OverviewThe Thanatos family was always a family of 4 - the patriarch, Renner Thanatos, the twins, Vera and Vasco, and the youngest little cherub, Vesper. But as the kids all began to grow up and leave the nest to go to boarding school to start their magical educations, they also couldn't help but worry about leaving their Papa home all alone by himself.
Which was why in the summer of 2111, the two girls hatched a plan to try to set their Papa up with someone else. They hadn't expected that unsuspecting individual to be Quidditch star, Raju Misra, nor did they expect exactly how well their half thought out plan would truly go.
Now in the summer of 2112, the two men have been together for nearing a year and things have been progressing well. But how well will the kids and Raju mesh together? And will things continue to go well? Characters

Well then, one could say that Raju was living the dream, all thanks to his husband. And no, he never minded seeing Renner in such a state. In fact, he found all such scenarios to be quite… attractive. Or extra attractive, rather. “Blue brain,’’ he answered promptly. “Too smelly. Too mouldy.” The Quidditch coach had never tried it nor would he ever. Now he chuckled. “What would you do if I said that’s the only reason I said it?” The question was posed in a flirtatious manner. He patted Ren’s face then headed for the door with a smirk.
“Hmm. I guess we can wing it. Thanks, love.” Ren was always such a gentleman. Raju exited and inhaled the fresh air deeply. Then a hand was held out for the other man to take. “Maybe we can see if we find some more local chocolates.” Which reminded him that there was still the surprise reveal he needed to make to Renner. Perhaps during the course of their current adventure. "Should we go left or right?" |

Living the dream? Just so Raju made sure to include his wonderful husband in on this dream. Joking. Ren was already living the dream, the man had all he could ever ask for and so much more. Well, he would surely have to keep that in mind! Ahem. Ha! Renner chuckled. "Smelly and moldy? That's fair I suppose.. but have you actually tasted it before?" He had. And honestly, he himself wasn't even a fan of said cheese. GASP! Brown eyes widened in mock surprise. "Rude. So rude." Lucky for Raj that Ren knew he was only teasing.
"Wing it we shall." Why did this sound like something their children would say? Perhaps they wall rubbed off on him a little too much over the years. Ren winked, following the husband outside, his hand slipping into the other man's. "Oh? So you ARE looking to spoil dinner tonight?" The laughter was playful and tone teasing once more. Surprise? This man was none the wiser when it came to any of that. All he assumed was they were on yet another short holiday to enjoy each other's company. "Right. You can't go wrong with choosing right." Hopefully.

Any dream of his would always involve Renner, and the kids too! This wasn’t even a question. His family was his life, even though the three older kiddos were off doing their own things. At least he had Vi close for now. “Nope. The odor and the look is enough to make me not want to. I don’t think you would either.” Or maybe Ren would? Now, he laughed again. “That’s me! The rude one.” He winked, indicating to the husband that the teasing was well received.
Perhaps the kiddos’ spontaneity had rubbed off on their fathers. It would make sense given that the family was a tight - knit one. The second Renner’s hand settled snugly in his, Raju felt more at peace. He was always calm, hence his nickname ‘Captain Cool’, but Renner was a bonus for his nervous system. “Sort of,’’ the Quidditch Coach replied. “You know what my sweet tooth’s like… I can hardly resist them.” He tugged the other man in the chosen direction. “Though, if we do come across a restaurant first, I wouldn’t object to us having a real meal. Then all was right in the world. Renner couldn't agree more. Why did all the children have to grow up so quickly? It would only be a few more years until Viano was off on his own as well. Then what would they do? Their home would be very quiet. Laughter couldn't be held back this time. "That is fair. It is a rather odd cheese, is it not?" It took a special person to be able to eat that. "I'm glad we can agree on one thing." They agreed on many many things that much was true.
Was it the kids who rubbed off on them or the other way around? Well, Raju was quite welcome for the sense of calm that he brought to him. "Yes, yes.. but that sweet tooth of yours always helps me out." He always had Raj to taste test all of his sweets and give an honest opinion. Nod nod. "Alright, I wouldn't say no to a nice meal. Oh, I would say perhaps a solid three and a half? By the time we find a place to sit and eat though I'm sure that number will rise." His hunger level always went up whenever food was involved and within reach.

The idea of them adopting another kiddo had crossed Raju’s mind but only briefly. He thought that their four was enough; besides, he wanted to have all the time with Renner after Vi went out into the world on his own. Call him greedy but he knew what he wanted. As for that cheese, yes it was indeed a very odd one. But now he was putting that out of his mind and simply enjoying the views and company.
“It’s a good thing you decided to date me, then,’’ Raju remarked, pausing to peek at a window displaying comfortable looking ski jackets for sale. In that moment, he was also taken back to the day he and Renner first met, when those girls of his faked an emergency situation in Diagon Alley. Of course, they confided the truth sometime later after he and Renner started dating. He was also thinking about their first date, that incomplete one at the Bowling Alley which had to be completed at another time. Not that the overall first date had ended badly.

Hm, so no more children for them. Perhaps they could discuss a dog. Or maybe even a cat. Not that it mattered right this moment but Ren occasionally liked to think ahead. As for Raju being greedy, that was more than alright with him.
"The best idea. And we have the girls to thank for that." Sneaky as they had been, if it weren't for them he wouldn't be here with Raju right now. So, technically all he could do was thank them. When the husband stopped, so did he. The ski jackets now catching his attention too. It was a very nice selection for a small shop. "When am I not hungry when we're out and about?" Sampling as much food as he could when on vacation was what everyone did, right? The jackets? "Well that's an easy one for Vesper. The more colorful the happier she'll be." Colorful and bright.

If anyone were to ask Raju right now if he wanted to adopt a dog, a cat or any other pet, his answer would be a resounding 'no'. Cheddar was enough, even if the little guy was mostly now cared for by Vesper. The main reason for his answer would be because of all his time being with Renner - from the time they began dating to them being married - they had not been without much free time with the kiddos around. Not that Raju was complaining.
“We sure do, and they know it all too well. You know what? They’d be excellent matchmakers if they really want to.” Raju doubted that even was aware of what his scheming girls had been up to. “That’s true, you and your generous appetite.” He chuckled, thinking it was a pity that he himself was not a really good cook. Otherwise, he would be making surprise meals for Renner. As it was, his husband was the one always cooking for him.
Renner’s comment made him laugh. “We definitely need to get Vesp one of these then. We can circle back here after we’ve explored a bit more.” He tugged the other man’s hand. “Come on, slow poke.” Raju’s tone was teasing. | |
