Office of Olly Emmons-Clarke https://i.postimg.cc/xdqMJ3Gs/office.gif The location of the Department Head's office has stayed the same, however, the interior has changed considerably. Not being one for excessive decorating, Olly chose a rather minimalistic approach with regard to furnishing the office, only setting up a couple of shelves, a simple office desk and a few chairs. The latter are neither particularly comfortable nor uncomfortable which should consequently make you feel welcome but not encourage you to stay too long if you're a visitor. OOC: Come play with me, whether it's a scheduled meeting or just your character wanting to ask or discuss something. As always, if you have any questions or want to discuss something OOC, just PM me (Lislchen). |
With one last mental inventory about the contents of her report, Beatrice hugged the bulky compilation of documents to her chest as she let out a breath. The former Ravenclaw was a little anxious because she hasn't done a personal courtesy call in a while. But she had met their new Department Head at the cocktail party and she was nice enough. She knocked and gracefully stepped inside the office, a smile on her face. "Good morning, Miss Olly." And, just as she spied the crib from the corner of her eye, she gasped in delighted surprise. |
Quote:
Maybe she could convince Schuyler to come back to work so she could give her feedback. ANYWAY, now Beatrice was here. "Good morning." Olly looked up the file she'd been reading and set it aside. What was she...? Oh. Following the woman's line of sight, Olly smiled a little. "It's empty right now." And yes, she missed Evie A LOT. Schuyler too of course. Maybe she could go home for lunch today? Hmm. |
Quote:
Beatrice readily felt at ease at the notion. Doting mothers unite! "I didn't know you had a baby, Olly." Her too! She had a baby too. Merlin, she was starting to miss Tamlin terribly now. She hoped he was being well-behaved with the Mordaunts. "Oh, and here's my report." She added, walking towards the other woman's table and setting the documents she had with her carefully. They could talk about babies as they discussed business, no? |
Quote:
"I do." She leaned back in her seat a little, nodding towards one of the chairs across from her in what she hoped would indicate an invitation for Beatrice to sit down. "We do. She was born in January." Her eyes dropped to the documents the other woman had brought with her. Right, the report. |
Quote:
Turning her attention back to her Department Head, Beatrice bit her lip. We. This was one thing that the former eaglette knew though. She knew that Olly was married to another Ministry employee. "I don't think I've met your...wife." It was wife, right? Beatrice absolutely had nothing to say about that. What's important was that they were two people who loved each other. And onto more baby talk. Internal!squeal!"You said January? So your baby is still only a few months old?" They were the cutest during those times. |
Quote:
As for Evie. "Yeah, she is." Olly turned one of the picture frames on her desk around for Beatrice to be able to look at a photo of Evie taken quite recently. |
Quote:
It had taken a lot of internal courage not to squeal outright when she glimpsed the baby on the picture. Oh, the precious precious child. She could only breathe out deeply, her smile broadening to an almost ear-splitting one. "Wow, Olly...She's perfect." There were simply no other words. The sight made her heart warm. "Can I offer you a picture of my son as well?" Please say yes. |
Quote:
Now Olly wondered if she should make it an official thing, though. Was that something people did? Introduce their spouse to their employees? But then again most people working for her now already knew Schuyler. So maybe just Beatrice? But she didn’t want anyone to think she was showing favoritism. Hm. She was going to discuss this with Schuyler at some point. She was better at these things than she was. Honestly, Olly was starting to enjoy seeing people’s reactions to her daughter. Or at least to photos of her daughter. She wasn’t a huge fan of people wanting to hold her and cuddle her and kiss her face and all that. But the obvious glee on Beatrice’s face amused her to no end. Not that she let that show, however. She simply smiled at the other woman. “Yeah, she is.” No point denying it. Evie WAS perfect. Wait, Beatrice’s son? “ ‘course.” Maybe she should add something more. “I’d love to see a photo of your son.” There, that sounded better. |
Different TL ^_^ Kat had just finished up her last few papers before she had to head over to Olly's office. As she scanned through them, she noted that there were a few magical plant sanctuaries she would have to pay visits to weeks from now, just in case. Nothing new, definitely. She was only doing her job as an environmental ranger. It was only that some habitat managers were just the human representations of a headache. There were betters days, but she could handle them. It has been her job for the past four years. Once she was just outside Olly's office door, Kat quietly cleared her throat and pushed the uncooperative strands of hair off her face before knocking and allowing herself into the office. "Good day, Olly," the blond greeted with a polite smile. "You asked to see me?" |
Quote:
Speaking of, though, here was Katrina. “Kat, hi. Yeah , come in.” She sat up a little straighter in her chair and motioned towards one of the chairs across from her desk. |
Quote:
Oh, and that crib. It brought a tiny smile to Kat's face. "I remember when my kids used to sleep in cribs. Now, they're just very persistent about sleeping on their own beds," the former Slytherin shared. Such a tough stage in parenthood, to be frank. Cassidy was also quite adamant about choosing her own clothes. Anyhow, she wasn't here to talk about the motherly life with her new boss. "Is there any way I can be of assistance to you today, Olly?" Assuming that is why she was called to her office in the first place, at least. Kat didn't mind. |
Quote:
So of course it was no wonder she had a wallet-sized photo album of her son, just a four-paged one but an album nonetheless, its edges appearing a little worn out from ALL the times she had flipped through it just to get through her day while he was away from her. "Here, look, this one's when I first got him," she said, pointing to the first leaf, one where she was carrying a bundle with a mop of dark hair, too small for his face to be fully distinguished. If Olly wondered about her choice of word - got, instead of gave birth to or any variation of it - then she would explain. She didn't keep it a secret from anyone, even to her own son, that he was adopted. But only if Olly asked. Flipping to the next one, because she was animated like that, the brunette shifted on her seat to nudge closer to Olly, this time pointing another picture: one in which Tamlin was on a crawl, one chubby hand outstretched towards the camera, and sporting a huge toothless smile. He was too cute for his own good! "And this one's when he was about seven months, probably about the same age your daughter is now. He had just started to learn how to crawl. Merlin, he was unstoppable. Is your daughter in that stage yet?" |
different TLs of course Quote:
Back to business, though. "Yeah." She gave a short nod as she leaned forward in her seat a little. "I want to promote you to Division Head for Enforcement." There was no point to beat around the bush. That was why she'd asked the woman in here after all. "If you feel like you're up to the task." Olly added after a short pause. She didn't want Katrina to feel like she HAD to accept after all. ------------------------------------------------ Quote:
In the back of her mind Olly did notice the fact that Beatrice referred to it as "got" the baby instead of "had" but she didn't question it. That was none of her business and it didn't make the baby any more or less of the other woman's baby either way. Instead she simply smiled down at the photo and nodded along to her words. "He's beautiful." And he was. He looked happy in the photos, too. That's mostly what made babies and children (and, frankly, people) beautiful in her eyes. As for crawling. "No, not yet. She's only four months now." So not much crawling or independent movement happening just yet. |
Quote:
However, the former Head Girl was here for matters involving work. Perhaps they could talk more about being parents some other time. And it certainly didn't come as a shock, not entirely, when Olly offered her a promotion. "It would be my pleasure," Kat replied with an affirmative nod. It was a promotion after all, and that entailed benefits as well. Besides, Kat did enjoy casting spells here and there when it came to fieldwork within the enforcement division. This was an opportunity she wouldn't allow to slip away. |
Quote:
That had been a very clever question Olly had asked, seeing as now she knew both the children's age AND the number of children Kat had. "Do they get on?" They were so old already, compared to her own daughter. Not that she was comparing or anything. But honestly, it was a bit of a relief to know that she had fellow mothers working with her. Just in case they ever had any issues with Evie. And frankly, she trusted Katrina enough to approach her about it, too. Back to business, though. Olly smiled a little when the other woman accepted her promotion. "Yeah? I'm so glad to hear that." Again, of course it was a promotion so she hadn't truly expected her to decline but it had still been a possibility. The new position did give her more responsibility too which meant more paperwork and at times maybe even longer hours. "I think you'll do a wonderful job and I'm hoping to hire new people for your division soon, too. So maybe you can help me with that when the time comes." It sounded like a practical and logical way to do it in her ears at least. |
Quote:
Mothers looked out for mothers too, of course. Motherhood was serious business, and that was speaking for seven years of experience. As for the promotion, Kat didn't at all feel the need to decline it. It meant a great deal for the blond that her boss trusted her enough to fulfil such responsibilities. Besides, paper work never at all bothered her. Just as long as Cassidy never finds them or spills her tea while she worked on them at home. Arrangements were to be made both here and at home, obviously. "Of course," Kat assured. "You'll know where to find me whenever necessary." Or, if not, her address was in her file there if she wasn't at work, yes? |
Quote:
The other two pictures were flipped and showed quickly to her new boss; one of Tamlin's first birthday (she was holding a number 1-shaped balloon as she carried him on her hip in his sailor costume, complete with the cap), the other one was more recent, him smiling at the camera holding a spoon up with chocolate stuck to his teeth. She sighed deeply as she recounted the memory of that last picture, of him pouting nonstop before she relented for some chocolate ice cream. He was no doubt her kid. Sitting back on her seat, she turned back to Olly. "Well, the months will definitely go by very fast and the next thing you know, she will be walking, running around and asking you to chase her." She gave the woman yet another warm smile and waited. She didn't know if Olly wanted to discuss more about their babies or discuss about her report there and then or if she was going to skim through it first before running it through by her. |
sorry for the short delay <3 Quote:
They would have to discuss this. "Her name's Evie. Evie Sophie." She turned one of the picture frames on her desk around to show her a photo from when the baby was around four months old. While she was usually not a big fan of people showing HER photos of their children, Olly had come to realize that she loved showing off her own daughter. That was probably how most people felt. Perfect. Now all she needed was someone who would be in charge of the Regulation division. Then she finally had her whole team together. "Great." And Olly meant it, too. Katrina was a good and solid choice. "I'll leave the announcement to you, so you can simply tell the others in your division that you're in charge now." She smiled at the other woman, a hint of a smirk playing around her lips even. That seemed to be the easiest way to handle this. There was no point in making a department wide official announcement, right? ------------- Quote:
Still, she much rather liked to talk about her own child. Obviously. "Yeah, she.....will." Olly trailed off, now a little lost in thought, imagining Evie doing all those things Beatrice had just mentioned. Evie walking. Evie running. Them chasing Evie. That was....kind of scary, wasn't it? They grew up so fast. Wow. Soon she'd be talking to them. Eating by herself. Going to school. Leaving for Hogwarts........... |
Quote:
The thought of having one's child grow was definitely something contemplative and she could see it in how Olly seemed to have been engrossed by her thoughts. She completely understood. "Everything okay, Olly?" She asked gently. |
ish okay <3 Quote:
And when Olly turned the picture towards her, the blond couldn't help but smile. Yes, her children had been that small before. How time flies, indeed. "She is lovely," Kat complimented. Little Evie Sophie didn't look like half a year old in the photo yet. Very precious. It still meant a lot to Kat that Olly believed in her capabilities. It was in her Slytherin nature to never want to fail, of course. "As long as I have your blessing, Mrs. Emmons-Clarke," the blond couldn't help but wink. She had a division to sort out, first and foremost. Starting with those greenhouses they needed to make random assessments on. "Would that be all? Is there anything else I can help you with?" |
Quote:
Beatrice brought her back from her little reverie (or nightmare, however you wanted to look at it - probably a bit of both) by asking her if she was okay. "Yeah. Yes. Of course. Yes." Totally fine. Olly cleared her throat and sat up straighter again. "Alright. So, about your report." That...was why she'd asked her to come in after all. Ahem. Yes. "Anything I should know?" -------------- Quote:
Evie WAS lovely. She liked Katrina, she really really did. She was a hard worker AND had an interesting personality as well. Olly appreciated that. "You have my blessing, Mrs. Belrose." She replied with a soft laugh. "No, that'll be all. Introduce yourself to Cole again maybe when you find the time." She wanted to make sure her fellow department head knew all of her division heads after all. Just in case. |
Quote:
"Why, thank you." She was pleased. She had her boss' blessing, and that was all Kat needed. Had she and Olly known each other more during their Hogwarts days—no one shall speak of how many years have passed, though—perhaps they would have been good friends too. "That'll be my first task, then." It felt like starting again from scratch with the promotion, but it was quite refreshing. "Thank you very much, Olly. I'll keep you updated," the blond said as she began to rise from her seat. |
Quote:
When Katrina mentioned wanting to meet Evie, Olly smiled and nodded. "Sure." She'd have to discuss this with Schuyler but it seemed like a good idea to introduce Evie to her employees at some point, right? Maybe THEN she might even be able to bring her with her to her office without her employees hovering around the crib constantly. Which was part of why she hadn't taken her to work yet. "Thank you." It was such a big relief to know she had delegated to Katrina. She truly believed she would do a great job at being division head. "And if you need anything, I'm here." She gave her another smile. Good, one thing off her to-do list.... |
Janis had completed her meeting with her fellow Department of Magical Games and Sports employees and had been allocated the task of discussing plants for the office. She headed for the office of Olly Emmons-Clarke and knocked on the door. |
different TL Quote:
Oh. Could she just pretend not to be in? That would probably be frowned up, yeah? Yeah. "Yes? Come in. It's unlocked." Hopefully this wouldn't take too long. She didn't EXPECT anyone. Maybe it was Cole. |
Quote:
The blonde paused feeling quite nervous. She hadn't really interacted with other department heads before. |
Quote:
'Madam.' Olly's eyebrows went up a little at that address but she didn't comment on it. "Hello. Please have a seat, Ms. Pearl." She gestured to one of the available seats across from her desk. This department was not one she would have expected to work with closely but she was intrigued all the same. "So you...currently don't have any plants on your level but would like some?" Did she understand that correctly? |
Quote:
Janis paused and continued. "Maybe there is someone in your department that might be able to help with such a task." |
Gonna start wrapping up, yes? :3 Quote:
The blond smiled. "I look forward to meeting your mini-me soon," she added. Or Schuyler's mini-me. Whichever best described little Evie Sophie. Cassidy was obviously a mini-me of Clement, given her little girl's firey red hair. Kat almost suggested she let Cassie meet Evie too, but decided against the thought of her daughter's... noise. She would have to do more than just brief her daughter on dealing with babies. "Got it, boss," Kat said with a smile before opening the door and excusing herself so she can head back to her work stations. Perhaps she could even make a quick detour to Cole's office if he was around.... |
Quote:
"Of course, yes." They wanted more plants at their department. As well as other departments. "Have you spoken to any of the other department heads about this?" She seemed quite sure about the idea of expanding this project to the whole Ministry after all. ----------------------- Quote:
ANYWAY. "That's so good to hear, thank you." She smiled at Katrina, realizing she'd been quiet for probably a second too long. "You can bring them by the office some time, too, if you like." For a VISIT, obviously. Not for a whole day of work. But she was trying to be welcoming. "I'll definitely bring her some time soon." Olly said, thinking about how in her eyes Evie looked more like Schuyler's mini-me. Which was totally fine with her. She WAS the prettier out of the two of them. Not that she was biased or anything. Olly stood when Katrina got up and walked to the door - it was only polite, right? "Thank you. I'll see you later." Probably. |

"Thank you so much for bringing this to me, though, Janis." |
Wow, it's so short lol Knowing there was something that Olly needed to talk to Archer about, he arrived early enough to get his work set up for the day before heading over to his Department Head's office. His clothing was tidy, for now, not a speck of fertiliser or plant stain on it. Knock, knock! |
Quote:
Janis nodded. "Oh, sorry. Yes, of course! You are welcome and thank you for letting me discuss this matter with you. Goodbye now." And with that, Janis departed the office. |
Quote:
---------------------------- Quote:
Oh. "Come in!" Hopefully it was Archer because frankly, her brain wasn't QUITE up to the task of discussing any other matters with someone else right now. She hadn't got a lot of sleep last night. None of them had. |
Quote:
|
Quote:
And his greeting made Olly smirk a little too. Maybe she should invite him to her office every morning. It was a nice start into her day. "Good morning, Archer." Yes, she was his boss but it still sounded a bit funny in her head anyway. Especially considering he was like 15 years older than she was. "I did, yes." She took a sip of her tea and picked up her quill - mostly to play around with while she spoke. "Someone from Magical Sports came to me and asked about new plants for their department, seeing as they were all removed after last year's......." How to put this nicely? "After some of the plants flipped out last year." Close enough. "So I know this might be under your pay-grade but we were thinking of equipping the entire Ministry with plants again, to make it more green again." So there was that. "What do you think?" |
Quote:
He listened to what she was saying, something about Magical Sports. He hoped she wasn't about to ask about Quidditch tipping, or having their department start some sort of sport activity, because he wasn't interested. Thankfully, it was about plants. His face lit up at the thought of other departments wanting to have new plants, and more so about equipping the entire ministry with plants. He had two green thumbs, and would be a happy man if there was green everywhere. "I think it's a great idea. Truly. What are you thinking regarding types? We could propagate herbs with calming scents with plants that will improve the air quality. Add a little carnivorous genome to keep any bugs at a low. With beautiful flowers that don't end up looking wilted and dead. Ones that keep blooming during the day and do their dying and decomposing overnight." His eyes were alive at the thought of such a plant. Was she on the same page as him? He hoped she'd get there if she wasn't. |
Quote:
Phew. "Yes, that sounds absolutely perfect." She'd taken a few notes on what he'd said and looked up at him again now. "I was also thinking of going beyond mere decorations in the sense that...they could be useful as well as nice to look at. Like what you said about the air quality but maybe even have some plants they actively have to take care of. Keep alive and maybe even be able to harvest." Like vegetables or herbs. |
*New Timeline* Archer had been busy with researching for this plant they wanted to bring into the Ministry. It was, in his eyes, perfect. He'd been experimenting for the past few weeks, both in the Greenhouses and at home, and now it was all down on paper. He had a folder, neatly organised. Diagrams of what it would look like, the relatively low maintenance things that had to be done for the plants, but also the vast list of benefits and qualities. He had it tucked under his arm when he knocked at Olly's door, excited to talk more about it with her. |
Quote:
That was what she was going to do tonight. "Come in." She called out to whoever was outside her door, standing on the other side of her desk, her back towards the door. She put the remaining pieces of parchment into a neat pile and double checked to see if she'd put everything else she needed into her bag. Her plan was to find Archer, talk to him about the new initiative and then go home for lunch. And maybe work from home the rest of the day too. |
Quote:
"The roots here," he said, pointing to the bottom of the pot where some fluffy-looking greenery was growing, "are calming herbs. I've researched a few ways to make a fresh tea from them, right from the picking, so that if anyone is feeling particularly stressed they can harvest some of the small leaves, steep in hot water for five minutes and have a calming beverage." He'd tried it himself at home, and it had worked. "And my wife helped me with a fertilising powder they mix with water. It gets into the flower roots and lets off a scent that's mostly individual to whoever smells it. The aim is for something calming, but some people might just detect a pleasant aroma." He wasn't sure just yet, having only tested it on his family. The aroma he detected left him feeling alert and energised, yet calm. "I've got some seedlings growing in the Greenhouses, but this one," he pointed to the picture, "is safe in my home greenhouse." He would bring it in to show Olly once it had matured. He hoped it would only be another few days, when the flowers opened. |
Quote:
He had very good timing, indeed. She listened and watched as Archer elaborated on his drawing. It really did look absolutely perfect what they had in mind. "Wow. And they're low maintenance too, yeah?" Olly held out her hand so she could take a closer look at the animated drawing he'd brought with him. "How much longer do you think until it's ready?" So she could check it out herself before they went any further on growing more of them. Although, she did of course trust Archer's judgement. But with the previous incidents, she didn't want to take any chances. |
Quote:
He had assumed this question was coming. Of course it would, it was a work project and these things had due dates. "I think next week they will be ready enough to re-pot and distribute around the Ministry." He also had a small poster he had put together, showing Olly, which had a little bit of information on the plant, the many features of the plant, and simple care instructions. "I can copy these to go out with them if you'd like." |
Quote:
If Olly had been a hugger, she'd have most likely hugged Archer. As it were though she simply smiled at him, gratefully. "You should bring your wife by some time." Or they should name this plant after her. Naturally, they'd have to send it in to have it certified but they could still call it after his wife. It wasn't like it had a different name seeing as it was a new design. Back to the plant itself, though. "I'd like for the Botany division to go to all the departments personally, actually. The posters would be a great help, though. Just in case they're still a bit...hesitant, you know. So we can address any fears they might have before handing the plants over." Olly leaned back a little to make a quick note on a post-it, so she could maybe finish organizing that later today. |
Post Bowling Game Orientation During the orientation, Lucy had been asked to visit her boss's office first thing in the morning and so she had made it her mission to follow those instructions on her first day back. She made her way to Olly's door and knocked firmly. As she waited to be let in, Lucy wondered why she was meeting with Olly. All she knew was that she wasn't in trouble, thankfully. |
The year 2099 starts here :3 Quote:
And she, Olly, was around too. Looking up from her notes when she heard a knock on the door, Olly instinctively assumed it was one of said new employees. "Come in." She called out to whoever was on the other side of her door. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long, whatever it was about. |
Quote:
|
Quote:
It wasn't that Olly had forgotten about having asked her employee to drop by her office, it was more that time had simple got away from her and she hadn't expected Lucy to show up right this second. "Lucille, no, come in. Sit dow." She smiled at the younger woman and nodded to the chair across from her desk. Right, she should do this properly right? So while she waited for Lucille to have a seat, Olly went into one of her drawers and pulled out her employee's file. There. Now. |
Quote:
|
Quote:
Alright. She cleared her throat and forced a quick smile. "You did really good work over this past year, Lucille." Somehow when she'd promoted Katrina, Olly hadn't felt quite this awkward but she was trying to push past it. What is it that you SAID? She hated beating around the bush like this. So...yeah, she just wouldn't. "So I'd like to promote you to Botanist." There you go. |
Quote:
|
Quote:
"Yeah?" Olly smiled back at her before remembering that she was still Lucy's boss and also an adult. "Good, I will send you your new contract to look over but congratulations. I'll update your file right away, then." As in...right now. That seemed appropriate, yeah? So without further ado, she went ahead and added a few notes to Lucille's personnel file. "Thank you." |
Quote:
"Thank you so much. I look forward to signing the new contract. I'm going to be grabbing a tea from the cafe so we'll meet there?" Lucy started to get up from her chair but paused. "My apologies. Is there anything else or am I allowed to leave?" |
Current Timeline Olly had come to work early, hoping to get here before everyone else to get So far so good though. She stepped up to her office door without having run into anyone (thank Merlin) and pulled out her wand to unlock the door. ... Olly was 100% going to blame it on her lack of sleep that she hadn't noticed the fact that her office door was in fact OPEN. Not completely but it was neither closed all the way nor was it locked. Uh. Had she forgotten to lock her door last night? She doubted it. To be honest, she was sure that she had locked it before leaving for the day. After simply standing outside her office for a long moment, Olly eventually nudged her office door open and looked inside. Blame it on years at Hogwarts but she was instinctively a little anxious and sent a quick Homenum Revelio into the room. Without any sort of reaction. Right. That was probably just her paranoia speaking Weird. |
Patrick tried to stay calm as he entered the department. It wasn't too difficult to find but it sure made him nervous to be trying to find this place. Tugging on his shirt he took a deep breath outside of the office of his boss. Merlin he was not thrilled that his owl had taken the wrong letter. He felt like an absolute troll, and it was only made worse by the fact that his boss had yelled at him in writing. Sighing he raised his hand to knock on the door. He could only hope that one Olly Emmons-Clarke would be understanding in what had happened....especially considering he had the actual completed application in his hand. Starting off on the wrong foot like this made him start to believe he would never get to play Quidditch too because he had already gotten on his bosses bad side. |
New year Olly had successfully avoided talking to people (okay, most people) at the ministry orientation event. Being a mother of two most definitely worked in her favor when it came to social gatherings as well. It was the perfect excuse not to be around much. She could arrive late and leave early. Perfect. Which was also partly why she hadn’t yet had the pleasure (?) of talking to her newest hire. Calyx she already knew and appreciated. But this other new employee (?), Patrick, she was not sure about at all. So this first day of work was going to be very interesting - assuming he was going to show up at all. Did he even want this job? After his application she was not sure about that at all. And she’d reserved the right to get rid of him again if he was as disappointing in person as he had been on paper. As it were though Patrick was not on her mind per se as she was sitting at her desk. She had a lot of other things to think about too, naturally. Which was why she didn’t immediately think of him when she heard the knock on her door. ”Come in.” |
Taking a deep breath and making sure his longer hair hadn't fallen into his face. Why didn't his parents prepare him for this kind of stuff? Although, he could suppose that it wasn't often that a person had their owl... and maybe even their mother take the wrong application. Sigh. Upon entering the room he tried to look anything but extremely nervous. He could do this right? "Hello Ma'am" great his nerves had made his southern accent a bit stronger than it had become while in Massachusetts at school. He took a breath and continued, "I'm Patrick Dooley. One of your new, well I hope I'll still be considered, hires in the department." He tried not to wrinkle the papers that were in his hands. Those papers would tell her that he was a good student, passed all his owls and NEWTs with flying colors, had no prior crimes, that all around he was a good kid who just so happened to restart his application. Was he sweating? He sure hoped he wasn't. |
