Hai! I started making glass beads about a month ago and have totally fallen in love with the craft. Something about a blow torch and molten glass appeals to the pyro in me
Three or four days ago I decided to make a black bead with a snitch on both sides.
Unfortunetly it cracked when my sister knocked it on the floor and ran it over with the computer chair :glares: but I managed to get this picture to show you guys! I used opaque black glass, opaque white for the wings and opaque gold for the snitch itself.
Then I spotted the Aquamenti challenge inthis forum I decided to take the first three beads I made on the torch and make a Aquamenti pendent.
I made it using teal and blue transparent glass, melon beads, a jump ring and crafting wire.

Wow, those are really nifty. Once the kids are grown up a bit and I get some free time I'll have to try my hand with a blow torch.

Those are beautiful! I've never thought about actually making the beads before, but I can see you have a real talent for this. Love all the beads!

Thanks everyone! I had alot of fun making these and I'm glad you can enjoy them too!
Earlier today I made (well half made) a Gryffindor inspired bead.
Unfortunetly my torch ran out of gas before I could melt it in to the right shape and do what I wanted to it. The bead beside it in the picture is what I wanted to do to the Gryffindor one, I was going to melt it into the barrel shape, and swirl it around like the ivory one.
And one more thing, I finally started uploading stuff to my deviant page! All my beads are pictured there, not just my HP ones Deviant |

That looks very cool. I've done a lot of different types of crafts, but this is one I've never tried. Reminds me of the fun I had soldering in a jewelry making class I took in college. I may have to seek out a class on this type of thing. Looks like too much fun to not give it a try!

Hopfully I'll be able to finish my house beads soon, I have yet to do hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and maybe one more Gryffindor bead.
Oh and I post a few more beads on my deviant art |
