Gift Shop and Merchandise

http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0fd65be8.jpg

Are you an employee or just a visiting guest here at the British Ministry of Magic? Do you consider yourself a personal fan of the Ministry? Do you sometimes wish you had memorabilia with the Ministry's logo all over it? Well, look no further!

Making it's comeback on the Atrium level is the Ministry of Magic giftshop! Furnished in dark woods and gold, the shelves are stocked with items that are sure to grab your interest. Pens, pads, and bags, of course, adorn the front shelves, all sporting the Ministry logo...but then there are also hats, bracelets, t-shirts and jumpers (monogrammed for the Ministry, as well).

The back shelves of the shop are comprised of additional merchandise, miscellaneous items stacked neatly in place. Looking for a last minute gift for a friend? Gift cards for your favorite shops? Coupons for unusual items from those favorite shops? An appealing toy to bribe your child with so that they'll behave during your visit? We hope we can meet all your product needs!

OOC: This is an RP thread. No, there is not currently an employee stationed in this area...So, feel free to RP for anyone helping you with your customer service needs. Remember to HAVE FUN!

Really needing to walk away from the mess that was level seven Victoria found herself in the gift shop. She needed to grab a card for Bart to owl his father. It was his birthday so maybe she'd pick up something else as well. Thinking of birthdays she wondered if she should have gotten Charely something. She had gotten something little from the twins, but maybe she should have done something for him from her. The thought heavy on her mind she made her way around the cards.

Hating to pick them out especially for something that she wasn't seeing eye to eye with much as of latley, but there was a big reason they divorced so this shouldn't have surprised her. Hopefully there was some sweets at the counter and possibly coffee since the cart seemed like it was going to need work. The blonde moved her brown eyes along the seeing an animated card. Picking it up she opened it. Nah it was too cute.

Hopefully she could at least find something, but then again why was she even spending this much time thinking about a card for her ex.

Genevieve was on the prowl. Since they still hadn't identified the culprit that had locked them out of the Ministry, and since she was tired of rappelling in through the phone booth... she was willing to do the footwork required to check all the nooks and crannies. Which was why she was here. In the little shop thingy.

Which looked remarkably untouched. How was that possible?

"Are you shopping?" That was interesting. It was like someone looking for the fridge in a home destroyed by a tornado. Complete disregard for destruction and all that. Fascinating. "I don't get who they think needs this place. It isn't like we get a lot of visitors."

Victoria was still looking at the card, still trying to decide what she wanted when she heard a voice. Looking up her brown eyes spotted the person that had spoke. "Oh yes I am actually, but just for a few quick cards I forgot to get earlier." That's all she needed to belated birthday cards. Yes she decided to send one to Charely. She'd just give it to him in the office but Merlin knew he hadn't been seen in awhile.

Her focus moved to the woman once again when she spoke of the place. She glanced around. "I don't know, I kind of like the convenience of it. I mean I wouldn't buy ministry things, but for a card or gift card it's so easy to just pop in before or after work. Though in this case just to get away from the mess that is my department for a few moments." Her department was just not what she wanted to think of. The stickiness that was everywhere just had her grossed out. "What are you in here for if you aren't keen on buying anything?" She was a bit curious.

What was she... doing in here? Genevieve smiled, albeit a bit sarcastically, and gestured around at the mess. Not just in the shop, but out there in the Atrium... and in all the rest of the levels. It was slowly slowly being cleaned up, but it was a mess. "I'm helping look for what caused this. Y'know... so we can open the place up again?"

And the shop would open properly then too? Unless the woman was just going to steal the cards. Genevieve gave her a cautious once over. Maybe she didn't even work here. Maybe she was a spy and part of the crew that had wrecked the Ministry.

"What level do you work on? What's your name?"

Victoria let her eyes shift around. She was very surprised the shop seemed so untouched, but it was a pleasant surprise really after what she was seeing in her own department. Thankful the place even let her in for the cards. She'd have to give props to Anthony on whatever he had done to keep the place so normal. "Well I hope you figure out, it's been such a headache." She was less than thrilled about the entire situation.

She was about to excuse herself to find someone or even just find her friend to pay for the cards when the younger lady spoke again. "Oh Merlin how rude of me. I'm sorry, my head just hasn't been very normal lately." She would have never not introduced and been friendly before. Maybe she should have taken that quick outside break. " "I'm Victoria Maroon, Quidditch Public re.. Oh I mean Quidditch Division Manager." She hadn't been fully use to saying her new title after saying her old one for so many years.

"You should help," Genevieve finally stopped trying for subtlety and came right out with it. "Everyone is pitching in. You could help me look. Turn over racks, unfold and refold all the clothing, dig through the ice cream machine. There's a lot to do, and you can't do any work until we figure it out anyway." And work was way better than shopping.

Everyone knew that.

"I'm Genevieve Branxton. YATI. Have you had your wand weighed today?" Because Victoria Maroon looked like a spy. She was the Quidditch Division Head? Quick! Test question! "Quidditch, hmm? Have you seen the new Chaser recruited by the Magpies?"

Victoria just looked at the girl. Was she kidding? "I should help? I should help?" The thirty five year old wasn't able to have her coffee, she needed to step out for her small break, but hadn't, her wand had been chewed, and now this. "My department is a wreck, we have papers shredded everywhere, the coffee cart on our level has coffee and snacks all over, and the game room is ridiculous. I have been helping. I needed to step away for a moment." So if this girl expected her to fold clothes that were not her children's or her own she was barking up the wrong tree.

"I can't do any work until it's figured out?" This was funny and Vic laughed, "Would you like to tell that to my boss, or to the managers that don't care that I've been in a bloody hanger trying to do work. Schedules need out, mascots need things, trading cards and posters need done. They aren't going to wait just because this place looks like this." She was working her behind off and wasn't going to take attitude from some kid.

"It's nice to meet you Vivi and no I haven't, but I have had it chewed by some Chizpuflers up on level seven." She was still bitter about this fact. Her day wasn't getting any better either. Her brown eyes looked curious towards the girl as she asked about the Magpies. Ugh had she even looked at the new rosters yet. I see all the teams an their players."[/b] Which reminded her she did want to do something special for Wade to congratulate him. "All I can think of for the Magpies is the former captain of my son's house at Hogwarts. Alice I think." How could she forget that name it was all he spoke of for the longest time.
