Diagon Alley Board of Governors Polling Location

http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps388bd67d.jpg

Located in the middle of the very busy Diagon Alley, under a pink-purple tent, and cordoned off from people walking through with pink-purple velvet cords, is a line of booths decorated with shiny pink-purple velvet drapes and a variety of anti-cheating, anti-fraud, and anti-dark magic counter charms.

Before you can get to the booths, though, and can receive your super important ballot, you must check in at the long wooden table set in front of them. Be sure to have your wand and one form of identification ready for when you step up to the table, as the Board of Elections employees are trying to keep this process running smoothly and quickly to accommodate as many voters as possible.

Once you have been checked in, you'll be handed an Official Board of Governors Election Ballot. Regardless of whether you're a Diagon Alley shopkeeper, assistant, or just a random passer-by, once you have your ballot, you are free to use one of the handsome booths to cast your vote. Remember, only pick nine candidates and do not leave any voting paraphernalia in the booth you use.

On your way out, don't forget to turn your ballot into the locked charm ballot safe near the check-in! Thank you for exercising your right to vote!

OOC NOTE: While we do have an actual Board of Elections played by members from the Minister's Office in the Ministry, you do not have to wait for them to RP your character voting. Just be considerate and do not RP in detail for someone else. =) And remember, only fill out the actual questionnaire once! It's good for three characters!

Not wanting to be seen or noticed, Veronica Lafay walked into the polling location with a hood over her head. She peeked out from behind it long enough to check in, and then she quickly covered her head once again. She slipped into a voting booth, hastily marked her choices, turned in her ballot, and then left before she could encounter anyone.

Just as Wesley left work for the evening, he noticed that the Board of Governor's polling booths were finally open. Ohh, yippee! Wesley got his wand out and checked in excitedly before scooting over to a booth. After a few minutes of recalling his favorite candidates, Wesley voted before heading back home for the night.

Louisa was excited. Not only did she receive her acceptance letter to be an AMBASSADOR sort of but she got the chance to practice this even before she enrolled in the program! She believed in destiny and that nothing is a coincidence and everything has a reason.

She waltzed into the voting tent with a big confident smile on her face. The employees had to see her ID and give her the ballot paper before she was allowed to head to one of the voting booths. It didn't take her longer than five minutes to choose the names of the candidates she trusted and thought of as professional enough to handle being part of Hogwarts. Once she was done, she turned her vote in the locked charm ballot safe corner and strolled out of the tent.

Merlin, it had been a while since he'd been in Diagon Alley. But it sure felt nice! Fletcher lowered his stunna shades as he got closer to the voting booths, in case they needed to check his eyes to I.D. him, and got his wand out of his back pocket too.

Just because he'd been abroad didn't mean he'd been out of the loop. He'd been following this election from a distance ie, in the papers, and wanted to vote for only the best people. Mallory was going to be FOUR in a few days, and then before he knew it, she'd be FIVE, and then SIX, and then practically Hogwarts age! So he needed to make sure she had the best people possible running Hogwarts when she got there. The BoG ran Hogwarts, right?

Regardless, the twenty-four-year-old was happy and proud to cast his vote when it was his turn, and made certain to pick nine people with awesome first AND last names. He turned his ballot in with a whistle and put his shades back on as he headed down the alley. Time to visit his Paradise!

Making her way to the polls, Kat got in line behind a few people and pulled her ID out and unholstered her wand. When she got to the front she showed them both and took the ballot before putting her ID back and reholstering her wand. Heading for the booth she quickly filled in her decisions and dropped her ballot off at the safe and headed back to her shop.

Erik waited patiently in the small line in Diagon Alley. When it was his turn to vote, he silently handed over his identification and his wand, watching carefully until both were returned to him. He accepted the ballot with a small nod and then went into a booth to vote.

It didn't take long, for him. He folded his ballot with a perfect crease and swiftly exited the polls, dropping the paper into the box on his way out. He had other places to be.

Coops was EXXCCIITTEDD!

Not only did he HAVE to exercise his right to vote, as a role model and a representative of the public, but he would soon know whether or not his campaign bid had been successful!

Ok.

He was NERVOUS, but still super excited.

Big fat grin plastered to his face, Cooper had waited patiently in line until it was his turn to vote, and vote he did.
Once he was certain he was happy with his choices, he folded up his ballot and slipped in into the box on the way out.

DONE!

Showing her wand and I.D. when it was her turn and taking the paper ballot that was handed to her, Emmanulle headed into a booth to cast her vote. She made sure to pick the nine candidates that she felt would make Hogwarts a better place. After all, that's what this whole thing was about, right? Making Hogwarts a better place? And she certainly didn't think that was what was happening right now. Having a Headmistress that allowed students to dunk adults not to mention falling asleep on the job so to speak was NOT bettering the school.

Anyway, once she had filled out the ballot, she slid it into the charmed ballot box and then exited the tent for her job at the tattoo parlor.

Houston entered the tent shaking his head at the color scheme. Nobody was going to take this election seriously if when they approached the polling place, they were met with something that looked like Barney the dinosaur and a bottle of Pepto Bismol mated. Not that he was taking it seriously anyway. What did he care if some silly school was made better or not? Well, except the student safety bit. Because, like any other human with a heart, he did care about that. And the things that he heard had gone on at that school, well he was surprised anyone was still sending their kids there.

He approached the check in table and showed the person his wand and I.D., slipping his sunglasses down for a second. Once that whole process was done and he had his ballot, he walked into one of the booths, cast his nine votes, slipped his ballot into the box and left the tent without another word to anyone.

It was time to vote. Atticus was not entirely sure how he should feel about this day, but either way, all the campaigning and such would be done, the wait would be over, and Hogwarts would have a full Board of Governors once again. That was certainly something to be glad about.

He checked in with his wand and identification and accepted his ballot. He made his way into one of the booths and voted relatively quickly and easily. With that done, he submitted hit ballot into the box and headed off.

Vashti had tried to keep up with the whole Board of Governors thing as best as she could. It was certainly interesting. And now it was time to vote, which she had definitely planned to do.

She gave her wand and identification to the person behind the check in table, smiling as she accepted them once again along with a ballot slip. The former 'Claw went into an empty booth and took a few minutes to carefully make her choices. Then she was out of the booth, she slipped her ballot into the charmed box, and then she made her way back to the Owl Post.

Today was THE day! Charles approached the booth and waited for his turn while tapping his palms against his thighs. Yep. Today was THE day that his candidate, Carter Phillips, got elected to join the Board. He wished that he could say he had done enough to lead the boy to this point, but really it had been mostly Carter just being himself and Charles had simply provided a few tricks and cookies along the way.

With confidence in his stride, Charles picked up a ballot and began to write Carter's name nine times down the candidates he felt comfortable with giving the opportunity to help better future generations of Hogwarts students and dropped it into the box.

Now to go meet up with his ambassador of cuteness for lunch!

He wanted to go vote nooow...but he had to wait for his wife and son. Xavier turned around and smiled. His three year old was trying not to step on the cracks on the cobbled ground.

This was going to take a while.

It didn't matter, though. If his boy wanted to skip all the cracks on the ground he'll skip them all. He grinned up at his wife who was holding their son's hand while he skipped.

Ursulla Baltazar, not quite a patient woman, walked along with her baby...patiently. She caught her husband's eyes, green against blue, and smiled.

Voting day had come and she was just as eager to get this over with as Xavier was. She didn't demonstrate it as much as Xavier did, but she had the same, well interests as he did and she wanted Peyton to be safe at Hogwarts. She didn't much care of the other children, they had their own parents, but her daughter needed to be safe.

"You don't want us to carry you?" Xavier asked Cornelius. The boy looked up with a pout.

"Imma big boy, da'. I walk." The boy wore a determined look in his eyes and took his father's hand in his tiny one, continuing his skipping. Xavier sighed. His baby - two months away from turning four - was growing too fast.

The family walked down to the voting polls, the two adults presented their wand and another form of identification. Both Ursulla and Xavier parted shorty when filling in their ballot, and once they were done, they turned it in and exited, and headed to the ice cream shop.

Brilliant, Beautiful, and Bright! Today was such a great day to vote!
Vote Vote Vote Warfield loved to vote, he loved to have his voice heard. In this case more read, but take what you can get right?
Warfield got a ballot and moved into the line making his way to the front until he presented his wand rather gleefully, after he was cleared he filled out the ballot making extra sure a certain someone's name was marked extra carefully. He deposited his ballot in the safe and moved his way back to the Leaky.

Shane didn't really CARE about the Board of Governors and this silly election they had. His encounter with one of the candidates in his Alley had given him the thought that the people running for this thing weren't worth the votes they'll get. He checked in and all that stuff. He hated how time had to be taken up and stuff. He then went to one of the booths with a ballot in hand and quickly chose his candidates and finally slipped his ballot inside the safe. No, he did not want to stay here long enough to be exposed to the public. He then left, brisk walking away from the crowd.

Dianna finally found the time to get out the house. It was only just for today, however, because it was the Board of Governors election. She had a few reasons why she decided to vote. One was because she was an alumna of the school. Another was because her sister, Katrina, was a current fifth year student there. The last one was because her baby boy, Gale, who soon would probably go to Hogwarts when he was old enough.

Forming a line, Dianna waited for her turn to check in. Once it was her turn, the blonde smiled and presented her wand and identification. Receiving a ballot, Dianna said her "thank you" to the person in charge and made her way to an open booth. After voting, she went to drop ballot inside the safe. That was easy. Now she was done voting, maybe she should go back home and make snacks for her family. Yeah, that was a sure thing to do.

This was it. Voting day. Carter was admittedly nervous. Why? Because. This was a pretty big deal.

And not just because he was running.

This was an adult thing. He was an adult. And he was doing something mature and grown up. He was voting! His parents would be so proud.

When it was his turn, he checked in with his wand and ID. He took his ballot and headed to one of the booths. He carefully cast his vote before exiting the booth. He turned in his ballot and grinned proudly. All his hard work. And his name was on a ballot. That in itself was a pretty amazing achievement, right?

And with that, the candidate headed off to enjoy the rest of the day.

Emmaleigh had been carefully observing the whole Board of Governors thing via the Prophet, and knew it was the day to vote. She had specially pulled herself out of bed today just to do the whole thing. Not like it really mattered to her personally, but she still had friends at the school, and they all needed the best didn't they? Doing the check in thing, she voted for those she thought best. Turning in her ballot, she left as quickly as possible, not wanting to be seen by anyone she knew.
