Chapter Five: Shattered

Shattered, the one word to describe my life, my heart and my window if you want to add that as well, I glanced down at the broken glass which the light from the moon reflected off of, draping the walls in the simple room with a beautiful light, though it's beauty did not move my stone cold heart from it's place in my chest, it did not affect me. I had one chance to escape, and I was not about to ruin it with the simplicity of beauty that I could see any time I wanted to, I needed to escape this living nightmare of a life that lay before me, I needed to leave this place more then I needed anything else in the world, excluding love.

I tossed my duffel bag out the window, which I could have easily have moved if it had not been for the complex spells and wards on it to keep me in, so, I accidentally threw Hogwarts A History at it, big book, yet since the Silencio charm had been cast millions of times in my room to keep my wails and my complaining confined in here from when I was a infant and a child it made no sound, and now, I would escape this place, I deserved a chance to live normally, not shut up in a tower like Rapunzel, besides, my hair wasn't anywhere near long enough.

I snorted out my mental joke and began to climb out my window avoiding the sharp points of glass sticking up.” Thank you Bathilda.” I murmured to the book that lay so innocently on the ground littered in shards of glass, grabbed my book and ran south, or what I thought was south, my parents never let me own a compass, they left me in my tower with millions of books and no wand, so, that was my first stop, well second actually, I had to go to Gringotts to get money out of my family vault, unless they removed my name from the eligible heirs, knowing them, they did. But still it was worth a try.

I, Nimueh Vivienne Black, have just successfully escaped from Black tower, imprisoned there by my parents and my grandmother, my grandfather apparently was one of the Dark Lord's greatest servants, until, he became weak, I doubt it. Black's are not weak, I have reason to suspect that Regulus Black realized that what he was doing was wrong and tried to kill the Dark Lord, ha, but that is only my theory. I've come to realize over the years, that there is a difference, a very big difference between theories and reality, and I've been called a theorist instead of a realist.

~End of flashback~

“ Nimueh!” A sudden shout surprised me, who here, in Diagon Alley knew me? I turned around slowly and was incredibly shocked at who I saw.

“ What are you doing here?” I gasped, still in a slight state of shock.

“ I'd ask you the same question, how in the name of Merlin did you escape your blasted parents?” James Potter grinned cockily at me.

“ I threw Hogwarts A History at my window in anger.” I laughed slightly, remembering James and mine chance encounter involving a niffler, several wrackspurts and a crazy hag. Ah yes, that is certainly what someone would call a tall tale.

“ Ah, that book works wonders, I would know, it made me smarter.” James joked, I recall him telling me about when his maniac cousin hit him on the head one to many times with that “oh so precious book of hers” as he called it.

“ Uh huh, of course it does. By the way, what are you doing here?” I repeated the question again, I didn't care much if people ignored my questions, I was used to it by now.

“ Oh yea, that.. I was supposed to be visiting and helping my uncle George, but I ran into-” I cut him off knowing where this was going.

“ Lena.” I smirked, he blinked and then nodded.” So, where is Lena now?”

“ Uh, she had to check in to Madam Malkins for something so I'm on my way back to, hey you want to check out Weasley's Wizard Wheezes?!” James suddenly suggested.

“ Sure! It sounds like a cool place.” I've always heard of it, never been there. Because well, I never got to leave the tower.

“ Right this way milady.” I knew he was joking, but still, James can be annoying. Rolling my eyes I followed him until we arrived at number ninety-three, Diagon Alley.

My mouth fell open like it was on a loose hinge, it was a tall building with long windows and the painting of a young man grinning with the brightest red hair hung right above the door, and beneath it, in the small space between the portrait and the door was a golden plaque with silver writing that read, Fred Gideon Weasley, former owner of W.W.W.

“ Is that.. Is that your dead uncle?” I barely managed to say, it was a amazing sight, the store and all, but what really interested me was the portrait.

“ Yep, now let's go in.” James looked a little uncomfortable with the talk about him, probably because he never knew Fred. The two of us walked in to the store and immediately James disappeared leaving me all alone, but I really didn't mind.

Walking through the store was, was a adventure.. It was simply awesome! They had all sorts of sweets, even a few invisibility hats and other stuff, I was almost laughing at everything I saw, then I came across the girly area, and was then sitting on the floor laughing so hard I was crying. Yea, weird things like this have strange affects on me.

“ Excuse me miss, are you alright?” A young girl, I'd place her around fourteen, with long straight red hair asked me, she probably worked here, and was probably family.

“ Yes.. No.. No idea.” I said through my laughter.

“ Ugh! It's Lily!” I heard a boy, who had semi long black hair say.

“ Ugh! It's Septimus!” She spat at him turning back to face me.” Um, I'm Lily, Lily Potter.”

“ Nimueh Black, or Nim for short.” I smiled at her standing up and shaking her hand.” You wouldn't happen to be related to James Potter, would you?”

“ I.. Yes, he's my brother, unless your talking about the dead.. That one's my grandfather.” Lily trailed off for a moment.” Er, what did you find so funny?”

“ The huge selection of love potions, and the anti-wrackspurt spray which is hot pink.” I smiled at her.

“ Oh.. Yea.” Before Lily could say anything else, James re-arrived.

“ Hey Nim, why are you.. Lil!” He looked a little surprised seeing his sister.

“ James.” She smiled stiffly.” Um, I've got to go, uncle George wants me.” She quickly left.

“ What.. Why, why don't you and your sister get along?” I was definitely curious.

“ We haven't talked, um, at all really. Since our parents died.” James said, staring at his feet I resisted slapping the git and just returned to shopping..

Chapter Six: Impossible*

“ Hey, you ready?” Miles looked down at the red headed girl who was at least two heads shorter then him.

“ As ready as I'll ever be?” Lily's words sounded more of a question then a statement.

“ Let's go now.” Miles scooped his younger cousin up in his arms, causing her to squeal as he led her to the car out front.

“ Let me go you giant git!” Lily giggled softly, hitting him.

“ Did you just giggle Lils?!” Miles speculated, his eyes going large.” The heavens are falling down, it's the end of the world!”

“ Oh be quite.” Lily rolled her eyes, and managed to squeeze out of Miles grip and slipped in to her seat. As she stared out of the car she realized that things had changed recently between her and Miles.. They were still best friends, but, he was older, stronger, and things had changed a lot. He was graduating Hogwarts, she realized she needed friends more then she thought she did. It was going to break her heart to see Miles leave, she knew what he wanted to be, what he wanted to do. He wanted to follow his father's footsteps and go to Romania. It was breaking Lily's heart as she slowly admitted to herself that he was leaving, for good.

“ You okay Lils, you've been kind of quite.” Miles glanced over at her, Lily had been quite indeed, quite for at least twenty minutes.

“ Yea. I'm fine.” Lily turned and gave Miles a fake smile, that showed she didn't want to talk about it. With a nearly inaudible sigh, Miles concentrated once again on the road.

After a few more minutes they arrived at Kings Cross. In total silence did they enter the building and proceeded in to platform 9 ¾, immediately Lily entered the train, shoving past a few of her family members which she kept bumping in to. But it wasn't hard to do that, and headed off in to a empty, or at least what she thought was empty, compartment and sat by the window.. Before she could stop herself she was crying hysterically.

And unfortunately, she had made a mistake. The one other person in the compartment who she hadn't seen, woke up, and was to say the least, shocked.” Lily?!”

*** Platform 9 ¾, again.

“ May I hold him, Mrs Lupin?” Fred pleaded, giving his cousin a simpering look.

“ If you call me that one more time Fred, I swear on-” Victoire was cut off by her husband.

“ Just ignore the git, here, Rose, do you want to hold Harry?” Teddy laughed and beckoned another one of Victoire's cousins over.

“ Yes! Thanks Teddy..” Rose smiled brightly at Teddy and accepted the baby from Teddy.” Miles! Come look at Harry, he's grown a lot hasn't he?”

“ Sure has.” Miles grinned at everyone, especially the baby.

“ I still think you should have named him Jacopo*!” James whined.

“ Yea, that's way more sensible then Harry.” Hugo snorted.

“ Shut up!” James rounded on Hugo who stepped back.

“ You two boys stop it now! Hugo, will you just stop having a go at James every other second? And James, if you ever have a son you can name it Jacopo.” Rose glowered at the two.

“ Yea, if you ever have a kid.” Hugo sniggered.

“ SHUT UP!” Rose and Ron yelled at the same time.

“ The trains starting to leave, hurry up, take care Hugo, Rose! Make sure that Malfoy boy doesn't break your heart or else your father will murder him!” Hermione hugged and kissed each of her children, Hugo still mad squirmed out of his mother's grip and ran off on to the train.” Some times I wonder what we will ever do with him.” Hermione shook her head smiling.

“ Bye mom, dad!” Rose laughed and hugged each in turn.

“ Be careful around Scorpius!” Ron yelled after her.

“ I will..” Rose quickly clambered on to the train, right in to Scorpius' arms.” Scorp!”

“ Hey Rose..” Scorpius kissed her quickly.

“ Ew, you two. Get a room, or else I'll tell dad.” Hugo snapped at his sister.

“ Ignore him, he's just annoyed.. With life.” Rose rolled her eyes, and the two of them headed off to find a empty compartment, and happened to stumble across a surprising one, Septimus Snape trying to sleep, and looking rather uncomfortable, and Lily Potter crying hysterically in the corner.

“ What the hell did he do now?!” Scorpius exclaimed and opened to door.” What did you do now Snape?”

“ Nothing, I swear! She just came in here and started bawling her eyes out for no reason.” Septimus glowered at Scorpius.

“ I did not start bawling my eyes out!” Lily turned and screamed at Septimus.

“ Yea you kind of did.” Septimus muttered, fortunately for him, only Rose heard him.

“ Lily, are you alright?” Rose threw Septimus a 'Shut up now if you want to live' look and walked over to her cousin..

Great chappie. I'm rubbish with times and family trees etc. so James, Hugo, Rose etc are the ones we met in the epilogue. Miles is Charlie's son. Lily is upset because her cousin(?) is leaving for Romania or a different reason. And Ted and Victoire had a baby boy called Harry, I apologise if this is all wrong, I'm rubbish about this kind of thing.:D

How long after the eplilogue is this anyway?

Umm.. Quite a few years. James is in his last year, Rose is in her 6th, Hugo is in his 5th, Lily is in her 4th (I think), Miles, Fred and James are in the same year btw. Lily is upset cause her parents are dead and that her cousin (basically her only friend, she feels that her brothers abandoned her after her parents died) is leaving to Romania after the year is over.. She has, er. Social problems kind of, and is a highly emotional teenager..

And Ted and Vic have a baby named Harry :xd: (and they are happy together :P )

Chapter Seven: Hilarity

Amanda “Mel” Melanie Chang-Davies clambered aboard the Knight Bus with her best friend, Jacob Pine, and her cousin, Missy Wood.

“ Hogwarts should be fun this year, don't you think?” Jacob smirked broadly, putting his arms around the two girls, making them laugh.

“ It will be absolutely hilarious!” Mel said, she had cheered up quite a bit over the past few days, Jacob tended to have that effect on people.

“ Ha, I've heard it's always fun.” Missy laughed, she had attended Beaxbaton's, as did her mother, who was Cho Chang's older sister, Aileen Wood.. Aileen married the star keeper for the Chudley Cannons, Oliver Wood, who's back up keeper happened to be, Ron Weasley. There seeker was, the late Harry Potter. And the beaters were George Weasley and Aileen Wood.

“ We should have a party during the feast!” Mel randomly shouted, surprising everyone around her.

“ Er, what?” Jacob sounded rather confused.

“ The feast in memory of Hilary “Hilarity” Taylor, who graduated last year.. Everyone's favorite head girl.” Mel continued.” Oh uh. We should leave the feast and have a party in.. Some unused classroom, unless someone else has a better idea.”

“ Yea! That's awesome. Hilarity was so cool, no one could dislike her, Septimus and Lily both liked her, and that's saying something.” Jacob laughed, relaxing in his seat, only to be thrown out a second later from the large bump the Knight Bus had hit.

“ Uh huh.” Mel suddenly sobered up and glared at Jacob.

“ Idiot!” Missy hissed, punching Jacob so hard he fell off his seat again.

***Hogwarts Express

“ It's not his fault! Will you stop trying to find reasons to get mad at him Rose?” Lily groaned, her temper was running short with her cousin.

“ I'm not finding reasons to get mad at Snape! Why the heck would I.. Okay.. Sorry, Lil, but if he ever does anything to do. Just let me know, okay? I'm not afraid of punching guys.” Rose sighed, giving up.

“ I can punch a guy also!” Lily nearly screamed storming out, hating that everyone treated her like a fragile, delicate person. Everyone except Septimus. She walked around the corridors muttering darkly to herself before hearing a announcement saying that everyone had to find a seat. Unfortunately for her she could only find one compartment with room. Gulping, she peeked in.” Um, could I sit here?”

Amanda Davies, Jacob Pine and Missy Wood all looked at Lily who was looking pretty frightened.” Sure!” Missy said, smiling.

“ Oh, uh, thanks.” Lily smiled weakly and moved in to the compartment.

“ We are playing truth or dare, want to join us?” Jacob asked, smirking.

“ Um, sure.” Lily mumbled, biting her lip, nervous.

The game went on around her and nothing important really happened till.

“ Why do you and Septimus hate each other?” The question was out of Mel's lips before she could stop herself.

“ Because.. Well. We just..” Lily paused, not quite sure why they didn't get along, she was quite for a few seconds till all the memories came flooding back to her.” Because he's an arrogant pig and has some sort of blood feud against me because his grandfather wanted to marry my grandmother.. She refused.”

“ Oh.. That's weird.” Missy somehow said that with out giggling, she was a rather giggly girl..

“ Did you know Hilary Taylor?” Jacob suddenly spoke, breaking the odd tension in the compartment.

“ Yea, she was the really nice head-girl, didn't she graduate?” Lily looked up at him.

“ Cool, us three are throwing a party in memory of her. She was awesome, want to help?” Mel said, getting the gist of what he was trying to say.

“ I uh.. I guess.” Lily was a little surprised, people didn't normally ask her questions like that.

“ YAY!” Missy shouted happily.” Hilarity was the best.”
