Ha ha, that's great! Here's a picture of Lily, seventh year, from my story The Pursuit of Sappyness. It is done in pencil crayons on yucky paper and was a quick sketch...it only took me about an hour, which is short for me, as my portraits usually take about 20 hours (like 'Siriusly Charming'). Text Cut: Lily Evans Character Commentary Lily: Yeahh, that's me. Marlene: Looking away at Potter, no doubt. Lily: Ha ha, very funny. Alice: How pretty you look, as always. Dorcas: You're so photogenic and I hate you for it. |
That's a really good potrait! :o and you did this in one hour? man, that's quick! The colours are used so well... skin tones look great :D I liked the shading of the hair the best *nods* Great work! |
she is soooo pretty!^_^ I love how Lily has red hair and green eyes...the deadly 'I am SO PRETTY and Down-to-earth' combination!:lmao: that was weird and random....sorry.... 1 hour??? go Christian!!! |

News Flash: The tutorial I made is up! It's about shading. If you are interested in looking at it, click here. |
Hey there, your art is awesome. ;) i love your drawings of Sirius and Lucius. :woot: your tutorial about shading is great, but do you have any special tricks for shading in human portraits? especially their faces, it's always a little tough for me. i'll definately check in more often. :shifty: |

Hmmm...maybe I should make a tutorial for that. I don't know if there are many techniques I use for shading a face, though. I just...do it. :P If I gather enough instructive info for shading a face, I do it, though. Thanks for the idea! |
No problem, i can't wait to see more stuff! ;) |
Awesome Christian! I am so gonna try that tutorial!!!:P |

I drew this piece, 'Queen Hatshepsut', at my campsite when I was camping last week. It took me...er..I think 2 hours or so. I used pencil. She really wasn't supposed to by Egyptian, but I decided halfway through sketching that she should be. I'm not particulary pleased with this one, but ohh well. Text Cut: Hatshepsut |
heads01, it would be good if you posted comments rather than advertising your thread. Advertising could be done through your signature. Christian, this drawing looks really cool ^_^ the shading is very realistic. I like how the cheekbones are shaded and stuff. You could have done more work with the hair coming down from the snake crown thingy (I don't know what's it called, lol >_<) but anyways, the drawing is very cool, it looks realsitic. great shading! |
Hey, Christian. i haven't been here in a while. I love the new drawings. I absolutely adore Galadriels eyes back on page one. I love Lily. Her hair is beautiful and her eyes are exactly the righ shade of green. 'Queen Hatshepsut' looks like Cleopatra. Beautiful cheekbones and the shading on the face is great. I do agree you should've worked out the ahir more though. Can't wait to see more. Aya |

Thanks for the feedback! I do agree with you about spending more time on the hair; hence why I wasn't particularly happy with this piece. I don't know what the snake headress is called either. O_o But the Egyptians always wore them, it seems! :P Quote:
 Yeah, she does. I just chose 'Hatshepsut' because she was the first ruler of Egypt to pop into my head. ^^ Thanks for the comments! :D |
Christian! I love her eyes!!! *wants it* She's gorgeous!^_^ and for some reason, I think she'd be a perfect Aztec mistress...:erm: *shrugs* *ish weird* |

 Yeah, she'd fit into many of the ancient civilizations...but I chose to make her Egyptian after I put the eyeliner and snake on her. :D |
Hey everyone! Here's a really quick sketch I did a while ago. It's just the basic sketch and outlines, but it was too annoying so I ditched it. But tell me who you think it is... Text Cut: Guess Who? |
Okay first  :worship: WOW!!! You're sooooooo awesome to do those portraits with pencil crayons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And second....you're amazing....:P You shouldn't have ditched that's sketch! It's amazing! and hopefully I'm right in saying that it's Lilly Potter? :D |
Oh, that picture is lovely! :woot: Haha, i'm gonna take a guess and say it's.......Emma Watson?? |

Ehh, it was too small and evil. <_< Sorry, it's not Lily Potter! It's based on a real person... Quote:
|
Haha, it looks like her! do you have the rest of the picture? we'd love to see it. ;) |

Your sketches look great, lol. |
I think that drawing of Emma was great. I saw right away that it was her. Great job on the eyes. you should have continued. Ido understand your frustration though. I don't like drawing on small paper aswell. I only do it when I don't have a choice, like when I'm not home. Hope to see more soon. Aya |
