The Nightingale Ward

The Nightingale Ward used to act as a children's haven back when the Asylum was running at it's peak. There were over 200 children in this part of the building, all with varying degrees of illness. Muggles believe this area to be heavily haunted by those same kids...but by wizard standards, it is not. Or perhaps...no ghost has made themselves known yet. Either way, considering repairs and intense clean up efforts, this area has been deemed safe.

Unlike the Chaucer Ward, the Nightingale Ward has been set aside for children wanting to nap and be read naptime stories. The walls that were a terrible puke color are now a rich cream, and the windows have been redone, now covered with cream-colored linen curtains and colorful stained glass windows. The floors from the other Ward, the dark polished wood, continues in this area. There are no games or toys here...just mats, pillows, and blankets; all bought brand new.

Is anyone else up for naptime?....Oh, and that kid-like singing voice that is constantly heard, don't mind that. Surely it's faulty wiring...from an old radio. *ahem*

Wondering around London, looking for various other departments. Honestly, Alexandria wasn't sure what she was thinking. But it wasn't as if it was completely out of her job description. Last she checked she was still a climate controller, for the Ministry, which meant ensuring that all departments were comfortable as far as climate went. First place to check on the list just happened to be decrepit old asylum. Okay, well if she was being honest here, she was actually curious and wanted to visit this location anyway. Just cause - AN ASYLUM! Like how cool was that!?!

Tiptoeing throughout the building, Alex tilted her head at the first ward she came to. Comfortable temperature, sure, but why a CREAM colour for the walls?! It looked like a hospital! For goodness sake. It was a mental hospital, but still.

And was that .... singing? Perhaps she should just go find the padded cell now.

Tucking her hair behind her ear Athena walked into the ward room looking down at a piece of paper with her brows furrowed clearly confused by what she was reading. She only stopped for a moment when she noticed a figure in the room, that was someone real, yes? "Hello." she said warmly to the woman as she approached her, though she didnt have a child with her which made Athena very Curious.

"Can I help you?" she asked the woman finally as the faint sound of a child singing inaudible words can be heard off in the distance, which she would choke up to being the wind if asked, no creepy children spirits here, nope.

But instead of leaving, Alex just found herself mesmerized by the singing child voices. And a hello? Was this real life? Spinning around quickly, she blinked as she spotted another woman standing there. Or was she really there? Was she crazy? Maybe she was a patient. She shouldn't talk to the patients, should she?

No wait; why would a patient be asking if she needed help? She wasn't the crazy one. Or maybe she was. Was this woman even really here?

"Are those ... that singing ... are they real?" Which totally didn't answer the woman's question.

"Athena Smith Daycare Supervisor." she said to the woman as she tilted her head. "singing?" what, no singing. "Oh! the noise, it's it's nothing, nothing to be bothered about anyway." she said with a grin, dont poke around lady, you'll make it worse. "Are you alright?" she asked curiously. the woman seems confused, lost even and Athena was starting to wonder if she was even really there, was she seeing things?

she blinked and rubbed at the corner of her right eye softly, the voices becoming quiter in the distant. "hmm?" did she say something else?

Daycare supervisor? Which meant ... the singing WAS real, or daycare had alternative meaning for Ms Smith?

"The Goddess of Wisdom and Courage." Alex noted by way of her name etymology. "Hadley. Alexandria Hadley. Lead Climate Controller." Well, technically the only main climate controller. "Sorry. I'm just. I've never been in an asylum before?" She squinted and took a step toward the other woman for a closer look at her.

"I just... I was checking on the climate in our substitute ministry?" It seemed, judging from the distant singing however, there were other things to worry about besides climate.

She knew what her name referred too, kudos to her, then again who didn't really. She grinned at the woman again at the mention of her name, Hadley, interesting name."Climate control?" she was pretty sure it was fine in the bilding, at least it felt fine. "climate seems fine so far as ive noticed." she informed the "Climate Controller" though she was sure if it got crazy she could just use cooling and heating charms in the room, yes?

"Asylum...? No this is the specialty Area, it's no longer an. "Asylum" everything is renovated.. kinda, and up to par, nothing to worry about about." nothing yet anyway.
