"Yeah, Internaional Cooperation was...something. The people were really intense, and honestly? I don't think that many of them knew how to relax. We had a really nice division head in Trading, but then he got transferred and well...everyone got even more uptight. And with this whole International Confrence thing, it just got to be a bit insane. I'm glad I was transferred." Donia listened to Jordan talk about her time at the Ministry so far. When she mentioned where she had worked before, Donia felt her eyes widen, "Whoa, really? The department of Mysteries? That's...wow. And no, I haven't met Ian yet. What's he like?" ooc- i posted in ian's office, but no ones replies yet...so technically speaking, i havent met him yet. jtlyk Theo: He isn't actually in his office right now, so she won't meet him for a while. Ian is the head of Division. So you should meet him soon. Ian: You actually posted in Theo's office. |

"Erm, hello," he called from his office. "May I help you?" As he said this, he emerged from his somewhat cleaner room and brushed off his suit with his hands. "I'm Ian Ashby, the head of this division." He would have offered a hand to shake, but she clearly had far too much to juggle in her arms to attempt a handshake. |

Donia smiled at the quirky man who introduced himself as her division head, "Hi, I'm Donia Cailleac. The new transfer from International Cooperation. I just wanted to introduce myself." She felt her box teeter precariously in her hand and quickly set it down in the cubicle next to Jordan's. Before she could drop it. Goodness knows she dropped enough stuff already. She glanced at Ian and then grinned at Jordan, thinking a little about the coincidence that she had just been asking about Ian a moment before. Lucky thought. |
Jordan smiled back then took at seat at her desk. She wanted Donia and Ian to have a chance to talk without her interrupting. "What to do, what to do" Jordan mumbled as she fiddled with some papers on her desk. She had been planning a few things to present to Ian, but they weren't ready yet. |

He was looking around and looked eager to go talk to Theo. It was like there were ants in his pants....or something. Quote:
As he finished, he was already dashing out the door. ------------------------------------------ Ian came hustling back into the office and cleared his throat. "Umm, attention, everyone. I have an announcement to make." With a sad look on his face, he said, "I will be leaving you all here at the Ministry. I have been offered another job and I have decided to take it because it has always been my dream. However, I am positive you will all be left in extremely capable hands." |
It was unlike Shylo to lapse into a state of exhaustion, but despite her working area being littered with coffee cups, her head slipped from her hand and landed on her desk with a THUD. She woke up abruptly, and let ot a tiny shriek, which was muffled with the hand which she pressed to her mouth. How could she possibly have fallen asleep in such an important time? She stared down at her letter in dismay, and let out a sigh of relief as she realised that she must have finished it before she'd slipped into a doze. PHEW. Folding the letter into halves, she slipped it inside an envelope and sealed it, before scrawling an address on the front and attaching it to her owl's leg. She didn't even have time to pick up her quill again, before Ian returned, a forlorn expression masking his usually bubbly features. Leaping from her chair, Shylo grabbed the cup of his favourite tea that she'd made, and thrust it into his hands. He looked positively miserable! "Ian are you---" She was cut off, a shocked look clouding her pretty face. "But...Ian! Oh Mr Ashby, Ian, sir!" She cried, mouth falling open in disbelief. "Well, may I wish you the best of luck, sir!" |
Jordan walked into the Quidditch Headquarters. She had just spoken with Jessica and she told her to talk to the division heads because they knew more than he did. She looked around looking for the division head and saw a man that looked like he was in charge. She walked over to his desk. "Hello, excuse me. Are you the division head here?" She asked and smiled politely. She wanted to make sure that she had the right person before she continued. |
Benjamin quickly got up from his desk and smoothed the wrinkles out of his suit and tie. "Yes, I am the division head here. May I help you?" |
Jordan was glad that she had found the right man, that would have been extremely embarrasing if she hadn't. "Hello, I'm Jordan Paige, one of the sports journalists for the Prophet" She said with a smile as she introduced herself. "I just talked to Theodore, just before he left. I'm here to find out what excactly is going on in the sports world right now and I figured that I'd start with quidditch. He directed me to you" She told him explaining why she was there. |

"That's all fine and dandy, but what exactly would you like to know?" He crossed his arms while simultaneously raising a single eyebrow in her direction. "I must tell you, though, that I am new here, so I may not be able to tell you much." |
Jordan could tell that this man didn't trust her. That was reasonable, seeing as how some of the Prophet writers were just looking for a good story no matter the cost. She, however, was not planning on changing the information. Afterall, she was only a sports writer, that was a pretty honest article. Jordan looked at the man. "Well, like where do the British and Irish teams rank so far, or have either of them gained any new players, or lost any old ones?" She asked him. "Do you think that they will have a good shot at the world cup?" THat was pretty much all that she needed to know at the moment. |

"Look, miss....I don't believe I caught your name. I'm just the pencil-pushing division head, here. I don't really follow how the teams are doing. I just schedule the matches, hire the referees, and talk to the other Quidditch divisions. I'm not much of a spectator for the sport. I find it incredibly barbaric." Too bad he actually loved the sport and refused to admit it. Couldn't she just...check the paper for something like that? A simple score card and rankings would tell her everything she needed to know. Wait....she was the paper. "I apologize, but I honestly think you would be better off talking to the team managers or captains. As for the players on the teams, rosters are perpetually in flux. Trades happen here and there and new players are always drafted to replace those who retire. I have records of the changes for the British and Irish teams, but I can't recite them to you off the top of my head. However, you are welcome to view them under my supervision upon scheduled appointment. "Is there anything else I can help you with?" he asked. |
Jordan looked at the man as he said that he hadn't caught her name, "Oh I'm sorry, Jordan Paige" She told him. She had been almost posotive that she had told him that but oh well. She knew that this man was very irritated, and frankly so was she that he couldn't give her the answers that she needed. By title, he should know better than alot of people. But of course she wasn't going to show that that was how she felt. "Well, I'm sorry for bothering you, I know you all are busy" SHe told him appologetically. "Thank you for you help, and I will get out of your hair now" She told him as she proceeded to walk away. |
Quote:
"Thank you. I apologize for not having the information you needed. I'm new here, so I'm still learning the ways about everything." As she left, he bade her goodbye and said, "I hope you find the information you're looking for." Now then, it was time to go introduce himself to the new Department Head.... |
Zanna walked into HQ. She looked at the empty room. Hmm. Everyone must be at lunch. She looked around again. As she did she moved to her cubicle, she sat down so as to start her work. |

Zanna nodded at Lizzie, That's what I was thinking. She turned in her chair and continued to work. |
Zoe walked in to the Headquarters. She was late. Again. She rushed over to her cubicle and sat down straight away to get to work. She had about half a dozen boxes of files to look over. She was surprised to see that someone had already got her her coffee. It was going to be a tough day but she could get through it with the help of her friends. |
Mei Lin stepped silently into what was to be her new place of work, it was a whole lot different to the Brain Room, it seemed more friendly in a way. Walking through she checked in on a few cubicles smiling at what she saw. However she knew these people would soon get a shock when she started to take over and maybe change things around. It was then Mei Lin remembered the boxes floating behind her, they carried some of her more personal items, things that would be safe now that she had her own office/cubicle thingie in this huge room. That was the best part she decided. Walking into the room she clucked slightly in distaste, there was dust, obviously they didn't clean too often. Casting a quick spell she sighed happily when she could breath without fear of being suffocated by boxes. Gently laying the boxes on the ground beside the door Mei Lin strode over to the window and opened the blinds letting in the cheery rays of sunlight. It would probably be dark outside in a few hours as there were storm clouds looming in the distance but for now it was a cheery day. |
Zoe looked over as someone walked past. It was someone who she did not recognise at first but then she remembered that one of her colleagues had told her that a newbie was coming today. She walked over to the old, dusty cubicle and tapped the woman on the shoulder. Hey, Are you the new worker here? |
Mei Lin turned when she felt somebody tap her on the shoulder and looked down at a woman just a bit shorter, but older than she was. "I suppose you could say I'm new here. I transferred from the Department of Mysteries since I was offered a promotion to Division Head." she said smiling slightly at the other woman. "I'm Mei Lin Takenouchi, your new boss and you are?" she asked politely while holding out a hand for the woman to take. |
Rachel Rodriguez was very nervous. It was her first day at work and she was late, she didn't know what to do. She didn't want to give a bad impression to the Head of the Department on the very first day. She walked into her new place of work . It was a big room with lots of people, and that made her even more nervous. The atmosphere in the room was pretty friendly and cheerful. She looked around at all the people, wondering where to sit and work. Then she saw two women talking to each other. She walked up to them and said, `Excuse me, my name is Rachel Rodriguez. I am a new employee in the Ministry. Can you help me, please? I'm looking for my cubicle.' |

"Mei Lin Takenouchi. I'm your division head." she said giving the woman a polite smile. "If your looking for a cubicle there should be some further down, just place your stuff in an empty one with no personal effects of any kind." |
Rex entered the division office and blanched. The decor of the entire division was seriously outdated and it smelled musty. Not even the posters of various players helped make it look inviting. More like revolting. Shrugging off his initial reaction, he immediately walked towards Mei's office. He knocked once and entered, obilvious of the fact that she was speaking to an employee. "I want to see the mock-ups of the season schedules for each team in the league - posters, mailers, advertisements. Send a few of the lab rats to my office with them before lunch. Also, if Colin MacKenzie pokes his head in here, direct him to my office immediately." He looked around. "Interesting, erm, office. Space. Thing. Remind me that we need to have the entire division redecorated after the election. Toodles." With a simple wave, Rex left Mei's office and returned to his own. |
