Greenhouses

[Zellanna]

Welcome to the greenhouses! Six of them are lined up in a row with a neatly placed natural garden laid out in front. The year-old garden is well established and in full bloom. The center of the garden is a bush of deep blue roses, surrounded by some sort of silvery plant.

To the left of the greenhouses is a small Victorian-style building. There are two doors on the front. One leads to the professor's office, and the other leads to storage for the less dangerous gardening materials.

Feel free to help out in the greenhouses. The professor may even give recognition to particularly helpful students.

Carolyn ran into the Greenhouse, grinning. Her best subject was Herbology, she looked around. She started to examine some of the plants, curious.

Erikson walked around examining his plants, which had rather been neglected lately. Not that anyone could truly tell, but he still felt rather bad about it. He was certain, however, that the plants would forgive him, all things considered.

Carolyn straightened up. "Oh, are you the Herbology professor? I'm Carolyn Medaris and I love plants. Is there anything I can do around here to help? The plants aren't looking too good."

He couldn't feel any more guilty. He was certain of that. He sighed and gestured about. "Well, if you can tell, then I trust you know what to do. Feel free to help where you see fit." He frowned and tended to the series of glass-like rose bushes in the back of one of the greenhouses.

Carolyn nodded and turned to a venomus tentacula in front of her. She started to tend to it, since it was looking a bit limp and didn't snap at her went she got close.

Jasmine peeked around the door to the greenhouse and saw Professor Erikson tending some plants in the back. Smiling, she quietly closed the door and tip-toed up behind where he stood. She had grown an inch taller over the summer and had also lost a bit of weight, mostly from stress, so she was very light and hence very quiet on her feet. Covering her mouth with one hand to stop from giggling out loud, she tapped him on his left shoulder and jumped over to his right side so when he turned there would be no one there. Jasmine tried very hard not to bust out in giggles as he looked a bit confused and turned back to his plants. She then proceeded to tap him on his right shoulder and jump to his left side where he wouldn't see her as he turned around again. Jasmine's hazel's eyes twinkled with mischief as she waited to see if he would ever catch on.

Being tapped on the shoulder a second time he sighed and turned fully, rather exhausted and slightly irritated. He smiled, however, seeing that Jasmine had come in for a visit. "Well... now you've really grown!" He tugged her over for a gentle hug before stepping back to look her over.

Jasmine, finally let out her giggles as the professor gave her a hug. Hugging him back fondly,when they stepped back, she nodded quickly and lifted her chin to appear even taller."I grew a whole inch!" Self-consciously she pulled on her robes so she wouldn't appear too thin. Smiling again, she said happily, "I'm so happy to be back at Hogwart's. I missed everyone so much. Especially my favorite Herbology professor! How are you Professor Erikson? And how is Mrs.er.. Professor Blaylock..um Erikson?" Jasmine stumbled over the last words not quite sure how to address her Divination Professor now that she had married her Herbology Professor.

"Considering we both work here, it might be best to keep calling her Professor Blaylock." He chuckled. "Besides that, aren't I your only Herbology teacher? You're a second year, after all."

[Magical_Mione]

Jasmine giggled and said sweetly,"I suppose, but that doesn't make you any less my favorite." Then her eyes got wide and her face serious as she said in a hushed tone,"Professor, is it true you and Professor Blaylock erm...pollinated and you will soon have a little sprout?!"

[Zellanna]

He blinked and cleared his throat. "Yes, actually... Natasha's had the baby already. We've had a boy."

[Magical_Mione]

Jasmine's eyes got even wider and she let out a high pitched squeak at the news. Then with a big smile she bear hugged the professor again and said excitedly,"A boy!! How exciting! I bet he looks just like you!" She started to giggle as a picture of a little Professor Erikson wandering around the greenhouses combing his hair. Pulling back again, she said sincerely,"I am so happy for you professor,I know you will be the best father ever." A brief look of sadness flashed in Jasmine's eyes a moment but she quickly covered and went on to say,"Professor Blaylock will make a great mom too I'm sure. Your son is very blessed. What did you name him?" Realizing after she asked that she was prying, Jasmine bit her lip and said quickly,"Oh I'm being nosy, I'm sorry."

Carolyn finished tending to the venomous tenacula, which was now a rich green and thriving. Satisfied with it, she looked around. "Professor, what do you want me to do now?"

[Meritet]

After some exasperating wrong turns and a run-in with a helpful, and giggly, group of Hufflepuffs, Meritet finally found the greenhouses. She spotted the teacher already engaged in conversation with a student, and another tending a large plant. Meritet stood at the doorway, staring at the one similar plant behind the one the student was tending. "That's a venomous tenacula," she said to herself, impressed by the size of it. "Woah."

She approached the student, one she had seen at the Slytherin's House Table during the Opening Feast. She had meant to say hello, but had gotten so caught-up with Frances and her sad story, that time to socialize with anyone else had simply run out. She approached the Slytherin just as she had finished the venomous tenacula she was tending.

"You seem to have some experience with these," Meritet commented. "She's looking lovely now." Meritet looked at the plant more closely, admiring the girl's work.

"Hi, I'm Meritet," she said offering her hand to the girl. "First year, same house. You?"

He was interruped momentarily by Carolyn, who'd finished her small task. He nodded to her and looked around. "Well, the glass roses in greenhouse 4 need to be pruned. There's special clippers for them in the storage for them, if you're up to it. Just wait until they're blooming. You'll love those."

You can attend as young as 5. My ancestors on my father's side established it in 1764, it was supposed to prepare students for places like Hogwarts. I was a Herbology major, so I know more about plants then anything and Venomous Tentacula were my specialty." She smiled and shook the girl's hand. "Carolyn Medaris--from the Medaris line. Pleasure to meet you."

Carolyn's eyes got wide. "Really? Oh that's so awesome! I'll head over there now." She nodded at the girl. "I'll see you another time." She went to storage and rumaged around for them. After she found them she entered Greenhouse 4 and began to prune them, they were blooming and she enjoyed handling them.

"Damian! How wonderful! That's a "spirit" name." Jasmine smiled as she observed the professor a moment,tilted her head slightly and said softly, "He shall live up to his name and tame your troubled soul I think." Realizing she was sounding a bit weird, Jasmine blushed and quickly gave the professor another hug,"Well I just wanted to stop by and say how good it is to see you again and to thank you again for helping me so much last term. I promise not to be such a bother this term!." Sniffling slightly, she perhaps hugged him a little longer than neccessary as she thought that since he had his own family now to worry about he shouldn't have to worry about her too. Giving him a final squeeze she mumbled something that was lost in his robes before turning quickly with a wave and dashing from the greenhouse.

"Likewise," Meritet said. "I'm from America; but, I never heard of the Medaris Institute. Sounds like I would have liked it there. I was home schooled by a neighbor 'til I was old enough to come here. Mom would have preferred that I study back home, but Ms. Vera - that's my neighbor - who studied here in Hogwarts, insisted that this was a far better place for me, since she had learned most of her best tricks here. It was she who gave my name to the headmaster." The thought of those days under Ms. Vera's tutelage made Meritet smile. She had grown fond of the eccentric, exacting Witch, and was surprised to find herself missing her, if not her strict ways of teaching.

"Ms. Vera had one of these," Meritet continued indicating the venamous tentacula; "but she would never let me go near it. I dealt with mostly mandrakes and foxgloves, though I could never get those to stay on the dog properly." Maritet chuckled. "I see a few other plants here that I recognize. This class should be fun, and probably one of my best, though I'm very fond of potions. Ms. Vera said I'd make a great potions master - mistress - whatever, some day. What are you hoping to specialize in?"

[Slytherin Fox]

Excelsior walked around the greenhouse looking at all the different plants. They were all interesting, some of them were quite beautiful and unusual. He wanted to learn more about these plants and how to take care of them. He couldn't wait for herbology class to start so that he might gain a greater familiarity with these plants.

Mystie finding her way to the greenhouse looked around at all the beautiful plans and noticed they need to be watered. ' Excuse me professor, It looks like you plants need watering. May I water them? And if so do I just use my wand or is there special food for them? And would I water the garden out front also?'

[Zellanna]

Erikson waved to the students who walked in, then looked to Mystie. "My heavens, no child. All of the plants are set up on a drip system in here. Now, if you wish to water the plants outside, please use the watering can. It's delicate work, after all. Now, the poor plants just need a little calibration of the system, that's all. It's the weather change and all that."

'Oh, duh, if I payed more attention I would have noticed that,' filling kind of stupid. 'But any ways I will go water the plants of outside. She picked up the water can and went around and carefully watered all the plants in the garden. 'I am all done watering the plants any the garden. Is there anything else you need done? Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Mystie Blackbourne. This is my first year at Hogwarts. My first passion is potions, my second is herbology. You can not have potion if you do not have plants' she said with a little giggle.

beth ran into the green house and started her work with a plant that was making her sweat that all her hard work was paying off she pulled back her hair and started on a second one. after the second plant was done she went back to the common room to cool down.

Lyn walked into the greenhouse, she loved the place. It was so serene, any worries she had before would banish once she started tending to the plants. She passed a few students and headed to her favourite corner. She stroked the leaves of the plant, it was growing well.
