first time I met Janie. “Come on, Goyle. We’re going to be late. He doesn’t like it when we’re late,” Draco hissed as we sped through the Grounds. I stared at him, deciding whether or not I’d fight back. I gave in. “We still have an hour.” He whipped around and then pinned me up against a wall. His wand was under my chin and his eyes were showing signs of fury. I was stronger than him, but when his buttons were pressed not many would dare to come near. I shook my head. “I’m sorry.” Before he could say anything else, however, a small voice slashed through the silence. “Hello? Is everything all right over there?” Draco shoved himself off of me, turning to face a girl probably two years younger than us. She had dark brown hair and emerald eyes that radiated. Since the moment I saw her, all breath had escaped from me. Nothing similar could be said for Draco, though. He lost his angry demeanor and instead filled himself with a more arrogant one. “Who are you?” Her eyes grazed over Draco then slowly met mine. I felt myself shudder. To my surprise, she walked over to me, never once breaking eye contact. She stood just inches in front of me and ran her smooth fingers across my neck. I didn’t know what to think until she whispered, “Does it hurt?” “What?” I asked, flabbergasted, but as she removed her hand I felt the pounding pain of where Draco had previously enforced so much pressure. “That,” she grimaced. “I’m Janie.” “Goyle,” I responded. “And that’s Draco.” She looked at him for a moment, then turned her attention back to me. I knew he wouldn’t like that. “How are you doing, Mr. Goyle?” McGonagall asks as she stands in front of me. I jump slightly, then look down ay my parchment. Nothing is there. I search for a way to get out of conjuring the spell, but I see no open possibilities. Therefore, I decide I might as well try - no one is expecting me to succeed. I clear my throat rather loudly and say, “Ilarantia,” with an odd wand movement. I try to copy what I had seen McGonagall do, but it is pointless, as I wasn’t paying too much attention. I squint at my jar as Malfoy laughs at me - he likes watching me fail. However, as I turn to look at him, the smile falls off of his face and McGonagall gives a short nod. She appears a little surprised about something, but I don’t know what. “Good job, Mr. Goyle. Five points to Slytherin for being the first in the class to do the transformation properly.” I shake my head frantically, thinking I must be going crazy. I have never won anything in my life, especially for my house. When the newfound whiplash subsides, I stare at my jar, and sure enough, it is full with water. Crabbe smiles really big at me. “I’m thirsty.” I pass him the jar and watch him drink it down. |
Oh, I really like this! Who would have thought: a story in Goyle's POV? I love it! ^_^ PAMSOID!!! |
He did somthing right? Be still my beating heart! |

Post Three When all of the classes are finally out, I head to the Great Hall for dinner with Malfoy and Crabbe. We reach the open doors and I suddenly exclaim, “Oh! I left my cauldron cakes in Professor Snape’s dungeon. I’ll be back soon.” Malfoy rolls his eyes. “Goyle, you big fat prune, we’re fixing to eat.” I shrug. “But I want them now.” “Fine, go, but don’t be gone for too long. I need to talk to you about our next ... job.” I nod, and they walk of. I head over to the dungeons and then duck underneath the stairs. All is dark, and I wait. There is a slight tug at my sleeve and I turn. My eyes are starting to adjust to the overwhelming blackness and I see a small outline. “Janie?” She wraps her arms around me and I can’t help but to feel right. “How are you?” she whispers, and before she can say anything else, I kiss her. I pull back, and shock was etched all through my face. I’m sure it was on hers, too. It was our first kiss, and I didn’t mean to do it. “I’m sorry,” I say. “I .. it was an accident.” I hear sarcasm come into her voice. “What, did you trip and accidentally fall on my lips?” I open my mouth to speak again, but before I even notice, she kisses me. It is short, but I like it, so I hug her again. I can tell she’s smiling, and she talks again after a couple of moments. “Did you have anything particular you needed to talk to me about, Greg?” She knows that Draco dislikes her, but I want to tell her about how awful he’s been lately. She will get bothered by it, though, so I keep my mouth closed. I also want to tell her about our potential job we have coming, but she knows nothing about my life outside of Hogwarts. She can’t. Finally, I shake my head ‘no.’ “I just wanted to see you.” “Tomorrow we’ll have been together two months,” she points out. “And still no one knows, except Crabbe and Malfoy.” I think she’s hinting at wanting to tell people. To get off the subject, I say, “I have a surprise for you.” “Really? What?” “I’ll give it to you tomorrow, all right?” I ask. “Fine,” she sighs jokingly. We know we both need to go to dinner, so I leave first. I pull a pack of cauldron cakes out of my robes and go to sit at the Slytherin table. Fifteen minutes later, Janie walks in. Malfoy watches her as she sits at the Ravenclaw table. He turns to me. “I don’t want to hear about it. Tomorrow, we need to leave after lunch. He needs us.” I protest. “I can’t! Tomorrow is-” “Tomorrow is when we’re leaving,” Draco finishes my sentence. “So what ever you have planned, I don’t care. This is more important.” The bench suddenly feels uncomfortable. I stand up. “I’m going to the common room. I’ll see you guys later.” I hope that Janie will see me leave and follow. I made it to our house without any tugs on my sleeve, though, so I go to my dorm and open my bag. I scribble down a note for Janie, send it out with Crabbe’s owl, and lay down to think about her some. |
Poor Goyle :( Can't wait to find out what happens next! :glomp: |

:woot: Hi everyone! Wow, I've finally been able to get back on! I've been so busy finishing the MoMFC's day of Potter - it took me FIVE hours total! Well, I'm writing now, and hopefully I can post tonight as an early Christmas gift! However, if I do post, it will be pretty late ... like 12 PM EST or later, I think ... so yeah! Merry Christmas everyone, and thank you for reading! EDIT: POSTINGGGGG! :woot: Just so you guys know - the action is gonna pick up pretty soon! |
The next morning, I get up at five a.m., unhappy that my Saturday is not used to it’s full potential: sleeping. We eat a hurried breakfast and sneak out the front doors before anyone really notices us. On our way down to the Entrance Gate, I turn to Draco. “So tell me more about this mission.” “We have eight hours,” he begins. “Our basic mission is to take out Kaklahov and his family.” My eyes grow big. “The ex-Death Eater?” “Yep,” Draco smiles smugly. “How’d you land us a job like that?” I ask, and with good reason. Ridding the world of traitor filth like Kaklahov is normally a job given to the older, longer-term members like our fathers and the Lestranges. Draco smirked. “I’m good. Therefore, we’re going to do this well and it will be a clean job. Most of all - it can’t look like a job to the Muggle eye.” “Why not?” Crabbe questions. Normally we’re allowed to get as messy as we want - it creates a clear message to the deceased's friends and family. “I don’t know,” Malfoy snaps. “I don’t make the rules. Let’s just keep it simple - Avada Kedavra all the way. Get it?” “Got it,” Crabbe and I say in unison. “Good.” We Disapparate as soon as we’re off of the grounds. When my feet hit the ground, we are outside a store on Knockturn Alley. Draco leads the way in and as soon as the chime rings, announcing arriving costumers, a tall man eagerly jumps out from behind his counter. “Ahh, Misters Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle. It is nice to see you again. What can I help you with?” he hisses. His stale breath of cigarettes and water rushes into my face, and I take a step back. He grins toothlessly and I glare at him. “We need the usual,” Malfoy answers, ignoring my severe dislike for the man. The man bows his way out of the room and returns shortly with three backpacks, filled with excessive amounts of Marl’s Disappearing Powder, bleach, and the Mrs. Scower’s Magical Mess Remover. “By the way, Smith, we’re working extra hard today,” Malfoy winks, looking through the man’s long list of potions. “So throw us in some Wit-Sharpening Potion ... Draught of Peace ... and some bottles of firewhisky.” When Malfoy pays the money to Smith, we quickly leave and Apparate in a small, tree-populated Muggle town. “What’s his address?” Malfoy pulls out a piece of parchment and reads, “493 ... he should be on the right side of the road.” We walk down the street. Every house on the right is odd numbered, so we continue on, hoping to get there soon. 489 ... 491 ... 493. We stop outside the driveway and Draco turns to us. “You ready to get your killing on?” I laugh. “Always.” |

Go page number four! ;) |
Post Five “Alohomora,” I say quietly, and the front door swings open. “They’re still in bed,” Draco whispers as he goes through the bottom floor, finding it empty. I nod in understanding and lead the way to the upper level. The layout of the house is like many others found throughout the country, so I know where to look first for the master bedroom. They follow me down the hallway until we reach the third door on the right. I ease is open and, sure enough, there are to lumps of blankets snoring in the bed. I give a small hand wave and we enter the bedroom. After pushing the covers back slightly on the right side, a man’s face greets mine. Draco steps to my side and yells, “Avada Kedavra!” so loudly that the woman next to him jumps up and out of her sleep. Before she can scream, Crabbe curses her too while a bright, shining green light erupts in the room. Everything falls quiet and I race to the other side of the bed. I push the dead woman down and cover her back up, not wanting too look at her face. Thump. “What was that?” Crabbe asks, looking around wildly. “It came from another room,” I respond. I turn to see Draco leaning up against a wall casually. “Oh, did I forget to mention it?” he asks. “They have kids - a boy and a girl. We need to get them, too.” My jaw drops open. “I didn’t sign up to kill kids.” “No, you didn’t,” Draco agrees, but I know that’s not the end of it. “But you signed up to do what our Master says. Therefore, we’re going to do it. I’ll take the girl ... she’s about thirteen, I hear.” He licks his lips and walks out of the room. I don’t follow, because God only knows what he’ll do to the girl before - or after - he kills her. I shake my head and pull a Gallon out of my pocket. “Heads up, you kill the boy. Serial number - I’ll do it.” Crabbe nods, and I flip it up, praying to some God I don’t know, praying that it’ll land on heads. I catch it, flip it over onto the back of my hand, and look. Serial number. I groan, put the coin back into it’s place, and walk across the hall to the bedroom. In the room over, I hear muffled noises, telling me he hasn’t killed her yet. The door in front of me swings open before I touch it and I look down. A small boy, probably no older than five or six, looks up at me. He has deep brown eyes and sandy blonde hair. A teddy bear is tucked in-between his arm and his side and his thumb is in his mouth. He pulls his thumb out of his mouth and smiles at me. He’s missing a tooth in the front, but it only makes him cuter. He looks so much like my little brother. The girl’s bedroom falls silent and Draco comes out, his hair tousled. “You done it - what’re you doing?” I look between the boy and Draco, and I bite my lip. “I ... I can’t.” “You can,” Malfoy says, and looks at the boy. “You, go get in your bed - now!” The boys eyes grow big and he runs into his room. I can hear him sobbing. As soon as he’s gone, Draco shoves me up against the wall. “You’re being weak, and I won’t stand for it. You know the Dark Lord won’t. Get in there and do your job so we can leave. We only have a little while to get back to the school. He storms back to where the parents lay. I take a deep breath, then follow my orders. The boy is on his bed, and his sobs have turned into silent crying. He looks back up at me, hopefully, tears still streaming down him face. “Bad man,” he whispers, and I know he’s talking about Draco. I nod, then ask him nicely to lay down. He does as I request, then pulls his covers up over him, but he will not close his eyes and instead watches me with that big, hopeful grin, and he still looks so much like my little brother. “Your parents and your sister love you,” I utter, and I pull out my wand. He knows something bad is about to happen, so he starts squirming. “Avada Kedavra!” As I leave, I look back at the boy, now dead. His teddy bear is still in his arms and all looks of hope are gone, replaced by one of sheer terror. |

I'M POSTING! :woot: |
Post Six We exit the house after doing a quick run through with Mrs. Scower’s Magical Mess Remover to remove all of our fingerprints. It’s not like they can trace us anyway, or that they’ll have reason to - we’re not in the Muggle database, and anyway, it doesn’t look like they were murdered. It merely appears that they all died of natural causes at the same time. I look at the ground as we walk, not really talking. “You still held up about the boy?” Draco asks, taking a swig of the firewhisky. I shrug. “Here, take this,” Draco instructs, handing over the Draught of Peace. “I’ll make you calm down some.” I do as he says, and instantly a warm feeling sweeps from my head to my toes. I feel very, very laid-back and relaxed, and when we reach a private part of the woods so we can Disapparate, I completely forget why I was upset in the first place. We get back to the school at twelve, an hour before our time limit is up. That gives us time to take a shower and race down to the Great Hall for lunch. Draco’s breath still reeks of firewhisky, so he hurriedly eats some bread to soften the aroma. As he and Crabbe stuff their faces, I chew on a chicken leg and search the room, quickly coming to the conclusion that Janie isn’t present. I can’t help but to wonder where she is, and I really hope that she’s not upset with me for missing our meeting at ten. After a while, I stand up and leave, not really paying attention to Draco’s questions. I hurriedly go towards my common room and suddenly bump into something very solid. Whatever it is, it falls back and I quickly realize that it’s Janie. I race to where she’s fallen on the floor. “Oh my God, I am so sorry!” I say, pulling her up. “I didn’t see you at all!” “That’s a little obvious,” she grinned, massaging the back of her head tenderly. “Where were you today?” “I sent you a note,” I reply. “Didn’t you get it?” “I did, and it said you’d be staying after in Charms for extra credit. I went it there today, during your class period, to deliver a note from McGonagall. You, Crabbe, and Malfoy weren’t there. Were you skipping?” I freeze, then finally choke out a, “No.” She raises her eyebrows, and her nice demeanor has changed to upset. “You’re lying to me.” “I - I’m not!” I protest. “Then where were you?” I reach into my bag and pull a wrapped gift out. “I didn’t want to give it to you until tonight ... when we could spend more time together. Draco and Crabbe went with me to pick it out.” Her jaw dropped open. “You got me something? But ... I didn’t get you anything.” I laughed and wrapped her in a hug. “It’s okay. I did this to surprise you. Would you like to open it now, or later?” “Later,” she grinned, squeezing me tightly. “I’ll meet you tonight, in the Room of Requirement, okay?” We arrange a time to meet and as she walks away, a huge wave of relief sweeps over me. She has no idea where I really was, and it is still better that way. |
