This position reports directly to the IMC Department Head. The Liaison to the Press's primary job is to ensure the Daily Prophet and other matters of the press, receive only information that they need to know. Responsibilities include ensuring that when articles are published, that the facts are straight and accurate. If an article is published with information that should not be public knowledge, (i.e. a secret meeting with foreign delegates) the article is retracted. This position requires background in journalism.

♛ History

Louise is the oldest of three children, born on a cold, rainy Christmas morning in Seattle. She and her family moved to New York when she was three, in time for her sister to be born. The family then moved again two years later, to Atlanta, due to the high costs of New York. It was in Atlanta that the Hamilton family welcomed their third child and first boy, Theodore. It was only a few years later when the Hamilton family again moved to New Orleans, to which they remain there today.

Perhaps due to Louise heading off to Ilvermorny in Fall 2085, they wanted a permanent residence while their children were away, but whatever the case, while Louise doesn’t really remember Seattle and has a thirst for traveling, she’s grateful to finally have a place to call home.

Louise's time at Ilvermorny was, needless to say, magical. She thoroughly enjoyed her professors and made fabulous friends both in her own house and outside of it. She's a proud Thunderbird and extremely proud of her alma mater, but her thirst for travel really only just began during her time abroad in her seventh year. Having the opportunity to compete and represent her house in the IMPS competition was eye-opening for Louise Hamilton and while she wasn't convinced about university, she knew one thing for certain: She didn't want the adventures to end. In June 2093, when she said goodbye to Hogwarts and all of friends and professors made at the European Sister School, but also Ilvermorny students, Louise returned to New Orleans for the summer as per usual. This time, with her wand, as she was now a full-fledged grown witch.

When the summer ended and she saw her siblings off to school, she made the "rash" decision to backpack across Europe for a month, where she came to terms with a possibility that might allow her to keep having adventures. The Daily Prophet was hiring and as a journalist, this would open her eyes to new places, new faces, all the things an adventurer might want... a position that would suffice for now in her desire to "see the world".

Almost four years later and a best friend found in the form of Arabella Morgenstern, Louise resigned as reporter from the daily pressures of Prophet to freelance for a few months. Feeling refreshed and renewed but not willing to give up the freedom of freelancing, she applied to the Ministry on her twenty-third birthday figuring her father had worked for years for the American Ministry. She received an offer to start in January as a liaison between the Ministry and the Prophet. Time to see where this path takes her . . . .

An adventurer to the core, Louise has a deep desire to see the world, which is why when the opportunity came for Ilvermorny students to travel abroad for the International Magical Pupil Standoff, Louise was quick to gain permission from her parents. Though she was already of-age, having her parents know she was traveling abroad was very important to her, mostly because she would be leaving her two younger siblings behind at school. She is deeply overprotective of her siblings, and while Bridgette would have been fine, she didn’t want Theodore there because she felt he was too young, and she couldn’t have one sibling without the other. She is ambitious and introspective, looks inside herself when faced with decisions, soulfully trusting her instincts. Being the oldest, she's very independent, likes to explore all the options, and desires for self advancement.
