Okay I don't normally like anyone reading my poems, but I thought maybe I'd put one up and see how it goes, then I'd put some more personal ones up.
This is one I wrote for school. (It's not my best)
Winter Night
It was quiet in the house on the winter's eve.
Nothing could be heard,
besides the faint whistle of the wind and the crackle of the fire on the hearth.
Snow was gathering on the window sills, like it was being sprinkled through a sieve.
Then, what came and sat there looking in, was a little bird.
The freezing air bit at my cheeks and nose,
Already fallen snow is blown round and round.
There is a whisper, but it's barely a sound.
The bitter wind blows.
Out the door, forward I would bound.
Brown fingers, long and topped with snow,
Reached out from under the moonlight.
White crystals grasped it and glistened bright,
against the shadow
Against the night.
There was a soft whistle of the wind,
In the distance growing louder,
blowing over the frosty white powder.
Under the moon the snow still shined.
As they fell they caught the light, each a snowy white flower.
Glistening Crystals of frost,
Fell slowly from the sky.
So slow, they fell by.
Soon they would be lost,
With all the rest on the ground, who traveled from up so high. |

I don't really have a title for this one (It's a bit more personal and in relation to life...I guess...) ....but here it is:
Some days I just want to run away from it all.
To be by myself, away from the strangers,
Where I don't have to constantly be braced for a fall.
Away, away, away from the dangers.
If you could know what people think,
Would you want to?
To see into their mind's eye as quick as a blink.
See the pain they feel, to the hurtful talk that they do.
There might be something more,
More than what meets the eye.
The ability to fit in was just a lure,
So the power to be themselves only fell by.
So savor who you can be,
while you still can.
You'll never have to flee,
because it'll be something you'll be better than.
Don't look back to the past
It's no use to try and change an act,
'Cause life is just so fast.
What's done, is done, you can't go back.

Locked Door
You feel desperate,
but you don't know what you're searching for.
You're sure you'll be late,
cause you're staring at a locked door.
Once everything seemed so clear.
Now everything is fogged over.
You no longer know what you hold dear,
Life is just more confusing than ever.
Hand paused before the knob,
The decision still unsure.
Braced for any shock
The rest is beyond an open door. | |

^^Ooh, I'm loving them Shadow.
I'm crazy over any type of poetry so I'll be around to listen.
I agree with you though. Sometimes it's hard to let people read your poems. I've only shown mine to about 5 people tops.
Anyhoo, They're very descriptive and I like mucho!
