Blake was getting tired. Sure he didn't do very much yet, but he was craving some tea. Maybe some treats too. He walked out of his office and made his way to the waiting area by the lifts. Ah, coffee cart! Just what he needed. He poured himself some tea and sipped it slowly while waiting for others to walk by. Maybe he'll be able to meet some fellow workers. |
Adam would be working with broomsticks, wouldn't he? At least he didn't have to fly one, that was surely a plus for him. He didn't belong on a broomstick, he couldn't stay on, the whole idea of just a stick of wood supporting all six foot four of him - it just wasn't right. The Flying Sneakers seemed cool though, and he was looking forward to testing them... after a quick break, of course. Craving coffee, Adam stepped out of the lab and glanced each way, spotting a Refreshments Cart at the end of the floor. Making his way towards it, he poured himself a cup, and glanced up to see someone else there. "Hi," he said, feeling a little guilty that he'd proceeded to get his drink before introducing himself. "I'm Adam Stemp," he said, feeling that he should at least tell the other guy his name. |

His head shot up as he saw someone else arrive to get some refreshments. "'Lo Adam. I'm Blake, Blake Evergreen." He sent Adam a half-smile as he brought his cup to his mouth and took another sip of the tea. "Do you work for Department of Games and Sports as well?" He never saw Adam around before, but perhaps that was because he was new to the ministry. |
Quote:
The way Blake had said 'as well' indicated that he worked on this floor, and Adam assumed he must be a different division, owing to the fact that he hadn't seen him around - and of course, he was fairly new, so didn't actually know anyone. "What division are you in?" he proceeded to ask. |
Quote:
Then he lowered his cup when hearing Adam speak again. "British & Irish Quidditch League." He responded with a smug grin. Quidditch was his life. No, wait... Life was Quidditch. "I work for the rules and regulations." He added again with a smile. "So have you been working here for long?" |
A fresh cup of coffee was what was needed, and Rex made a short detour to the Coffee Cart. He grabbed a sturdy cup and let his mind wander for a few seconds as he filled it up. Done. No sugar or cream for this man. He stood there for a moment and inhaled the savory aroma. Now his mind went to work - patents needed to be informed of a possible threat and Gobstones owed him a few reports. Rex took a sip of the hot beverage and began walking towards the Patents Office. |

"Not too long, no," he admitted, running a hand through his hair and drinking some more of his coffee. "I spent just over a year in Magical Transportation after I graduated, and then got transfered here. What about you?" |
Quote:
Oh. So Adam had worked here longer than Blake sure had. "Actually, this is my first job at the ministry. Up until a few months ago I wasn't really working at all. I took a two year break after Quidditch then I guess I decided to work here." You know being around Quidditch and all again. It was nice getting to in a sense relive it all. Blake's new job allows him to make things better for Quidditch players and he was one himself so really it all works out perfectly. |
Quote:
"And how're you liking it?" The ministry, the whole atmosphere here, was great - at least, Adam liked it. "What did you do for those two years?" No, he wasn't being nosey, he was just interested, but if Blake saw it that way then he didn't have to answer. "I started pretty much after I left school. I didn't know what I wanted to do, so I just applied generally here, and that was what I got." Not that he regretted it at all. |
Mmmm tea, Arielle thought. I could use4 some of that on my to my desk. She approached the cart and starred at the variety of drinks. Lemon. She took out a mug from her bag that she purposely brought with her that was given to her by her niece. It had a cat on it and it's eyes followed you and occasionally if you did something funny it laughed at you. |
For Sherri and ANYYYYONE else that wants to play. =D Quote:
Like getting to know the ladies of his Department. And all the other Departments. Patents could wait. "Hello, Lady," Chev greeted a young one at the coffee ...rolling cart? Funny. He moved behind it, making to serve the young woman. "What's your poison?" |
Quote:
She looked back down starring at the other items pretty sure she was still going to chose lemon, but you never know. Yup definitely lemon. "Lemon tea would be nice with a wedge of lemon on the side, no cream or sugar.Please." She starred back up to him. Curious. Not sure on where to begin she blurted out her first thought, "Slow day?" |
Quote:
Definitely a young one. Chev leaned forward on the cart and rested his elbow, then planted his chin in his hand. He gazed at his fellow employee from his side of the cart. And he gazed at her hand, then back up at her. SIGH. He chuckled at her very specific request. This one was marked: 'too high maintenance.' However, Chev did oblige in making the little lady a mug - a very specific mug, as it were - of lemon tea. Sort of. He tapped his wand to the kettle and it did the rest for him. "That remains to be seen. For all I know this is a busy day." Pause pause. "And what is it that you do here, Arielle Morelli?" |

Her mug of tea bumped against his arm, floating without hitch once it was full. Chev could make no promises on how it tasted, but it was at least hot, and by the smell of it - quite lemony. "Gobstones, aye?" Mr. Wilkes stroked his chin, smoothing down a few stray hairs. "Not my style." Boring. "But aren't you just the sweetest little thing for asking." With his forefinger and thumb he plopped a sugar cube into her mug then handed it over. WINK. |

"So they say," Chev chuckled at the naivety only someone as young as her could possess. "I tend to attract to the sort of jobs that don't," he paused to lean purposefully onto the cart again, almost lounging on it, "feel like jobs. Where work and play mingle." Chevron lifted his mug to her, a silent toast and his acknowledgement of his epic tea making skills. "You get me?" |
Noah walked towards the coffee cart desperate for something to keep him awake. It had been an interesting night hanging out with his sister and brother who decided that they wanted to celebrate their 20th birthdays the right way by going to a club. In fact, his ears were still ringing Glancing at the menu and trying to keep his breakfast down, the young man glanced slightly at a couple who were chatting away. They seemed nice enough, but Noah wasn't much of a conversation starter. He concentrated on the menu and tried to decide what looked the least lethal. |

A memo in the shape of a paper airplane zoomed towards the coffee cart and stuck itself onto it. Quote:

Witsy was suddenly distracted by the flyer zooming by. She took a step backwards and made an audible laugh quickly covering her mouth. She stared at it... interesting. |
A golden labrador ran out of the lifts, nose to the ground, sniffing madly. She still couldn't place the damn scent ... She caught a whiff of coffee and raised her head, her tail wagging. Lights loved coffee ... but no. She had a job to do. She put her head back down to the floor and continued to sniff, hoping for that scent. Human scents were so easy to track, although perfumes and cologne could smother them a bit. The labrador decided that this level was clear of her target, and continued up. |
Hmmmm..... Bella couldn't decide what to have definatly something warm, she hadn't eaten much with nerves...... |
Things were a bit quiet in the department and the owls from Hogwarts had slowed down quite a bit. Yes, Rex was concerned that his little brother was in some sort of coma and Gaellen Tate was keeping him notified on the situation as well as if his services were going to be needed at the school. Hopefully not. The last thing he wanted to deal with was a bunch of teenagers who thought they were Merlin's gift to Quidditch. How did Max deal with it for well-over a decade? Just the thought of dealing with teenagers made Rex shudder as he poured himself a cup of coffee. "Not me. No way. He's crazy for taking that job," he said aloud to no one in particular as he added one sugar and some creamer to his cup. |
