Marfa's Masterpieces Olympics Tally: Challenge #3: House Pride http://www.snitchseeker.com/second-h...2/#post7632088 Challenge #5: Weasley http://www.snitchseeker.com/second-h...0/#post7247893 Challenge #9: Divination http://www.snitchseeker.com/second-h...1/#post7044703 Challenge #11: Magical Familiars http://www.snitchseeker.com/second-h...5/#post7250657 So I have two projects currently completed, both of which are a little old now. The first is a Gryffindor scarf which I completed about 2 years ago. It is made from 100% hand dyed sheep's wool that I purchased from the Highland Games in Fergus. The scarf measures 76 inches long, and I am quite fond of it. My only regret is that I didn't put tassels on it when I had the chance. Here are a couple pictures of my scarf: SPOILER!!: click for pics I'm sorry the pictures are so big, but I don't know how to shrink them. Jan: No worries! I put in spoiler tags for you. You can make them too, like this without the spaces: [ spoiler = text ] big pics [ /spoiler ] |
Wow, that's a long scarf! It looks very good, I am impressed by your knitting skills. Good job! |
That scarf looks awful comfy! Welcome to the forum : D |
GO GRYFFINDOR! That is a truly awesome scarf. I'd wear that proudly. |
Thanks for all the awesome comments, guys! It took me a really long time to make it (almost two years actually) but I am really proud of it because it turned out so nicely. I christened it by wearing it to the midnight release of Deathly Hallows last year. *squee* :D |
I love Hogwarts scarves... so pretty! I've always wanted a Claw one, but I think I'll just give up and make one. |
*gasp* OH that's gorgeous! I love how it curls in (I'm a noob, but is that a stockinette stitch?), very, very pretty! |
lol Nabiya. I am a knitting n00b too. All I know is that the one side is knitting, and the other side is pearling. I don't know whether there is a specific terminology for that or not. My mum helped me when I had to switch colours so that the scarf would look nice when finished. Anyways, here's project number two, which some of you may remember from Christmas time. My very own Ollivander sock puppet! He's soooo cute! Unfortunately, my dog ate him shortly after this picture was taken, so alas, Ollivander is no more. SPOILER!!: clicky clicky |
aww that totally cute :D bummer about the dog though... |
Hahaha poor Ollivander, taken down by a roving canine! He's so cute though <3 And yes, lol I'm quite sure that's a stockinette... or at least, what I thought it was! xD Switching colours is so stressful, but your mum did it beautifully in the scarf. |
Omgawsh that is sooo cute! And looked like a lot of hard work. I would have been veryyy angry at my Voldemort if he did something like that to my creation XD... not that I have the creativity to create something as cute as that! You should sell them *nods* |
lol. Thanks, but I don't really think there'd be a market for them. It's something to keep in mind though. |
I found my old FIMO modelling clay while I was cleaning some stuff up in my house, and it was surprisingly still pliable. I was just playing around and this is the result. http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...ts/won-won.jpg |
How cute! I love it, nice job! In fact, this looks just like Ron, right down to the red hair and the sweater. |
Ooooh, he's so CUTE! Nice work. I want him to sit on my mantle. |
That is so cute! How big is he? Is that his final pose or can he stand up? hehe |

*He just fell over. I guess Won-Won's head was too heavy for his weasley...I mean measly... body.* |
Divination= illumination What better for enlightenment than a divination lantern? I made this one out of a large tin can. With a hammer, an awl, a little determination, and a lot of noise, I concocted this one. Hope you like it! SPOILER!!: click for pics |
That is such a creative idea! I used to make those out of little cans when I was a Girl Scout many moons ago, but this is really clever, and so pretty all lit up! |
Wow! What a great idea this is, and it looks awesome, all lit up! Great job! |
Wow! That is so cool! Such a creative idea. I wish my ideas were as good as yours. xD Good job! |
I really like it! I think this should be a standard accessory in the divination classroom, without a doubt! Nice job! |
Ooooooooooooooo! *eyes light up* Gorgeousity in carnate! Have you considered opening and Etsy shop? You're stuff looks beautiful. Looove the Divie lamp! Heehee. ^__^ |
Ooooh so pretty! I love tin-punched lanterns. Nice job! |
Here is my entry for Magical Familiars. I made the toad from an origami pattern, which I kinda flubbed, but oh well, then painted and glittered it. Hope you like it! http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/DSCN0542.jpg http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/DSCN0543.jpg |
