The Desk of Wesley Kutcher, Senior Undersecretary http://i33.tinypic.com/azgmk4.jpg After you walk through the doors and enter the Minister of Magic's office, the first thing that catches your eye in the area is a large oak desk near a larger set of doors. It's not exactly an office, but for Wes, it'll do. It's quiet and a great place to do work, and he's added a few touches on his desk, including numerous potted plants and a framed picture of his brothers--Paul, Todd, and Drew. Before you can see the Minister of Magic, Alexandra Carlton, you first need to be let in by Wesley Kutcher, the Senior Undersecretary. Once you check in with him, you'll either be let into the office or invited to take a seat in one of the numerous cushy armchairs around the small area if Miss Carlton is busy. |
Wesley Kutcher....Senior Undersecretary Well that wasn't entirely expected, the man mused as he walked down the Level One corridor, his gait still not 100% from the burns acquired earlier in the week. Especially when he thought he had transferred to a different department all together. Gavin had to admit it had been a while since he last saw the man in question and since the department had finally decided to calm down a bit, he opted to make a visit. So that was what brought him to the area outside the minister's office and unfortunately finding it empty. He frowned and looked around as if debating on leaving a note or just coming back at another time. |

"Hey Gavin! Long time no see!" Wes said as he walked up to his desk. "What brings you around here?" he asked with a smile. He wondered if he was just out and about, or if he needed to see Allie for...something. He hoped not, cause he had NO idea if she was in and he didn't want to just awkwardly let him in to an empty office. |

"Hi Wes. And yes it certainly has been that" he greeted back. "Oh just figured I'd stop by to visit an old friend since I had the opportunity," the charms worker answered. "You know how things are...quiet one moment, chaos the next," he mused innoscently with a chuckle. The perils of working in a department amptly called accidents and catastrophes, even if you expect to deal with those two things more outside the office then in. |
Quote:
"Oh, I'll bet. So how are things down there? How's the new Department Head?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. He had to admit, he was rather curious about the person who'd taken over his former job. "And how are they dealing with Dan?" he added with a mischevious smile. |
Quote:
"Sion...Miss Jetza is fitting in well, getting her sea legs in the department," he answered sitting back and letting himself relax just a little. He was outside the Minister's door after all. "Just had a meet and greet that turned out a bit...interesting. I'm sure you'll hear a thing or two up here since we did require the assistance of law enforcement and security," he explained shaking his head with amusement as he remembered. All things considered seeing as they all survived it was just another day of excitement and peril. Gavin couldn't help sighing as mention was made of the division head. "hmmm..As well as anyone can handle Dan. Though he has appeared to have moved on to pink pidgeons rather then magenta guinea pigs." |
Quote:
Ewww. Pidgeons. That sounded....messy. "Ahhh. Some things never change, I guess," he said with a sigh. Maybe as Senior Undersecretary he could talk some sense into him, or at least be a bit more threatening....nah, probably not. |
Quote:
"Learned a few things I didn't know about my collegues, especially the newer ones," the charms worker finally replied starting off. "Besides the starter introductions played a modified version of spin the bottle where someone got to ask the one it spun to a question. You can only imagine the range of questions though most were pretty normal," Gavin added lowering his gaze as he thought back to his own question. His hand reaching up to absently brush the back of his neck. He shook his head at Wes' comment about Dan and his nature. "I would imagine not." |
Quote:
"What kind of things? Any juicy secrets revealed?" he asked with a mischevious smile. "I won't tell, I swear! We can do the Unbreakable Vow!" he joked. Yeah, only joking. The Unbreakable Vow SCARED him. |
Quote:
Gavin lowered his hand and looked up at Wes' words, trying not to cringe at his mischievious smile, chuckling a little at the mention of the Unbreakable vow. "No...no Unbreakable Vow needed. At least I don't think so...the reason Frida loves her job is not entirely secret," he replied randomly picking a tidbit of info to start off with. "But...um...lets just say..." he started again, breaking off as he gathered his way of delievery. truth be told the reveal in the conference room while ackward and embarishing, had made it easier to tell everyone. "well what I mean is...no one can claim they don't know about Tasha and I," Gavin finally finished, trying to look innoscent. |
Quote:
For some reason, Gavin was stuttering. Hmmm, only one thing made men stutter (and he knew from experience) WOMEN. So when Gavin finally dropped the bomb, Wes wasn't TOO surprsied and he grinned at his friend. "Well, I didn't! Congrats on the new relationship, mate," he told him with a smile. Suddenly, a look of worry came upon his face. "Wait, you ARE together, right?" he asked, suddenly worried he'd jumped to conclusions and Gavin meant something COMPLETELY different. |

The younger man visibly relaxed the rest of the way when he heard the older man’s congratulations. He didn’t know why but somehow his response mattered. Perhaps because he was someone who had known both of them for a good amount of time. “Thanks Wes,” he replied before nodding as the older man suddenly seemed unsure of his response. “Technically we are in the sense she expressed her feelings by asking and I expressed by my answer. We haven’t actually gone out as a couple rather then friends yet,” he added showing the youngness of the relationship. |
Quote:
"Ahhh, I see. Well best of luck to both of you," Wes told him with a smile. Knowing the relationship history of both of them, Wes was sure they'd be a very good match. "If you're looking for a possible date location, I recommend the restaurant across the street, the Muggle cafe. Their sandwiches are delicious!" he exclaimed. |
Quote:
"I'll have to keep that in mind when I make plans for Saturday," he mused with a nod. He remembered stopping in there after he and Tasha had run into each other at the bookstore but then hadn't really eaten anything. "Now enough about me...or me and Tasha. How about you? Settling in nicely?" |
Joe Jon Montcenaggio knpcks on the soor of Mr. Wesley Kutcher. J.J. Starr walks back and forth. J.J. then stops and waits for the undersecretary. He rememberes when Samantha Bradley had this job before she was uncerimoniouly fired for no reason. Not to mention having her job at terrorTours Travel taking over by someone else without her knowledge, then fired again for no reasin. |

"Quiet and just the two of you...yeah that is a change," Gavin replied with a chuckle. Though he couldn't be sure his friend was too sad to be with Allie, remembering certain scenes from the past between them. "If you every need some craziness your always free to come visit," he added pretty sure Frida and Tasha and a few of the rest would enjoy the familiar face. When they were joined by another man seemingly in the look of an official visit, Gavin debated taking his leave as he sat quietly as Mr. Starr spoke. He finally moved to get up from his seat, winching as his leg rubbed the wrong way. "Perhaps I should let you go..." |
Persephone Stuart confidently strolled in and approached the Undersecretary's Desk. She looked around for a receptionist, but eventually assumed Mr. Kutcher would be able to assist her. She waited for her partner to appear by her side, hoping Harley would take the initiative and ask. After her misstep earlier, she figured it would be better to let someone else do the talking. |
Harley hurried over to the Senior Undersecretary's desk and looked over at Persephone quickly in a kind gesture, trying to reassure her (and herself) about the mission. She looked towards Mr. Kutcher, and she glanced over his desk interestedly, noting the array of photographs and potted plants. She cleared her throat after a moment, hoping to catch his attention; it would only take a moment of his time to get permission to see the minister, or even to find their target. |
EEP! So sorry to keep you waiting *hugs* Quote:

"Hello! Can I help you?" he asked the two employees who had just walked in. |
No worries! :D *hug* Harley turned towards Mr. Kutcher as he spoke and returned to his desk. She gave him a light smile. "Sir," she said confidently, brushing a wayward lock of her hair out of her eyes. "We are from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement." She flashed her identification badge. "My collegue and I would like a quick word with the Minister if that would be possible. It is of a rather delicate yet important matter." She hoped if they could get some information on Martel D'Isigny from the Minister, this would help her and Persephone get closer to understand D'Isigny faster and easier, and trail him better. She needed to come up with a story as to why they were asking about D'Isigny. So far, nothing seemed plausable. |
Quote:
"Miss Carlton!" he called. It still felt weird calling her that! But, he had to be professional, especially in front of other employees. "We have some visitors and it seems the door is locked," he added. He smiled at the employees as he waited. |
Harley arched an eyebrow at Mr. Kutcher. "Mr. D'Isigny just left?" she repeated. "You wouldn't happen to know where he went, would you? This matter involves him as well but we don't need to call him back or summon him to the Minister's office. We would like a word with him as well." She turned to Persephone and lowered her voice so only she could hear her words. "Do you think we should split up, leaving one of us here and the other one looking for D'Isigny or just stay the course we're on right now?" She turned back to Mr. Kutcher as he called to the Minister. "Is everything alright, Mr. Kutcher?" She smiled lightly. |
"I do believe I just heard my name," Martel stepped out of his own office and walked down the hall to stop near Wesley Kutcher's desk. He smiled pleasantly at the two women and then turned his attention to Kutcher. "Did you say locked? My. That is odd. May I?" Martel D'Isigny's wand appeared apparently from nowhere, an entirely smooth and natural movement. With a polite and friendly smile for Kutcher, he tapped the door, a shiny ribbon of silver smoke peeling out of his wand, forming into a key and then dissolving on impact with the locking mechanism, which clicked obligingly. Martel reholstered his wand and with a florid bow, gestured at the now unlocked door. The man straightened and turned to face the two women, expression still charming and open. "Was there something I could do for you ladies?" |
Hearing the sound of someone--or a wand, perhaps--fiddling with the locks on her door, Allie rose from her chair and headed toward the door. Had the door been locked? She didn't recall locking it herself, but she supposed it had somehow accidentally happened with all the in and out traffic. A few seconds later, she opened the door, attempting a smile for those on the other side, despite how very terrible she felt. "Hello there," she greeted. "What can I do for you today?" Despite all her efforts to remain upbeat, her voice came out in a slow drawl, and she blinked a few times as if she was trying to keep herself awake after nights of unrest. |
Harley turned as she heard someone speak and enter the room. Speak of the devil, she thought at Martel D'Isigny entered the room. "Mr. D'Isigny, I presume?" she said, smiling slightly. She watched him quietly, obseving his manner as he used a little charm to unlock the door. "What a delightful charm." She cleared her throat a little and looked up as the Minister appeared, hoping the nervousness she was beginning to feel was not showing or able to be heard. "Hello, Ma'am. Miss. Um...hrm." She pulled out her badge as D'Isigny turned ot her again. "Sir." She held up her badge. "My name is Harley Quinn Wulfe, I'm with the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and this is my collegue, Persephone Stuart. We have a minor worry over your safety," she turned to D'Isigny, "Mr. D'Isigny, and since this is a matter is over the safety of the Minister's advisor, we wished to have a word with you and the Minister to discuss percautions, tactics, and anything you think might be helpful." Harley gave the room a quick look over and then turned back to the Minister, hoping this would work. "Do you think it's safe to speak here?" She glanced at Persephone quickly to see if she had anything to add. |
Persephone stood straight as soon as the Minister entered the room. She'd never seen her in person, and was somewhat flummoxed to have this encounter. Allie Carlton distracted her from focusing on Martel D'Isigny. She took a deep breath and regained her professionalism. "Perhaps it might be better to speak privately. Would either of you mind if we conducted this in one of your offices?" she asked. She put on a friendly smile; she was, after all, there to serve the Ministry. |
Martel turned a concerned look towards the Minister. "Allie dear, are you quite alright? Not working too hard I hope?" With obvious and genuine concern, the man reached out and touched her shoulder, with an almost paternal air. "Perhaps you ought to head home early. Wesley here can owl you if there is anything pressing to attend to." Pat pat. He turned his attention to the two Law Enforcement women. And tuned quite the devilish smile on Harley. "All charms are delightful, my dear." His safety? Was not a concern. At all. He looked to Persephone. "I do feel the need to stretch my legs. Perhaps you ladies would care to join me for a stroll? You can tell me more of this... safety concern as we walk, and I in turn, may just inform you what we have in store for the safety and security of the ministry and its employees." He smiled enigmatically, charmingly. The slightest hint of a French accent just caressing his tone. |

Her? Leave?! That would be the day! Allie had never skipped out on work a day in her life, and she wasn't about to start now! She had loads of paperwork to do, and missing even a few hours would put her tremendously behind. "I--I don't think so," she mumbled, and then promptly turned and released a series of coughs. ...and just as she did so, her head started pounding, and she honestly felt sicker than she ever had before. "Well, maybe if Wes will promise he'll let me know if anything comes up...," she hesitantly said. Of course something would come up. This was the Ministry of Magic. She did feel ill, though... |
Harley nodded lightly as Mr. D'Isigny spoke and she turned towards the Minister as she spoke. "Ma'am," she said bravely. "Are you alright?" She heard her cough and she reached into her pocket, fumbling for a moment before grabbing a cough drop from her robes. She held it out to her kindly. "It will help." She turned back to Mr. D'Isigny and she nodded slightly, glancing over at Persephone. "I do not see why we cannot walk and talk." She looked back at Mr. D'Isigny and smiled. |

"Sir," she said, lowering her voice, "We have reason to believe your life may be in danger, and we've been assigned to ensure your wellbeing," she explained, wanting to be upfront about their presence. The rest could be explained as they walked. Perhaps the threat would make Mr. D'Isigny think twice about rejecting their aid. |

Wes had been quietly watching the scene unfold in front of him, noting just how ill Allie seemed to have become. He himself had been feeling a bit under the weather--as soon as he thought that, he coughed loudly into his forearm--and he hoped he hadn't given her anything! "Of course Allie, I can man the level, I promise," he told her with a grin. He WAS a former Department Head, after all. As she left, he looked at his desk and started to organize the papers he had scattered all over it. He coughed again and then sneezed a moment later--great, he probably DID give her his cold! Now that he remembered, he needed to take his temperature later. Just in case. |
Martel looked concerned as he watched the Minister leave but then turned a smile on the two lovely ladies from law enforcement. "Walk and talk, I agree. And then perhaps, break for lunch? I'm rather famished." He fixed his gaze on Persephone and smiled again, all charm and mystery. "My life is in no danger my dear." His voice was full of conviction. "But I simply can not imagine the company of two such lovely ladies as yourselves becoming a chore." Quote:
"Oh dear." Martel stepped back as if he were being cautious of germs and the like. "Do take care of yourself, Mr Kutcher. One's health should never be taken for granted." He smiled pleasantly and turned his attention back to his... escorts. "Lunch is on me." He suggested and then led the way. |
Harley looked at Mr. D'Isigny and then glanced over at Persephone and then back at D'Isigny. "Very well, then," she said. "We will have to talk about your safety, and even if you don't precieve your life in danger, we would rather be certain than wrong. Thank you for such a kind offer, Mr. D'Isigny." She followed Mr. D'Isigny into the door and she entered the hall. |
