Days passed. Hermione and Ron were on edge for a long time. Hermione found her thoughts drifting towards Harry. Where was he? How could he have left her behind? Why-

An owl flew into the window with a bang. Hermione sighed and opened the window. The owl flew in. It was a barn owl, and it had a message tied to it's leg. Hermione grabbed for it eagerly, and gave the owl somewater and food while she read it hastily.

Dear Hermione and Ron,

Things are going ok. Because I'm in danger all the time now (I suppose you guys are too, I guess), I can't tell you where I am, although I can say that it's pretty dry around here. Kingsley Shacklebolt gave me a good summary of what I'm looking for, and I think I'm close. I miss you both alot, and I wish you guys could be here. But pretending to be a Death Eater is no easy task, especially since I don't have a mark.

Hermione reread the letter, and noticed the owl was poking something else at her. It was another piece of parchment. Hermione opened that too.

Hermione,
I miss you terribly. I wish I could have you here beside me, to help me. Sometimes this seems so hard. I wish I had a way to keep you with me all the time. I despise Voldemort for ripping me away from you, especially since we're to be married. But I promise, as soon as I get back, we'll be married. i don't know when that will be, but please Hermione, no matter how hard it gets, don't forget our vow.

Hermione smiled. Harry was so sweet. Ron came in from the bedroom.

"What's that?"

"Letter from Harry. Here." She gave Ron the letter that was addressed to both of them, and hid the other letter. Ron noticed, but didn't let on. He smiled as he read the letter.

"That made my day Hermione, it really did. I wish we could be there with him."

"So do I Ron....so do I...."

Hermione's eyes brimmed with tears, and Ron held her, as his own tears fell thick and fast.

Harry watched from his hiding place. Impersonating a Death Eater was hard work. He followed the line until they came to their meeting place. Voldemort stood in the middle, his arms raised.

"My faithful, tomorrow is the fall equinox! My war is still raging, but we have not yet won! That foolish boy, Harry Potter-"

Hisses from the crowd.

"-and his silly friends are slowly killing me by destroying my Horcruxes! This is something that must be avoided at all costs! I need strong Death Eaters to be my personal bodyguards night and day! You shall be called Death Watches! I need three volenteers!"

Harry stepped foward.

"Let me be your protector, my Lord." Harry spoke, dropping to one knee and deepening his voice. He blocked out all thoughts about Harry Potter, and thought about Death Eaters, and their activites. Voldemort looked at him suspiciously, then smiled.

"Rise my Death Watcher. You shall be my personal advisor as well."

The Death Eaters murmered as Harry took his place beside Voldemort. Voldemort waved his hand.

"Away with all of you. To bed, my beautiful ones. Tomorrow we hunt for the vampires!"

The Death Eaters left the circle slowly, Harry among them Voldemort called after him.

"Where do you think you're going?" Harry's heart stopped. He turned slowly, and faced his Master.

"I'm sorry, my Lord."

"As well you should be. No Death Watcher turns his back on me. You shall be the first to know. Crucio!"

Harry screamed in pain. The fire was all over, it was always there, would never stop. There was nothing except pain. Then it was over. He slumped to the ground, chest heaving. Voldemort swished his cloak and stepped over Harry.

"Be at my tent at first light. We have much work to do."

"Yes.....Master...." Harry panted.

Good work. Nice idea about the whole pretending to be a death eater thing...good Idea...(personally I'm not much of a H/Hr fan...I'm a R/Hr fan myself...but I can go more than one-ship-ways sometimes.)

I can't do that....I have to be a D/Hr shipper until the day I die! But writing up other shops expands my imagination, and it is kinda fun!

Speaking of D/Hr ships there's a fantastic D/Hr ship fic online...Its brilliant, but I forgot the title! But I think it was on Sugar Quill!

Tension between Hermione and Ron lessened as the days went by. Letters from Harry grew rarer and rarer until Harry was almost a distant memory. Hermione wrote him daily, but received few replies. But one day, Ron got a letter.

"Hermione, did the owl get here yet?" Ron yelled from across the room. Hermione was in the kitchen, cooking dinner. Or trying to. She was trying to improve her cullinary skills, for when Harry returned.

"No Ron. And why don''t you look for yourself?"

"Becase, " Ron grinned, "I'm a guy. That's what women are for."

"Ronald Weasly!" Hermione stormed into the living room. "Just because I am a member of the female race, does not give you the right to tell me what to do! I-"

"Hush! The owl's here!" Ron waved his hand at Hermione. He ran to the window to let the owl in. It strutted in importantly, and dropped it's package. It ruffled it's feathers and flew away.

"What was that?" Hermione called. She was back in the kitchen.

"Nothing to concern yourself about Hermione."

"I still think I should know..." Hermione's footsteps echoed in the hallway.

"Get back wench! Go bake me a pie!" Ron shouted, and magically looked the living room door.

"RONALD WEASLY!" Hermione tried to unlock the door. "Let me in!"

"Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin! Where's my pie?"

"Up your-"

Ron placed a Silencing charm on the door. He sighed and turned his attention back to the package. He opened it with anticipation. He read the top letter with a sigh of relief.

Dear Robert Wiles,

I would be more than happy to have you suscribe toDear Abby. The interesting letter about your desire for your best friend's fiancee shows that help to vercome this is needed. We shall send you a copy of Dear Abby every week. Please notify us when you want to cancel your subscription.

Ron grinned. This was the perfect opportunity to get rid of his feelings for Hermione. Just-

"RONALD! OPEN THIS DOOR!" Ron sighed. Very few people could rip through a Silencing charm, and he had to be friends with that person.

"Fine Hermione." Ron waved his wand, and the door flew open. Hermione stood in the doorway, furious.

"WHAT was in that package?" Hermione asked heavily, holding a wooden spoon.

"I'll tell you.....as soon as you bring me my pie." Like lightening, a large wooden spoon came flying at Ron's head.

That was short, I know....and I didn't get to write about Harry...*pokes herself* But I'm supposed tobe on vacation so I don't have alot of time. I'm due back in New York around Saturday....so definite post on Sunday...all other posts in between are up in the air.

Hehe...ok, so on Friday we're heading back up to NY, so by Sunday I should have another posties in.....I think because I got so many people who love my fic...i should post a little bit of next chapter....yesh, sounds good!

Harry sealed the letter and caught his owl. He missed Hedwig alot. Tying the letter to it's leg, he walked to the window. He released the owl.

I love you... he sent this silent message with it. There was a noise behind him. Harry whirled around to face...Lord Voldemort.

"And where was that owl going, may I ask?"

That's enough for now! Next on Sunday!

Harry spent most of his time guarding his mind from Lord Voldemort. His position was tricky and deadly. If he let so much as one thought about Hermione or Ron, or any of the Order, Voldemort would kill him and them. So far, he was Lord Voldemort's most trusted man, as he was protecting his life. Harry had collected so much information that if the Oder knew, they could stop Voldemort right now. But Harry was stuck, and there was only so much he could take.

One morning, Lord Voldemort took Harry and another Death Eater into his confidence. They met in Voldemort's tent. Voldemort clapped the other Death Eater on the back.

"This is my second and final Death Watcher." Voldemort introduced the large man. "He shall relieve you for half the day and half the night. Unless I feel threatened, then both of you shall be on duty. You have one hour to yourself, I suggest you make the most of it." Voldemort said to Harry.

Harry bowed.

"Very good My Lord." He backed out of the tent as so he wouldn't get cursed, then headed to the Owlry. He couldn't use Hedwig, she had stayed with Hermione and Ron. He used a barn owl, and wrote hastily.

My dearest Hermione,

I am now allowed some precious moments where I can think of nothing but you. Voldemort has a new man to watch over him, and I am writing this in the time he has allowed me. I miss you more than anything in the world, and my only wish is to be out of this hell hole and into your arms. Take good care of Ron and Hedwig, and don't forget that I love you with all my heart and with all my soul.

"My mother."

Voldemort laughed.

"So Death Watchers do[ have hearts. Well, since this is unprecedented, I shall let it go. But," Voldemort drew closer, his red eyes glowing, "should I ever catch you doing this again, I shall kill you personally. Is that clear?"

Harry nodded, before realizing that was a mistake.

"Wrong answer. Crucio!"

Once again, Harry's body was on fire, and he writhed on the ground in pain. Harry's shrieks could be heard throughout their hideout, and no one stopped to help. Some even came and watched. Voldemort released his wand. Harry gasped for air.

"Now....is...that.....clear?"

"Y-yes....my....Lord...." Harry gasped out. Voldemort smiled.

"Very good. Now get out."

Whew! I feel bad for Harry right now!
