Hogwarts Funding Support If you're an alumni, student or a general supporter of furthering the next age of witches and wizards this is the booth for you! Situated just to left of the petting zoo, the Hogwarts Support Booth is set up in all of its Hoggy Hogwarts glory. The booth is doused in the four different colours of the Hogwarts houses to show school spirit with a bright purple sign that says Hogwarts Support Booth across the top. |
Emma was on her way to work and noticed the booth. She had no idea that Hogwarts was having financial difficulty and was thankful that Beauxbatons was where she was receiving her excellent education. Either way, she felt that she should do her part and donate the little pocket change she had to the school. Stepping up to the booth, Emma fiddled in her pocket and pulled out a few galleons. "I hope this helps" she said with a smile and nod. |
Carter plopped into one of the seats behind the fundraising booth. It was a good thing that there was a petting zoo. He didn't have to worry about Destiny causing too many problems. Except... meh... ... ... yeah. She probably wouldn't steal anything. Probably. Anyway. Fundraising time. The quidditch player and the Board of Governor relaxed and waited for someone to come donate. He smiled as someone dropped a few galleons into the jar. "Thank you. Every little bit is appreciated." |
Beijing was aware that Hogwarts was having financial difficulty, she believed it would be good to donate to the school. Only, what about the school would be changed? "Excuse me" she said "What kind of things are people planning to fix at Hogwarts?" she asked. Not wanting her money to be going into something she believed unsuitable "I mean, how are the donations going to be used?". |
Adi was just wandering around, taking in everything Diagon Alley had to offer. And it was so cool that there was a festival on too! It made him realise that he liked hippogriffs alot. He wanted one for a pet! But that wasn't likely. He really hoped Hogwarts had some! Speaking of Hogwarts. Adi observed the four House colours decorating a booth along with what looked like collecting jars. He had heard that the school was going through some financial trouble. "It won't hurt to donate,'' the soon to be Hogwarts student thought and skipped happily over to the booth. Reaching it he grinned to the person who was no doubt over seeing the collecting. "Hello, Mister! Here you go!'' Adi dropped three galleons into the jar. |
Wheelchair positioned next to Carter, the elderly man adjusted his tie and looked brightly at people passing by. COME. COME DONATE. DO IT FOR HOGWARTS. DO IT FOR THE CHILDREN. Or for this wee little old man with the big smile and zoo accessories. What? They were right next to a petting zoo, and when was he ever going to get a chance to wear that tie again, huh? Quote:
"Good day, ma'am," he greeted with a polite bow of his head. "I'm sure you've heard of the recent goblin repossession at Hogwarts? Many items were taken from the school's classroom supplies, and this money will be put to use for purchasing more materials to provide our students with the good education they deserve." Hopefully that answered her question, but he could be more specific if need be. Quote:
It was for him. He nudged it at the boy, still beaming. Quote:
Really big. |
Ariel slipped through the crowd on her way to the petting zoo. The festival was bustling with people and vendors. It was exciting! She'd seen quite a few festivals in her time, (several of them, admittedly much grander that this) but this one was positively wonderful. The girl stepped up to the booth and slipped her hand inside her pocket, pulling out a sack. She weighed the bag in her hand for a moment and opened the drawstring to check its contents for the twentieth or so time. Father would be furious if he found out she had lost it any of his donation. But no, it was all there. All forty galleons of it. Ariel pushed the bag across the table to the elderly man sitting behind it, rather than trying to fit each coin into the jar slot individually. She gave him a slight half-smile. "A gift from my father," she explained. "No thanks needed." And without waiting for a reply, she was off to the petting zoo, slipping through the crowded streets once more. |

Ohh... is that what the shirts were for? Made sense. Carter just thought it was for decoration. The quills must be for that as well. Heh. He nodded politely at his fellow Governor. He had things to discuss... like if Destiny had picked out his tie... but that could wait until the donors were gone. He nodded along. Right. Unfortunately this money wasn't going toward... improvements, but rather to restore Hogwarts. Hopefully the funds... or at least the pawned off goods, would be recovered soon, then this money could go toward improving things. But, unfortunately, that wasn't the way it looked like things were going to happen. He smiled again as another one approached. But this girl was gone before he could offer a souvenir. |
Quote:
Two children ran by and dropped off their donations. One received a large T-shirt for their donation of galleons. Beijing did not want a commercial, plain Hogwarts T-shirt. She would have donated galleons; but now that she knew she would get a shirt, she would give sickles and knuts instead. Although, she would wait before donating those sickles and knuts and ask another question. "What kinds of materials?" Was he referring to quills and parchment, because those things are often brought by the students. At least in Beijing's day that's what happened. "Desks and chairs?" those were the kind of things students couldn't bring themselves. She wanted to wait until it was absolutely clear about where her money was going to go. She tapped her long finger nails on the table, they were magical after all. |
Quote:
Giving the gentleman a nod and a friendly smile, Emma took the shirt. "Thank you. This will be a lovely reminder of my time interning in Diagon Alley." She folded the shirt nicely and placed it in her chartreuse bag. |
Quote:
Quote:
He'd look dashing in that tee, he would. Quote:
This girl was an angel sent from above. "Wait! Wait, you forgot your.." But she was gone. ".... t-shirt." And he was going to have let her take one for her father, too. Quote:
Sherman tried not to look at those long nails. They were.. they were going to get him.. his face... it would be clawed... Carter would protect him, wouldn't he? Quote:
He willed more passersby to drop coins into the jars. COME, PEOPLE. COME DONATE. DO IT FOR HOGWARTS. DO IT FOR THE CHILDREN. Do it for the tie. Yes, the tie. The zoo tie. |
Quote:
"Yes, definitely" she said "I will donate" she rooted through her glittery purse and pulled out her change purse. Her change purse was not glittery, but it was a silken green fabric. She had five knuts and six sickles, all of which she donated. "If you are going to find more materials for Hogwarts, I would love to be a part of making that happen!" she said generously with a smile. And it did need to happen, the more people donated; the sooner the school would be back to normal |
"Hello governors!" Nolan Reynolds said with a big grin as he made his way over to the Hogwarts funding table. After the craziness of last term, he'd been making an effort to save up as many galleons as he could to help. After all, his daughter was going there someday. However, he knew that the budget was tight, so he'd been kind of...welllllll...SNEAKING some galleons away from Ginger. Whatever. It was for a good cause! "Here's...five galleons. Any little bit helps, right?" he said with a smile to his fellow governors. |
Quote:
"I like your tie, by the way." he said. "Just don't let the wife see it." Because she might steal it. Speaking of which, he kept an eye on the petting zoo just to make sure Destiny didn't try to run off with anything there. Quote:
... or he'd pretend it wasn't anyway. "Want a t-shirt?" he offered nodding to the table. They were apparently giving them out and not using them for decoration. "Or a chair? You can join us if you'd like." The more Governors, the better, right? |
When it comes to Hogwarts, Corin was always ready to give a helping hand and donations when necessary. Like today. He was just a bit concerned that the last time he was so generous, the entire proceeds literally vanished into thin air. He strode along the tables and took out a money pouch filled with the gold pieces and casually dropped the entire thing into the jar. Heres hoping that does go towards where its supposed to go. And yes exchange pleasantries with his fellow Governors "Gentlemen" he nodded cordially to each of them. |
sigh this sight really depressed Mack, having to beg for donations, when she had already told the headmistress that she could pay off their debts... No matter she would put into the jar so that the headmistress couldn't say a word. "That'll show her!!" Mackenzie screamed at the scary woman in her head.. Pulling out a small pouch, the last present that Mack had received from her mother, The blonde pulled out about fifty galleons and put them in a jar. Looking up she smiled, and waited on one of the two people behind the table, she had a question for them. |
Quote:
Maybe he'd stay an hour, maybe he'd stay longer. He WAS the manager of the store, after all. "Hello Corin!" he called to other governor who had just joined them at the booth. He assumed now he was going to be offered a t-shirt and a chair, just like Nolan had, but he let Carter and Sherman get that one. He didn't want to COMPLETELY overtake the booth. |
Quote:
"Care to join us as well?" he asked. Nolan was. "And you get a shirt for your donation." If he wanted one. Quote:
Quote:
Not that he really knew any of the Governors well before then. He should change that. They all worked together after all. |
Quote:
She looked around as she waited on the answer from the nice people working the booth, she liked them.. why couldn't everyone that she had met from Hogwarts be the same way? |
Word had gotten out that there was a festival going on in Diagon Alley. So far out that even the likes of former keeper, winner of the 441st Quidditch World Cup, and current coach of the Montrose Magpies was in attendance. Colin MacKenzie, clad in your typical day-to-day wear and dark sunglasses, had given his team a day off of practice just so they all could relax a bit before their next big game in the League. He was the best coach his team could have had, and he totally deserved the title of Best Coach of the Year. Or Witch Weekly’s Most Charming Smile Award. There would be no complaints from him if he won that again. Awards were not on the mind of the incognito man as he came up to the support booth. As an alumnus of the school, Colin felt like it was his duty to help the poor place out. Even if they had cancelled what would have been an amazing seminar with him this last term. But there was no use crying over spilt potion, though he had received a number of disappointed fan letters complaining about a staff-led seminar that involved an awful lot of hand zapping. Hopefully dear Annie wouldn’t have to cancel anymore seminars now, yes? Beneath his sunglasses, he eyed up the men at the booth when it was his turn to make his donation. They were clearly members of the Board. He wasn’t able to match any names with their faces until his eyes fell upon the youngest of the group. He was a chaser in the League, was he not? For Puddlemere United? It took everything inside of him to not make a snide comment about Magpie’s rival. “Evening, gentlemen,” Colin said casually instead, placing a large handful of galleons into one of the jars. |
Quote:
He sidled up and did his best to play it cool. Ahem. Hem hem. Cough. Over here. Cough. "Excuse me? Er... Mr Mackenzie?" GONNADIEEEERGHgGHsdkgsaldk SO EXCITED. Cough. "I'm West Odessa, I'm a big fan of what you do for the Magpies. Can I have your autograph, please sir?" |
Text Cut: Governors aka BEST FRIENDS "Why thank you! ... does your wife not like zoo ani- Nolan! Corin!" Sherman had been busy trying to peek in the jars and count more galleons, but now that his fellow governors were here, he tried to relax a little. There were so many people donating! Mrs. Rae-Branxton would be ECSTATIC, he was sure of it. Plus they had company now! Was Corin going to pull up a chair, as well? The more, the merrier, right? Quote:
Sherman tried his best not to offer to let him pull up a chair as well. Could he autograph a tee? For his granddaughter? For HIM? The old man beamed even more and nudged a shirt at the man, nearly too excited to speak. "Thank you for your donation, sir. Would you like a-" Quote:
... West Odessa? Sherman knew that name. His gaze shifted from the Quidditch player to the gangly boy who somewhat resembled an overexcited puppy at that exact moment. He was just there for the autograph? Not even going to donate to their cause? Didn't have a single knut to spare for a crippled old man, as well as ANOTHER professional player and two governors? Tsk, tsk. How shameful. Not that Sherman had reasons to be overly judgmental. Because he wasn't. Really. |
Evolette McKenna was a rare sight outside of America for quite a while now. In fact, she rarely made it back over the England at all. Mostly she had no reason to, but it just so happened she was now, and she had heard a rumor about a festival on Diagon Alley. Perhaps she'd pick up a few presents for her boys while she was away. She missed them terribly ever so much. As she wandered through, she noted a specific spot. More fund raising for Hogwarts. She'd donated once already, but it seemed the school was still in need of money. Hogwarts had given her many things during her time there, she'd might as well try to give back, especially since she could give without having the worry of needing the money herself. "Hello." She spoke to both of the men who seemed to be manning the station. If she was going to be donating a large sum, she wanted to know who she was giving it to. "My name is Evolette McKenna, may I inquire yours?" She flicked her blue gaze between the older man and the younger one, a polite yet dazzling smile on her lips. |
Quote:
Quote:
But he was wrong. Right as the old man started talking to him, a younger boy had come up and addressed him by his surname. How did he know that it was him behind those sunglasses?? Colin looked at the boy and then at the old man behind the booth. Had he known who he was as well? Playing it cool, Colin kept that smile on his face and let out a soft chuckle. Now that the kneazle was out of the bag, there was not much he could do besides hope that there weren’t too many eavesdroppers around the place. “Thank you, lad. I do my best,” he answered the boy. “And you can certainly have an autograph.” Since when did he ever pass up a signing opportunity? Colin let out a low hum as he glanced around for something to sign. Did the West boy have something for him to sign? Or would that shirt the wheelchair man was just about to hand him do? Speaking of the old man... “Would you like me to sign something for you, too?” |

His eyes glanced over at the petting zoo again. He then lowered his voice. "Almost didn't make it to our wedding actually. She was plotting on how to best steal a giraffe." Quote:
"Carter Phillips." he said with a grin. "From the Board of Governors." Youngest member on it actually. He was also chaser for Puddlemere. But that wasn't relevant. "This is Sherman. Also from the Board." he said introducing his fellow Governor. |
Quote:
Or maybe it was just because her fake date for that was that one kid who liked the girl who liked the elepha... something. Something something. Something else something. She talked a lot, it was hard to keep up, you know? Quote:
Merlin, why couldn't ladies clip their claws? Quote:
"Yes, please, sir! Sherman Clark, big fan." He would have stretched over the booth and GRABBED Colin MacKenzie's hand and given it a REAL HEARTY shake, but he was more professional than that. Obviously. And also germs. What was.. what was he supposed to give him? For his autograph? Would it be unprofessional to ask him to sign a body part? Hastily, the elderly man undid the tie around his neck and nudged it toward him. Yes. Yes, sign the zoo tie. Lucia wouldn't be too happy, but.. y'know. Whatever. Wives. Hmph. Alice would get it. Oh, speaking of Alice. "Would you sign something for my granddaughter, too?" Pretty please? He also hoped that Carter wasn't listening to his childish player obsession. Puddlemere United... Magpies.. didn't.. whatever. Sherman was getting an AUTOGRAPH. |
*jumps in* ^_^ It wasn't a secret that Ellie only came to the festival for the food. They didn't have food like this ALL the time. And she was always up for stuffing herself with particularly unhealthy munchies. Especially during off-season, when she wouldn't be scolded for her poor choices, or find it harder to work off during grueling team practices the next morning. Not that she was particularly drawn to the donation station, but she happened to spot it and, keeping up with her record with the charity events throughout the school year, went to give a few galleons. "Hey Carter," she greeted the familiar face as she dropped her galleons into the jar. |
Quote:
BEAM no one to stop her from donating money. She just needed to watch out for the headmistress, because she would yell at her again. She took out about fifty more galleons from the purse and placed them in various jars. Smiling at her first and second contribution but knew there would be more once her grandparents arrived at the festival. "Thank you for all you do" And the hyper blonde skipped away from the table to look for her granparents. |
SPOILER!!: all the things. ALL THE THINGS O_O YUSSSSSSS AUTOGRAPHYUSSSS YUSSSS. Inwardly West was all celebratory, right up until he noticed the little old man there. The little old man that was his girlfriend's grandfather. The little old man that knew that West had kissed someone else. Had Alice explained everything? That it was okay now? That he'd just been all emotionally overWHELMED and that he was sane again? He was TORN now. Between COLIN MACKENZIE and feeling all.... awkward and abashed and like slinking away because of circumstances. Not that West was a slinker. He stood up straighter and looked at Mr. Clark. Oh. Something for Alice too? West was gonna ask that. But in the mean time... West rummaged in his bag an came up with a sheet of parchment (with the Daily Prophet logo on the top) that had all the times of all the Magpies matches, training session, and press interviews over the summer printed neatly upon it. He held it out loosely for Colin Mackenzie to take. He figured it needed an explanation so he didn't look like a crazy stalker, and to prove he had the information for legitimate reasons. "Could you sign this, sir? I've got this because I'm a Junior Quidditch Correspondent with the Daily Prophet this summer sir," AND A QUIDDITCH FANATIC. BUT NOT A STALKER. "And I play for Slytherin at Hogwarts." And they'd won the Quidditch Cup by a landslide and all the previous term. Also.... he peeked at Mr. Clark, and sort of mumbled, "Sir, Um.... if... if one of you duplicated this," He couldn't because underage magic and all, "Then maybe Mr Mackenzie could sign one for Alice too." Proper memorabilia then see? |
Text Cut: quotes He watched as the old man and the boy got whatever it was they wanted him to sign. Sherman had slipped off his tie and was nudging it over to him eagerly. This didn’t faze Colin at all. He had signed weirder things than the nifty zoo tie before. Then West looked through his bag and handed over a piece of parchment that had quite a bit of writing on it. Was that his teams schedule on it? If it hadn’t been for the logo on it, this coach would have been a bit concerned about why and how he had gotten this information. Shortly after the men handed over their things, Colin set them down on the table, took out his wand, and flicked it twice. The parchment the boy had given him doubled and a quill with magical ink perfect for signing just about anything appeared. Satisfied with his wand work, Colin started doing what he did best (besides all things Quidditch, of course). When he was done, he handed the tie and pieces of parchment back. “Here you go, boys!” Photos!: West Photos!: Sherman Photos!: Alice |
Quote:
"Want a shirt?" he offered grabbing one. "One for Treyen as well?" he asked holding up a second. Oh. And most importantly, "Cheesecake later?" Before they had to really gear up. Quote:
|
Quote:
He nodded at Sherman when he greeted him and then started scanning the small crowd that had formed in front of the table. Who were some of these people? They seemed to know them - apparently the one guy was a Quidditch star. Ok. Nolan didn't really follow Quidditch so he'd take their word for it. "Thanks for the donation!" he said cheerfully. That was a lot of galleons!! Quote:
He was just in SUCH A GOOD MOOD TODAY! Maybe he'd never go back to the store today. The employees could fend for themselves, right? |
Kitty knew Hogwarts was in a dangerous situation concerning money, and it was not just from reading the Prophet. Why, her own younger sister (Raven) who attended Hogwarts had had to be paying money just to pass in and out of the common room this term! This could NOT continue. And so Kitty walked up to the jars and started emptying her purse into it. Then her fingers slipped and she accidentally poured the thing into it! Annoyed with herself, she tried to take some of the coins back. "HEY!" |
Colin MacKenzie, too! Sorta. Quote:
Quote:
Though, admittedly, MacKenzie had an amazing track record under his belt. But he wouldn't be getting a paper shoved under his nose from her. She had other idols. Anyway. Carter. "...Sure," she said, accepting the shirt and, "Definitely," for the one for Treyen. They could MATCH. ....In the seclusion of their apartment. Alone. But for the two of them, it would be amusing. OH HEY HER NAME! Maybe SHE was going to get Quidditch love, too! HAH, Carter. But when Ellie saw who it was, she knew it wasn't for Quidditch...it was BETTER. HOW DID SHE NOT SEE HIM THERE??!!! "REYN!!!!!!!!!!" she unnecessarily shouted at her favorite former professor. |
Dav ^^ The carnival was in town!! Or whatever it was... Bryce might've been even more excited than some of the youngsters already there. He pointed to EVERYTHING as they passed by, showing Mags things and Layla things and that random guy walking by things. Though their first stop no doubt was going to be here. At the Hogwarts funding support booth. Little Mags was going to be going there someday! "Want me to get it?" he asked, glancing to his wife as he started fishing in the pockets of his pants for some coins. Big coins, small coins, pieces of parchment and wrappers, who knows what were left in these things. |
Quote:
Of course she was just mimicking her dad had been doing but Layla found it cute. She kept going.."oooh...and woooow" every time her daughter pointed out something new, just to patronize her. "Sure go ahead." She said in reply to Bryce. |
Quote:
Yea, that sound was awesome. They all knew it too. The rest of the coins in his back pockets were for SPENDING though. Wiping his hands on his sides, since they were kinda sweaty, he turned back to his family. "Where toooo now? Hmmmmm?" Poking Magnolia's belly, Bryce chuckled somewhat and glanced around the area. Everywhere. They should go everywhere. |
Quote:
She looked around and took in all the different attractions. "What about the petting zoo? Then princess Magnolia can have her face painted and then...hmm." She looked around. "Maybe the carousel?" Mags would like that wouldn't she? Wait was there one? She looked again. |
Quote:
Holding her, Bryce kinda started to bounce a little, somewhat of a twirl here and a wiggle there with his precious daughter while listening to Layla. Petting zoo. Mmhmmm. Face painted. Adorableness. CAROUSEL! YES! WHERE...was it actually... "Sounds good." He paused his weird dancing to look around for the things mentioned. "You happen to see which was where?" |
Quote:
Magz was busy enjoying the little jig her dad was doing. "Hmmm..I think the carousel is that way." She said pointing in the general direction." Though I think they said its a roaming carousel so it might not be in the same place as earlier before." Hmmm or something. |
Alice wasn't late. She wasn't. The fifteen year old had just been checking all the wrong places for certain people (aka staring at the Mechanical Hippogriff, SHE wanted to right that thing). At the moment, though, she was wandering the street area aimlessly, still looking. Maybe he was at the food area. And if he wasn't.. well. Food was there, too. Win-win situation, yeah? Was that her grandfather's booth over there? Text Cut: COLIN MACKENZIE and that one kid That kid.. interned? At the Daily Prophet? With his granddaughter? Funny, because Alice had incidentally forgotten to mention that, and Sherman did not need her spending MORE time with this boy than needed. And that topic would be revisited later, but he had to ignore it for now because.. because... BECAUSE COLIN MACKENZIE WAS SIGNING HIS TIE. (!!!!!!!!) Sherman didn't squeal, but if it was professional to make high-pitched, girlish noises, he would have been right then. "Thank you, sir! It was a pleasure meeting you." No, really. It was. He would treasure this experience for the rest of his elderly life, honest. Beaaaam. And.. and this day was only getting better, because.. Quote:
And then would CARTER, as well? BEST. DAY. EVER. The birth of his granddaughter had been bumped to second. Quote:
He was probably the only one in the area who were making them sign a zoo tie, though. So HAH. |
Quote:
"Things are good." he said with a nod. "Just got back from holiday." Which was an incredible amount of fun. "Took my parents on one of those muggle cruises." And other than that there was really nothing he had to announce. But his eyes did wander across the fair to see if Destiny was still around somewhere. He then rubbed his hands together. "Other than that... things are pretty low key. Just practice." he said with a shrug. Quote:
Quote:
Oh. And now she was being asked for an autograph. That was better than watching someone enjoy milking it in. "Treyen stopping by?" he asked looking around expecting to see him. Or, was he busy with that acting thing? Where were they anyway? He didn't actually know where they lived now that he thought about it. |
SPOILER!!: epic Mackenzie + Sherman + Alice This was the BEST. Not only had Colin Mackenzie been an amazing player in his time, but he was an epic coach and nobody could deny that he knew what he was doing, and he'd been with the Magpies in some form or another for West's whole LIFE. West was more than glad to have the opportunity to get his signature. THAT was a autograph to keep. WAIT TIL HE TOLD THEO AND BLUE. "Thank you, sir!" West was all grins as he took both bits of parchment back. He looked at his own autograph first and got a bit starry eyed. Amaaaazing. And one for Alice. Yessss. "Thanks. Maybe we'll get to talk to you in an official capacity later in the summer." Yeah! With the Daily Prophet and all. EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW? YES? ... but now... err... Alice's grandfather wasn't... y'know... talking to him or anything. West wasn't sure if he was supposed to.... say something? Was he supposed to... DIDN'T NEED TO. HE WAS SAVED. West lit up, spotting Alice. "Excuse me, sir." He excused himself, before hurrying over to her. "Alice! Guess who is over there? I mean aside from your grandfather. Colin Mackenzie. The Colin Mackenzie. And he signed this for you!" West held out the parchment for her. "And one for me!" He didn't even have time to get all awkward about the grandfather part because he was still excited about 'The Hot Scot' Mackenzie, and now entirely happy and excited to see Alice. Alice Fischer even managed to outshine Colin Mackenzie in West's eyes. She was prettier for one. For another, he was ready for kisses. Hiiiii Girlfriend. |
Quote:
Quote:
"Thanks!" Nolan said with a big grin. "Unfortunately, yes," he chuckled at Carter's question. "Ginger is not happy about having swollen ankles again, but only a few more months until Scarlett has a little brother or sister," he said with a smile. He was pretty sure it would be a boy. He wasn't sure. He had a FEELING, you know? Leftover Seer feelings, he hoped! "Ah, how was that? It didn't break on you or anything right? I hear that tends to happen," Nolan said with a shrug. That wouldn't be very fun on vacation! He looked around at the crowd, which seemed to have slowed down even with a famous person here. And the Quidditch star. HEHEHEHE. He stood up and waved a t-shirt. "Come donate and get your t-shirts here!" he called. |
Quote:
Sure she'll sign your tie, little old man! HAH, Carter. "Of course. ...Got a quill?" Because she didn't. And Ellie didn't see what Colin did to imitate him, and conjuring one hadn't come to mind on its own. Her eyes scanned the table for one. Quote:
Anyway. "No...Well...maybe... He's at his other job for a bit, I don't know when he'll be back." ...Nor did Ellie leave a note or anything saying where she was should he come home before her. She hadn't expected to be gone long. But now...she might hang out with Carter for a bit. And the old man who wanted her autograph. Heh. Quote:
"It's great!" Ellie answered. Everything was...pretty fantastic. And she just got asked for an autograph, did he SEE that?? Not that it was anything special...just...she tended to avoid that sort of thing. And each one was still kind of exciting anyway. So...you know...if that answered his career question. Otherwise, "Not exactly rise, though. Maybe next season. Finished same place as last year this past one." Which she was upset about for a bit. She was over it now, though. "How's...the family?" Settled life? |
Quote:
And then Carter could sign it, too. Also, he totally saw his granddaughter and that noodle boy over there. Totally did. Eyes for them. Quote:
And then she took a look that autograph- THAT WAS HIS REAL SIGNATURE- and... West's said his name. Where was her name? Nope. Nope, not there. Not that she wasn't happy to have COLIN MACKENZIE'S autograph, but that could have been for anyone, right? "Where is he?" She tried to peek around her boyfriend, attempting to get the booth into view, because SHE wanted to see a Colin Mackenzie, too. And also because Alice had to see if there was a grandfather watching before kisses happened. Which... there was. .... West hadn't talked to him, yeah? |
Quote:
"Over at the funding booth." But that wasn't important, where were his kisses and hugs and all? He slipped his arms around her in a hug. "Do you want to eat stuff?" And kisses. He was ready for kisses. |
Quote:
She still saw him looking. "But I wanna see Colin Mackenzie first. Then ride the Mechanical Hippogriff. And I'll win you a prize at the Plimpy bowl toss. After that, food." She had the day all planned out, see? Organized. |
Quote:
Not that any of that would stop West but STILL. |
Quote:
"Know what? It's okay. I can see Colin Mackenzie some other time." And just forge her name on that autograph.. she did have a sampling of his handwriting, did she not? "Let's go do stuff now." She wiggled out from under one of his arms, keeping the other slung around herself, and proceeded to tug him away from the funding booth. |
Quote:
Errr.... ... he was watching them. West sort of waved gingerly. Hi. Ahem. Colin some other time? West looked down at Alice. "Well, yeah we'll get to with this Daily Prophet gig for sure, right?" He smiled at her and looked over his shoulder again as Alice tugged him away. ... he was willing enough to go anyplace if it meant kisses. |
Quote:
He chuckled lightly. "Nah. Nothing like that. Everything went well." No breakdowns or accidents or anything of the sort. "Destiny did have a time shopping though." So... the only thing close to breaking was his wallet. Not really though. Quote:
"Soooo. Things well then?" he asked. Any wedding plans was what he meant. Treyen and Ellie had been dating since... forever really. |
Quote:
"They're good...Scarlett is starting to talk now, and Ginger is expecting again. With a strapping young boy, I'm sure," he chuckled. Oh at least he HOPED! Whatever the case may be, they were having another baby and that was awesome! "So, are you still mad at Ginger for taking me away from Hogwarts?" he asked with a chuckle. He knew that a lot of the students had blamed her for his departure, and yes, it had been awfully selfish of her but she had CHANGED! Quote:
"Ugh, I know that feeling," he added with a grin when Carter said his girlfriend had gone on a shopping spree. Ginger was practically a shopaholic! |

"Here you go, sir," she held it out to him. Grin. Quote:
She grinned wider. "Things are great. Same with you? And your animals?" Because he had more than she did, she knew. Without living on a farm or having a magizoologist dad like Max. Quote:
"Talk? Like what?" But more importantly, "A BOY! Brilliant! That'll be so much better than I girl! Unless...Scarlett," that was what he said her name was, right? "Isn't a girly girl, of course. Does she like Quidditch?" Because obviously if she did, she'd be be 'cool' in Ellie's book. For a baby, at least. "Not anymore," she laughed. Of course, she didn't care now that she wasn't even in Hogwarts anymore. "And actually, the professor who took your place, Bishop, I visit her quite often." Nod, nod. "She married the professor who took over Carlton's place when she left, same year as you, and he and I got along well." Ellie nodded some more. "It took a while to warm up to her, though." But now they had a girl, too! And Ellie was working on making her into a Quidditch fan. A Pride of Portree fan, even. |

She did not want to interrupt the younger man's conversation, so she waited until he was finished before speaking. While she waited, she slipped her own donation of thirty galleons into the jar. "Hello" she said brightly to both men "would it be alright if I ask you a few questions? it's for a daily prophet interview." Her quill and clipboard where held tightly out in front of her. |
Carter at the end! :P Quote:
"She likes the toy broom her aunt got her for Christmas, so I'd say things are looking up," he answered Ellie's question. He wasn't sure he WANTED Scarlett playing quidditch though, which he wouldn't tell Ellie, of course. She could hurt herself! She was never allowed to do anything that could hurt her. Just like she was never allowed to go to school, date, or get married until she was 30. Yes. Then Nolan would be sure she'd be safe. He nodded when she started talking about his replacement. He vaguely recalled the name of the woman who'd taken over, but she too had stepped down shortly after and was replaced by that other woman, the one he'd evaluated during his election time for the board. "The new divination professor seems...ok," he said. She didn't have tarot cards on her at all times like he did, and she didn't use crystal orbs, so those were two strikes already. "I mean, I had to evaluate her as part of my duties," he explained with a grin. Yes, his big, important, GOVERNOR duties. "I'm surprised you didn't run, actually, I hope you weren't intimidated by us old folk," he joked. "Carter certainly wasn't, right?" he asked his co-governor with a grin. |
*flops* Quote:
He laughed again. Girls will be girls, right? It was a good thing Destiny wasn't a huge shopper outside of pets and jewelry. He wouldn't be able to keep up. Of course... he had a hard time keeping up with just the pets and the jewelry. "How soon do you think they'll call a Governor's meeting?" he asked lowering his voice slightly. Because there were things that needed to be talked about, right? Quote:
"Things are good with me. Just got back from holiday." Which means Destiny had a new wardrobe and new jewelry. "The animals are good. Everything is surprisingly still alive." Even Marcus. She'd had that rat for as long as he knew her. And it was still "I heard you got a rabbit...?" Right? It was a rabbit... right? Quote:
Or... an interview. That was cool too. "Yeah. Of course. What would you like to know?" Quote:
"And I had to make sure the Board had a bit of young blood in it." |

And it seemed they reached the end of the penned areas for the petting zoo and were coming up on some tables set up with banners for each of the four houses, along with the hogwarts emblem. BUT none of that brought any attention to Fina....NOPE, because she was too distracted by a FAMILIAR head of RED HAIR. Barely giving a glance to the people at the booth (and the fact that one of them was another of her former students), she dropped some coins into the jar and then turned her attention to the redhead. Quote:
"HOW in Wenlock's name ARE you doing?!? ARE you like still playing quidditch?" What a dumb question. The redhead BETTER have still been playing. "GUESS WHAT?!? I played my first game! Last term! Keeper!" Fina was beaming now. |

They made it through the rest of the petting zoo with no further weird sightings only to come across a table to raise funds for Hogwarts. Addison was well aware of the struggles even without Fina and the Daily Prophet filling him in on the matter. After all it was Gringotts that was part of the reason for it and it was a good thing it hadn't soured or created any stresses between the two on opposite sides...kinda. The cursebreaker moved to add his own coins into the mix quite willing to support his alma mater, smiling politely at the governors behind the table before glancing over at where Fina's own attention had gone. Obviously a former student...he mused to himself, sticking his free hand in his pocket casually and watching the interaction. |

She wasn't having kids. Ellie GRINNED at the mention of a broom. "BRILLIANT!" Completely brilliant! Those were the best gifts, honestly. And only the coolest parents let their kids have toy broomsticks, right? Right. Reyn was totally an awesome dad. "If you ever need a flying tutor..." she said, oh so casually, "Owl me." And she was dead serious about that. She'd love to teach REYN'S daughter how to fly. If anything, it was a good excuse to see him more. And the Ginger who stole him away. The new Divination professor...yeah, Ellie wouldn't know them. She wouldn't even know if it was the same professor that taught her final terms at school. But even if it was, she wouldn't know them. She completely avoided the subject after Reyn left. Then he mentioned duties, and she started laughing...only to laugh MORE when he brought up her running. "No way, Reyn." HER on the Board of Governors? Seriously? And no, silly, she wasn't intimidated. "I want nothing more to do with school than watching the Quidditch matches." Which was completely true and she was doing a good job of it. Running for the Board would have been against everything. "Or," she added, "If they did another Alumni Ball thing. They really should, too." She addressed both Reyn and Carter as she said that. Could THEY do anything about it? It would be LOADS of fun, bothering her brother all night, and seeing a bunch of old friends all together again. Namely the boring married ones. Quote:
Holiday? "Really? From where?" If it was nice, it'd be next on her 'To-Go' list, which was pretty empty at the moment, seeing as they'd already planned the vacations that were on there. "Surprisingly? You take good care of them, yeah?" All of their animals were still alive, but she wouldn't be surprised about them. They - mostly Treyen - are very good at feeding them and such. Their animals are pretty basic. It's just Charley and Rufus that are a bit of a handful. She laughed. "I got a bunny," they were BUNNIES, okay Carter? "When I went into my seventh year." So it's not like she JUST got it. "And then...a year later, that Christmas, Treyen got me another. And then they had six bunnies. So we have eight in all." More than they bargained for, but they refused to give them away. And they're quite lovely. There was more laughing to Carter's response about running for the Board. But that was a topic that - congratulations to Carter and Reyn aside - she would rather avoid. It was boring, grown-up type stuff. Quote:
Just as quickly as her smile disappeared, it reappeared. She didn't even bother with groaning about how to NOT USE THAT NAME, and instead went directly for a greeting. "HADLEY!!!" She threw her arms open for a hug. They could hug. Reyn would have gotten a hug if he wasn't behind that bloody table. "I'm great!!" Better, seeing her old professors. And to think she took them for granted. Mostly Hadley, actually, since she knew how much Reyn meant to her, but only when he disappeared. "And I am still playing, of course." You know, they needed to keep up with her post-Hogwarts career. Sheeeeesh. Hadley Quidditch! "I KNOW!!!" Ellie beamed back, "I SAW! I went to watch Aidan and YOU were playing!! You did SO well, too, Hadley!" She was EXTREMELY proud of her former professor who she helped teach how to fly in the first place. "But what in Merlin's name were you thinking playing in a match?! You must have been flying LOADS since I left!" |
SPOILER!!: The BOY & the Quidditch Seeker <3 She hadn't even really heard Addison and his sly comment about her being minister. NO. Cause there were way more important things right now, like the fact that one of her favorite Ravenclaws was standing right THERE. Releasing his hand for a moment, she threw her arms around the redhead in return greeting, grinning widely, as she noticed for the first time who was behind the table collecting the funds. One of them being her former colleague and prefect. "Hi Nolan," she said, in brief, before turning back to Ellie and placing her hands on her shoulders. "You look well. Healthy." Obviously by fault of the exercise. Which wasn't a fault really, because well it was exercise and it was a good thing. "Good, good. Portrees, right?" Cause she totally remembered. Just she knew Andrew's kid brother was playing professionally too, and his kid sister was the sports healer for the Portrees. "That Rose girl... she's your healer still, right? Or ... well, she's not Rose anymore." No, she was married, but she sucked at remembering married names for those whom she didn't keep in contact with regularly. "It was all in the name of a school fundraiser! AND I blocked a shot!!" Fina beamed widely. And passed out of shock, afterwards, but you know.... "I haven't really though. I practiced a little on the pitch here or there, but yea." Not really. It was fun though. And speaking of fun, she was being a TOTALLY rude girlfriend; ignoring her beau like that. "Ooopssss.... forgive me. Addison? This is Ellie, one of my former students who helped me to understand quidditch better." And she helped her better understand numbers. "Ellie. This is Addison, my ..." She paused, hesitating on the word. "My soul companion." MMHM. TOTAL numbers reference and better than using the 'b' word. |
SPOILER!!: Soul companion and housemate There was an acknowledgement of another presence at the table. A man named Nolan whom Addison would peg as a former colleague of his companions judging by his age. But it was the young woman who had the main focus and the talk had settled on quidditch. The girl's career as a professional player, or so he deduced, and the older woman's chance in a game of her own. Addison had been so pained that he had been forced to miss it but he hadn't been able to escape an order from his supervisor on a case of his. He's just have to settle on the memories of others. And then the attention was turned to him. Soul companion Now that never failed to sound so much more....elegant...than boyfriend, the cursebreaker obviously getting the reference the professor was making as a fellow number cruncher. However he wasn't sure he had expected the confession of status. "You're forgiven..." he said quietly looking to Fina before back to the redhead who he was being introduced to. "Nice to meet you, Ellie," Addison greeted with a nod offering a hand to shake instead of the more overly friendly offering of a hug as the arithmancer had given. |
Sorry for the lateness, I thought the thread was closed Quote:
"Oh, no problem. Always happy to donate to education" replied Madison, a donation to Hogwarts so the donations could be a success. Children deserved a good education and good quality school supplies and living conditions. "Thank you" she said, accepting the shirt. "I know the festival may be closing up soon so I won't hold you back here for very long."Madison began. She asked her questions all at once, as though the replies would seem like they were back and forth. She had come a little late, and on short notice too. "First of all, do you believe the funding support was successful?" Quill poised, she jotted down notes. "And are you the only funding support for Hogwarts?". There could be more than one booth at another festival, or there could be a headquarters. Last of all she asked two more questions. "How many witches and wizards were out here today to donating? What kinds of people?" she needed to know what majority of consumers were coming out to donate. "Do you believe Hogwarts will be up and running like it was before the financial crisis?". She may think of more questions later. |
Text Cut: Hadley and her 'soul companion' lolol Oh yeah! Hadley knew Reyn! Wasn't this nice? They were all together again!! "Of course I'm healthy," Ellie laughed. Come on, Hadley. She always was. She HAD to be, really. And she always balanced her chocolate binges with fruit and plenty of exercise. "Yeah! Portree. The purple robes." That was Quidditch-for-Hadley basic enough wasn't it? Only, Ellie was surprised with Hadley knowing more than most fans. No one payed much mind to learn the teams' Healers. "Mia! She is still our Healer. How'd you know that?" No, really, how? Hadley talking about her own Quidditch match was amusing, to say the least. "I know! I saw!" Didn't she say that already? "I'm surprised you flew in a match, then. Fundraiser or not." But proud. Oh so proud. Not that she'd say that out loud. It was weird to say you were proud of your teacher. It was supposed to be the other way around. And...Ellie didn't even notice that Hadley had been attached to a male prior to the hug. She had Hadley-tunnel vision. "Hi," she greeted, after Hadley'd introduced her. ...When Hadley introduced HIM, however... "SOUL COMPANION?!" Her eyes widened and flitted back and forth between Hadley and Addison. One, that was the lamest term, ever, Hadley. Two, HADLEY HAD A BOYFRIEND!!! "YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND!!" Or... Her eyes grew WIDER. "OR HUSBAND??!!" Boyfriend, she could handle. Hadley suddenly having a husband would be WAY too much of a shock at the moment. |
SPOILER!!: boy and quidditch seeker XD OH goooooddd.... Addison was such a nice gentleman, forgiving her for being rude and not introducing immediately. Smiling politely as they shook hands, Fina looked back at the redhead when she confirmed she was indeed with Portree; purple robes though, she didn't remember oddly enough. But Ellie was surprised she knew the healer. "Well... I don't really know her, but her eldest brother, Andrew, he was a year older than me. In Hufflepuff." So duh, of course she knew him. She knew Mia only slightly, seeing as the girl was only a mere second or third year when she graduated. "And then we caught up briefly in each other's recent activities when he ran for Board of Governors a couple years ago." Mmhm. SO yea.... She was surprised she flew in a match? Why ... was it a BAD THING?! "It was a fundraiser. For fun, though." So why so surprised?! It wasn't like she was playing for a trophy or anything. BUT THEN....... OH. She ... soul companion. No. Why did she have to say that 'b' word so loud. For being in thirties, Fina felt a school-girl's blush creep across her cheeks. "No. No, not husband. Just boyfriend." Was that a big deal? "But ssssh", she held a single finger up towards Ellie's lips. |
SPOILER!!: The Girls Addison was simply an audience member to the talk of quidditch, never a player himself even if he didn't have the...concern about flying Fina had had. The names being passed seemed vaguely familiar to him, at least Andrew being around his own age. But then he had no need to add his two cents into the conversation as it went on around him. He couldn't help coughing at the mention of husband though, the word so...so...loud even among the never-ending din of the street festival. Even the title of boyfriend had been exaggerated in tone and volumn by the redhead just as her eyes had widened in shock at the revelation. Was it really such a surprise for Fina to have such a connection? Or was it him that was the cause of the commotion? Addison couldn't be sure but he was sure it was probably best to keep either a little more on the down-low. The blush on his companion was cute though, making Addison smile. But yes, Sssssshhhh. Like...a little quieter, capice? Not that they were hiding their relationship, Hadley certainly wouldn't have introduced him the way she had if that had been the case. But it didn't need to be broadcast. Besides, the topic of husbandry was up in the air at the moment. |
It had been a veeeeery long day for Eric until it was finally lunch break. Merlin's beard! The bloody shop's running mad! Of course, considering school term will start not too long from now and kids had their broomsticks sent to their shop and most of the time, he felt like fainting at the damages caused and he even had to explain how some of them were damaged beyond repairable and needed to be replaced. Do kids these days play quidditch with dragons or extra bludgers or something? And it was always this time of the year when Eric really missed playing quidditch. Probably from repairing all the brooms? Who knew... He apparated to Diagon Alley at lunch, grabbed a light lunch and headed for the festival. As he strolled around, he came across a booth. Hogwarts... Funding? Funding for what, exactly? Hmm... Oh, right! The goblins attack. Well, a few galleons won't hurt... His brother was going to attend Hogwarts, after all. As Eric walked towards the booth, he slid his hand into his pocket and pull out 10 galleons. "Good day, governors," he greeted smilingly as he dropped the galleons into one of the jars. Then a couple of figures caught his attention. He double checked to make sure he wasn't seeing things, like muggles said, out of stress from working. His jaw dropped to see who they were. "GOOD MERLIN!" he exclaimed. Had he watched quidditch matches, yes. Had he played quidditch, yes. As the matter of fact, he was a captain himself. But had he ever met a professional quidditch player, in this case, players it was almost like a dream. |
Text Cut: The couple So Hadley knew about Mia. And knew she was the Portree healer because of a recent catch up with another Rose brother. Okay. That made a lot more sense than Hadley randomly knowing this information about the team. Ellie nodded, accepting the explanation, but not really having further comment on it. "Yeah," she laughed softly, "But that doesn't meant he students would go easy on you. A match is a match." And Hadley wasn't very experienced. But she survived! And played quite well. "Would you do another?" Would Hogwarts HAVE another? Ellie sooo had to see that one, too. Hopefully her own schedule would allow for it. Onto more important things...HADLEY HAD A BOYFRIEND!! Not husband, thank Merlin. BUT BOYFRIEND!! "Since when?!?!!" the redhead BEAMED at her. Not that she wanted to know the gritty details of how they met, when they started dating, where they went...She just wanted to know HOW out of the loop she was. Why wasn't Hadley one of those professors she wrote to regularly to keep in touch with? In her excitement, Ellie kept glancing between the two. But the boyfriend seemed to be on the quiet side, which dampened her spirit a little. HOW was she supposed to get to know him if he didn't talk, eh? Then, Hadley had a finger to her mouth. The girl blinked. Apparently, she had to keep quiet to. "Why?!" she whisper!shouted. Quote:
The wrong way was to shout obnoxiously. Still, Ellie blushed slightly upon giving the man a glance, simply to see who shouted. Then, pretending she didn't know what he was shouting about, inched slightly closer to Hadley. |
