Alexander Greingoth EraAll historical records pertaining to Ministry of Magic RPG under Minister for Magic, Alexander Greingoth [IC January 2076 - December 2081; OOC January 2012 - June 2013]
Things had not gone how he expect during the interrogation of De Talone. Kennedy had expected a bit more excitement or at least a crying De Talone begging for her freedom. He got neither, but then again, the law worked at it's own pace and it still intrigued this YATI.
Since nothing much was happening around the DMLE office, Kennedy went pocking around different files that were available to him. When he saw something about the Hogsmeade shop it quickly had him on his toes. How strange would it feel visiting the village again, but on business duty?
....
It was strange alright. Especially with the looming thought that his girlfriend lived in this very village.
Kennedy entered the now closed-to-customers shop, his wand gripped in his right hand. His eyebrows rose at the hole in the floor. "What happened here?" he said, referring to the hole. He already knew what happened here during his time at Hogwarts. He had even gotten a glimpse of De Talone then as well.
He walked closer, not too close, to the hole, standing next to Simon. "Has there been any valuable evidence?" he asked. Had they found anything previous to his hiring at the Ministry?

More company arrived and Simon looked over at the two newcomers, noticing one of the two trainees. Bonus points for the initiative the younger man... Kennedy had taken in coming to see what was going on. The woman in turn seemed to be with the other man so he left it alone, answering instead the questions of his own co-worker. "I believe the counter collapsed to expose the hidden basement...at least that's what was in the file." Poor Dorian had just had the misfortune of being the one to make the startling revelation by falling down the hole first.
"There was a letter found and then there's the woman's lab down in the hole. Though this is my first time at the scene so I'm not aware of all of that was found down there. " The YATIs and aurors seemed to have been kept to the woman and not the on-sight investigation which had been handled by the hit wizards and other members of the department. If he remembered correctly, Dacs had mentioned part of the happens at New Years filling him in a bit on that end.
Simon looked down at the hole once more and debated whether or not to take a look down there himself. Though he had to admit there was some hesitation on his part. The last time he had ventured down into a similar space he had spent most of the term possessed by a pirate.

Someone had to focus on work and learn to leave all the drama back and Josh knew that someone was himself. Hopefully the things that had happened seemed more distant to him now and living together with the young woman he loved did him good, more than he expected that it would. Evelyn was usually as busy as he was, and sometimes ever busier, yet knowing she would always be next to him at night made him happy. So thanks to her, he was able to start to fix his life...starting from his career.
As he walked into the shop, he looked around carefully. The first time he had visited this place he was having difficulty with focusing on things and what he had been supposed to be doing there because of his racing thoughts however now he was relaxed and confident and so he looked around with interest. The De Talone case was still not closed and as far as he was concerned every new thing that had found made it even more complicated. A half smile appeared on the young man's face when he saw Simon, friend and fellow YATI. And there was another man.
''Hey!''

Who left the door open on their way in? It definitely wasn't him.
It seemed like moments after Saul moved his way over to the hole in the floor to see who was down in it a flock of other MLE'er piled into the store. One he didn't recognize and would have shooed off as some lost Hogwarts Student if Simon didn't address him directly. "I believe the report also mentioned a book with a red spine that opened an exit down in the lab as well. They also took some tea-cups as evidence, in hopes to find some trace of the potion that De Talone used on the Students."
He looked behind him to the girl who he asked to come along with him. "You, and I can stay up top. Sweep over the shop one more time to see if the previous team missed anything." Giving her a nod he recalled he still had not asked for her name. Now he felt to awkward to bring it up around so many others. The others weren't really his to throw around.
Oh someone else came into the store, Josh he believed this guy's name was. A YATI along with Simon, and probably the new kid as well. "Hey" Hey wait a minute, wasn't the Auror office working on the other half of the De Talone case? "Why are all you YATI's here? I mean the more help the merrier..."Merrier, never thought he'd hear that coming from his mouth "...but aren't you all supposed to be working on interrogating De Talone?"
Maybe, they got her to spill the beans, or in this case the tea on everything she's done. In which case, bravo you guys are brilliant at your jobs. Mental pats on each of your backs.

Giving a quick nod of acknowledgement and a smile to a fellow MLEr, Regina realized she didn't know most of the people from her department yet. No, she should give an effort to get to know them soon. But not now, since they're on a case. Maybe sometime later.
She listened intently to their conversations in hopes of finding out more information regarding their task today, while constantly looking at the newcomers who have just entered. Reg was about to offer going down to see what's there when she heard Saul's commands. Yes, sir!
Sweep...wait, sweep? Ohh. He meant like, go around and double-check stuff. Hopefully, because cleaning was not what she signed up for in this job. "Yes, Saul." Sigh. She felt more at ease doing paperwork because she knew exactly what to do, but since this was all new, Regina should really give it a try and do her best. Without another word, she smiled at everyone and nodded, to signal her leave in order to begin scouting around for some sort of evidence...anything.

Thank MERLIN Emily was there to balance out the crazy amount of testosterone happening... well, pretty much happening all over the office. Genevieve perused along the perimeter of the shop, not sure exactly what she was looking for, but she was just happy not to be hanging around staring in the hole like it was the secret to life. Merlin knew how many people had been in that hole already, and the answers probably weren't in there.
The woman had 300 years to collect books. Why wouldn't the answers be here on the shelves somewhere? She glanced up as a man questioned why all the YATI babies were hanging out in the bookshop, and Genevieve gave him a cheeky grin. "You don't think they'd trust us to do interrogations, do you? We're only just able to tie our own shoes and use the cup without a lid. Can I touch things, d'you think? Have you inventoried the books?"
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Wow...was he just given sass? Saul wasn't sure what to do with it. On one hand it set him on edge, and he was pretty much dangling over it to begin with from earlier. On the other it gave him a sense of superiority. Usually it was the higher-ups who got talked back to. He did so when he was younger. "I trust they'd teach you how at least."Along with some manners. Saul said as he moved away from the hole in the floor. Not concerned with who was down there now. "I didn't say I was turning away your help now either, so if you think checking every last book in a bookstore is going to get use somewhere, be my guest." and have fun spending days cataloging them. "Check for hidden spells before you touch anything." No one has yet run into any issues with some curse put on a book or tea-cup, but it's better to be safe.
Saul removed his wand and thought to check for any more items, that may have slipped by them as well. "Revelio" Saul spoke with a quick wave of his wand.

Dacs strode into the shop and stopped looking around at everyone who was there already."I really hope everyone did their homework. I have no time to catch anyone up. We collected a considerable amount of evidence and took care to preserve the seen."
She moved into the shop and looked over at the gaping hole in the floor."Further exploration needs to be done down there. I'm sure we can collect more samples." Moving her field bag on her shoulder Dacs looked at Josh with a slight smirk and remarked,"You might want to be careful, this was De Talone's play ground, she left a lot of fun surprises the last time I was here."
Dacs rested her bag on the nearest table and took out a pair of gloves before moving toward the hole.

Blink. What? She couldn't help but not look away from Saul, who looked annoyed at her. Uh oh. "S-sorry! I d-didn't mean to...uh-uhm...give the wrong impression, Sir! Saul!" Explaining while her hands were waving in front of her in defense. He might have seen her sigh and misunderstood.
"I'm on it!" Enthusiastic for handling books? Well, Regina was quite the bookworm. And yes, she will check every last book in this bookstore. She looked at the other woman and decided that since she will be checking every last book, she may as well do an inventory now, seeing that no one else has done so....maybe. "I'll inventory now, Miss...Ma'am..." Err, what to call her? Eeeep! Be a woman, Reg. Stop acting all childish and lost.
Better get on with it now if she was ever gonna be of help around here and do her job properly. Going on to the bookshelves, the little lady took out a pen and a logbook. They could use those right? Since they were no longer students who needed quills and parchments. It's time to do this Muggle style.

Until she heard otherwise from Emily, Genevieve was perfectly happy to peruse the shelves, casting on likely looking books and then turning them over when they proved to be safe. The man got another cheery grin, which was the politest expression she managed on most days. Better than a scowl.
"Yes, sir." She slid around to the front, checking out the books kept near the counter. "It's odd, right? I mean... she's obsessed with herself and staying young. Not a criminal mastermind, really, just a selfish person who happens to be a genius at potions. So why is she here instead of running a shop like Primpernelle's? Why books?" Genevieve loved books, but she wasn't obsessed with continuing to look 19 forever. Although at the moment, she WAS 19, so...

Oh! Was that 'miss' and 'ma'am' directed at HER? Genevieve gave the older woman a warm smile and offered her hand to shake. "Genevieve Branxton, actually. Please don't call me ma'am. I'm a YATI. Just started a bit ago, actually."
Dacs turned sharply at the yappers and said,"What is with the chit chat. Get to work. And don't handle anything without gloves."
She turned back and said,"If you're afraid of anything that goes bump in the night. Don't come down here." as she lowered herself, lean and lithe down unto her haunches. Taking out her wand she muttered,"Lumos."
Taking a quick look around, she could still see where Dorian had fallen. She stood up and looked down at the hole. Raising her voice a bit, she said,"Anybody else coming?"

Kennedy's eyes wandered toward the hole when Simon mentioned the counter collapsing in which it revealed the basement. Kennedy nodded thoughtfully. It was a good thing no students fell through when the shop was open for business.
He was curious as to what was written on the letter Simon mentioned, but a man spoke and that caught Kennedy's attention. His eyes wandered around the shop looking for the book with the red spine.
Turning to see newcomers, Kennedy sent them an acknowledging nod. Things seem to speed up from there. He was on everyone's toes, especially on the woman (Dacs) who seemed to be running the show. After she went down the hole, Kennedy slipped some gloves on and turned to Simon. "What do you think?" His eyebrows lifted toward the hole, signaling if they should go in as well. Besides the boss, Simon was becoming a sort of a leader role to Kennedy. Someone he could go to if he had questions.

His mind having wandered just a little as he looked around it was when Josh joined him that he had noticed his friend's approach. That was another thing that was bothering him. First the fact that apparently despite the fact that Simon had felt over all that had happened his senior year...apparently there was still stuff that bugged him from it. Like dark ominous holes in the floor. And second...that he had allowed himself to be somewhat distracted by it.
"Hey..." he returned.

Simon nodded along as Saul elaborated on what had been found, the man obviously more privy to the actual evidence that had already been collected. But then his division had probably been working it directly not somewht second-hand like the aurors. At the question about their actual placement on the case, he was about to answer when Genevieve responded herself shortly after her own arrival. None to politely though though she did have point with her words. The elder auror added his own two cents afterwards. "Lawyer showed up...put a bit of a damper on it."
Well it was the truth...

Besides the boss, Simon was becoming a sort of a leader role to Kennedy. Someone he could go to if he had questions.
Ah...there was someone he was certain had been here before. Dacs had arrived and Simon noticed that she was in one of her usual moods, thankful at least he hadn't done anything to turn it on him. She did however make up his mind about going down into the hole to investigate further. So with Genevieve attentive to the books helping Saul and the other woman, he looked back at Kennedy who was looking to him for guidance.
"We go down..." he mused, reaching into his pocket for his own pair of gloves. The older YATI slipping them on before taking up his wand. Then with a flick and a "Lumos," Simon lit his wand and moved closer to the edge before heading down. The former captain managing to land with at least some former grace.
Entering into the shop Sydney glanced around at the group who were standing pulling books out of Amaranthe's shelves and the man who was waving his wand around like a fool. They left it in such a poor state, it had been a while since he was here. "Do be careful with those. They are Tomes not just some simple school library books." It was the name of the shop after all. No greetings for them here, instead he gave a dissatisfied sigh at the large hole in the shop. "I hope this hole is the worst you've done to my poor client's shop." He let off a yawn, and turned his attention to the three who were sticking their fingers and poking their wands around the place.

Merlin.
People.
Emily didn't like people. They got all up in her grill and were loud and sometimes not particularly bright. Then again, she was probably like that at one stage too...
Sighing, she figured she ought to make her way back UP to the shop floor and watch her YATI flock. Casting a quick apologetic look at Aubrie, she levitated herself back up, making a fairly graceful reappearance. Emily managed to get off a few nods of acknowledgement and an approving grunt or two. Her YATI flock were pretty alright, and the Genevieve chick had spunk. Emily liked spunk. "Sabel and I conducted a thorough search of them the first time round.. it was interesting enough, but we didn't find anything useful." The girl was free to peruse them at her leisure, perhaps there was something to find that they didn't consider earlier.
And then De Talone's representative turned up... great.
"Can we help you?" .. to stop interfering and get out of the way?
Oh! Was that 'miss' and 'ma'am' directed at HER? Genevieve gave the older woman a warm smile and offered her hand to shake. "Genevieve Branxton, actually. Please don't call me ma'am. I'm a YATI. Just started a bit ago, actually."
"Oops, I'm so sorry...Genevieve," she said with an apologetic smile and gave her a handshake. "Regina...or just Reg...or Gina. Whichever you prefer." Genevieve was the right way to address her, yes? Or should she call her YATI Genevieve? No, that would be awkward. Uhm, Miss Branxton? Too formal.
Aish! Regina, please settle with Genevieve. There's nothing wrong with that. Now go make yourself useful and stop thinking about petty things.

Taking a quick look around, she could still see where Dorian had fallen. She stood up and looked down at the hole. Raising her voice a bit, she said,"Anybody else coming?"

Eep. "I'm sorry." Ohh, gloves. Right, right. Almost forgot that. Oh you, it's the basics, how could she have forgotten. Quickly, she grabbed the pair of gloves from her bag, putting aside her pen and logbook on the floor for a while. Nope, she sure was not coming. Inventory had to be done.
As she put on her gloves on each hand, Regina gave a small smile at a young man in the room (Kennedy) who she assumed was one of the YATIs probably.
Moving on...
Okay, check for hidden spells. Hidden spells, hidden spells. Erm. None for this row of books in the leftmost bookshelf. She took out the first book from the top row carefully. Carefully, because Reg was truly in love with books. She couldn't take, however, that these ones were in poor condition. Dusty, but not torn apart. They've been sitting on these shelves for too long. Needs immediate cleaning with some cloth. But now's really not the time to worry about that either, Reg. Inventory, remember?
While she was at it, Regina watched as some of the MLErs were getting down to business as they lit their wands and emerged down into that disturbing hole on the floor. It made her curious, but she'll have to wait until later to find out what on Merlin's beard is going on down there. Now, focus.
One by one she checked out each book, categorized them, organized into groups, and wrote them down on the logbook. It was a relief, however, that the books were already arranged alphabetically. The process went on of checking for spells, identifying the author, title, publisher, and category, and writing them all down.

So he wasn't her co-worker? The little lady couldn't help but frown at his statements. They were simply awful and inconsiderate. But he could have a reason behind those mean words. It wasn't her business anyway. She continued to inventory the books.

She asked with an enthusiastic smile as she pointed to the bookshelf on her right.

Saul was not going to understand this girl, in fact he was starting to regret asking her to tag along. She seemed constantly hesitant, addressed everyone as her senior, and was way to apologetic. "Would you calm down, and cool off with the apologies." He partially snorted at her. At least she was interested in the books at the shop, she could help the Sassy YATI girl.
The YATI had a good point, "Let's just go with Saul." He said to her quickly, still not liking the whole superior feeling just yet. "I can't tell you why she did what she did. We have no motive yet, I see what you mean though if you think about it. This could just be a hobby shop of sorts, that turned into more a full fledged business." He was making only guess work about all of this. "It'd be like if I decided to start running a Bycycle Shop. My expertise is still Law Enforcement and Animagus Investigations, but my hobby could be giving me better business and more cash flow." That could have been the case for De Talone.

Well it was the truth...
Okay so now De Talone had a Lawyer. He sensed a bit of distaste in Simon's words as he spoke about the person. Obviously this Lawyer meant bad news. "But, why a bunch of YATIs? I haven't seen... aren't you all..."

Emily exchanged a look with Saul. At least THIS dude was sharper than the girl, whoever she was... was she one of his?
Focusing her gaze on lawyerfancypantssuitman, Emily arched an eyebrow, her body comfortably tensed as it usually was when someone was in her space, and the attorney was just that, and unwelcome guest.
Her head however looked up as another one joined them again. She wasn't so sure if he was from MLE as well. In fact, Regina wasn't sure if everyone present in that shop was from MLE, but oh well. That didn't matter as long as everyone had their job to finish.

Good this girl was listening. He still was not pleased with her grimmy fingers touching Amarantha's collection. He looked over to the blonde haired girl who was also touching the books. "If you're both gonna go through her things like you are. I've got a list of books I need to grab." Make them useful for something at least. he creeped over the girls shoulder and bugeyed the book. That was not one of the books.

Leaving the two girls to the books for now. Sydney moved over and confronted the woman, and the man who was still foolishly waving his wand around. "No, I do not need your help." He brought his eyes back to the girls by the bookcases then back to the two in front of him now. The woman before him he recognized, a name just could not be placed. Only looking at her still he addressed the fool. "I'm here for my own investigation as Ms. de Talone's Attorney. I'll be collecting a few things, as well as looking for evidence that will clear her name." He should have come by in the evening when the MLE would not have been in. "Now if you do not mind, I need to start."

Has she just been scolded? Pout. Deep inside, Regina wanted to say sorry and apologize at the man for saying too much apologies, but that would be adding to the list of apologies she's made for that day. So, this confused little girl chose to keep quiet and continue on with her work and decided that she'd only speak when needed. "I haven't." Nope. Coffee was not her thing, and she's never had one. Ever. And she was not planning on having one either.
Erm, so the guy who just entered wasn't one of them? Client? Further closed for investigation?
THIS. WAS. CONFUSING. HER. VERY. MUCH.
..................oh.
The man was not on their side. Whoever he was, he's working for De Talone, most probably. She eyed him, not being as kind as she was before.

Gulp. Regina desperately wanted to say sorry. But Saul already told her off. Maybe it's best to just ignore her. Sigh. People are pretty hostile. It was different from before she took her leave. Maybe Reg should just really stick to doing paperwork back at her desk.
Next book...The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Check!

List of books he needed to grab? She eyed the man suspiciously again, not liking the vibe he was giving the place. Seeing as how Saul had tried to shoo him off, maybe this man was not welcome here at all? Therefore, I conclude, he must leave. Or else trouble will happen.
....besides, was he allowed to even be here?
Again, this little girl chose to keep quiet. Let them do the talking, and Reg will finish her work. She onto the last half-dozen books. Almost done.
Dacs heard more chatter than work and decided to head to the top.
When she got there Emily seemed to have it under control. Then she heard it; De Talone had a lawyer. She stepped up next to Emily and said,"I'm sure you understand that everything is considered evidence until deemed otherwise. As we are still processing the what is called a crime scene. You as her lawyer are not to be here until it is cleared. Now as my colleagues have pointed out, the shop is closed for an investigation, one you are currently obstructing."
Dacs was not in the mood to play kissie face with anyone but remained professional. "If you do not leave the premises I will ask this Senior Auror," she continued as she gestured to Emily,"To bodily remove you save I don't do it myself. You will have to excuse us as we have something called chain of evidence, I'm sure you've heard of it."
She shifted a bit and said,"Now,if there is nothing, please, remove yourself without taking anything from this crime scene."

Perhaps he had moved too soon....too quick to head down when Dacs had made the move to do so as well. He hadn't even heard the other man's question. For as he had made it down to the dusty lower level, Simon noticed Emily head back up. He didn't think much of it at first, proceeding to look around a little. That was until he heard a few more voices coming from above and at least one seemed to show a touch of unhappiness. The elder YATI moved back to the opening only to hear the familiar voice of Dacs speak up, speaking with someone who she identified as de Talone's lawyer and he bit back a groan.
Not here too.
"Nox..." he said extinguishing his light briefly before using his wand to levitate himself back up. There was no way he'd hidden beneath if trouble arose, especially seeing as two of those in the think of things were fresh, green, trainees. Reaching the main floor once more, Simon rejoined the group but stayed quiet, ready if need be to assist both women.
After going down the hole, his wand lit, Kennedy perused through some items, casting on them before touching them. Not that he did much touching. His Slytherin traits were as fresh as ever and his self preservation was highly present. There was nothing that struck his eye. He then got wondering. If he were De Talone and he were to hide something, he wouldn't put it in simple view, even in a secret lab. He'd hide whatever it was somewhere where it was too obvious. Too obvious it'd be shrugged off. Ignored.
Maybe he was thinking too much.
Hearing voices up at the shop, Kennedy strained his ears to listen. The voices didn't sound too pleasant. Following in Simon's footsteps, he levitated himself up, his nose wrinkling at the attorney. What was he doing here?
As he glanced around, he caught a smile (Regina) and returned it with a nod and a small grin as greeting. Though, there more important matters like the attorney guy being here and setting people off.
Kennedy secretly smirked at the way Dacs handled the older wizard. He'd be more than glad to help "escort" him out.

Emily crossed her arms, wand in hand, poised for movement should she need to. Attorney man made her SMIRK with glee. What a flobberworm. As if they'd let him poke his nose around their business and remove evidence. She simply smiled faux-sweetly as Dacs enlightened the man on his rights to interfere with their investigation.
"Wouldn't want us to book you for perverting the course of justice would you?" Because surely that would make it all the more difficult for him to represent an desperately insaneguilty woman.
With a nod of her head she signaled for her YATI to join them in formation. It would be a good learning experience for them. Kicking people out of crime scenes. Unless Attorneyman knew something they didn't?
Amarantha was wrong about the MLE, they were not beasts. They were diseased monsters!
Sydney moved one leg back and slid his wand from his jacket sleeve down to his wrist as the appearence, and terrible breathe of the next woman from the hole came up and started to bark. His eyes wandered to the hole during the lady's speech as two more came up from it. That must be where they spawn. "Tell me then, what would you lot do with evidence that proved Amarantha innocent? Pass it up becaus you're all convinced she is guilty of this crime without sufficient evidence to prove so?" Was no one in the MLE a firm believer of innocent until proven guilty? He didn't care for their answers. Just this one confrontation told him exactly what the response would be. "If you will not allow me my right to do what you all refuse to. Then I shall make my leave, and with haste."
He turned on his heels and pushed his wand in full view now, he will not take a hit from the back by a bunch of corrupt creatures such as these. Sydney stopped at the doorway and rested his hand on the frame. He'll have to return later and collect his things and search for evidence on his own time away from the brutes. For now, learning of the useless evidence they retrieved on his client would be the next best step. "Good day to you all."Diseased Monstrous Brutes.
With a quick twist Sydney apparated out of the shop.
