This stairwell is unknown to most (or so they say), connecting Level 3 to Level 4. How did YOU come to be in this stairwell? Did you sneak in from the Greenhouses?

Nolan really didn't feel like taking the lift today--it was his first day back, and he wanted to explore a bit and reacquiant himself with his surroundings. Ahhh, the Ministry. It even SMELLED the same as when he left. They'd spruced things up a bit, that was for sure, but the feel of everything was the same. He hadn't realized until just now how much he'd actually MISSED this place!

Yes, he'd missed the Ministry of Magic. He never thought he'd see the day.

He headed up a spiraling staircase, wondering if he'd ever been here before. Had he ever even visited here? He couldn't remember...he thought he had, but his brain could be mixing it up with the staircase that led up to the divination classroom. They were practically the same color and everything.

Ahhh, exploring. What a great way to spend his first lunch break back!

Temperance couldn't say that this was her best day ever. She was so tired from lack of sleep that at first, she'd gone up the lifts, realized she had forgotten something, and then come down on the lifts again. Only to realize she hadn't actually forgotten a thing.

So she had found her self wandering. Barely able to keep her eyes open. She'd pushed through an entry, not paying attention and had found herself on a set of stairs.

There were STAIRS in the Ministry? Really? When had this happened. Needless to say, it woke her up. Now that she was here she may as well see where it was going to lead her. After all, she was extremely early for work, having gotten no sleep.

Hmm. Well, it seemed like the stairs here didn't lead anywhere. Or at least, not anywhere that interested him. Maybe it was time to head back. He turned on his heel, straightened his glasses and started to descend, wondering where he should head to next. Maybe he'd go see if any of his old Spirit Division co-workers were still there. Probably not, it'd been years since he'd been there but it didn't hurt to try, right?

As he walked down, he stopped abruptly when he saw that someone else was on the narrow staircase as well. He gripped the railing to stop himself from falling, since she'd seemingly popped out of nowhere and startled him just a bit.

"Oh! Sorry, didn't see you...almost walked right into you!" he chuckled. Haha. Him. Not seeing. With his glasses. How ironic.

In her newly awakened state Tempy was aware of the fact that someone was right in front of her.

The man looked to be around the same age as her, but she could never be sure. She was bad at that sort of thing.

"Don't worry about it," she said. "I wasn't paying much attention myself," she said almost apologetically. "Do you know where this staircase leads?" She asked him, she was still pondering that thought herself. She hadn't ever been here, at least not when she was fully awake.

Nolan shook his head. "Not a clue...regardless, this staircase doesn't seem like the most convenient way to get...where it's headed," he said. It was awfully musty in here. Probably best to just take the lifts wherever he needed to go. Note to self. Take the lifts.

"Where are you headed off to?" he asked. Maybe she was lost? He was sort of lost (well, sort of, he'd been WANDERING) and that was how he'd ended up here sooo yeah. Maybe he could lead her in the right direction to wherever she was going.

"I was supposed to be going to Level Two, and I'd gotten there too. But I thought I had forgotten something. And somehow ended up here." That was probably more than of an explaination then he needed. Afterall, she didn't really know the guy.

"I'm supposed to be heading back to Level Two," she said simply this time. "Where are you headed?

"Level One. Just starting there today, actually," Nolan explained with a grin. Ehh, maybe he was about to brag just a bit, but he couldn't help it. He was Junior Undersecretary! Or, erm...ASSISTANT. Yes. Cause secretaries were women. "Working with the ever delightful Lord Borr," he added.

That may or may not have been sarcastic. Maybe. If anyone asked it was NOT. Totally sincere.

"Level two, that's...Law Enforcement, right?" he asked. That sounded right.

"Have a good first day then," she said congratulatorily. She didn't really know many people within the ministry. She tended to keep to herself.

"Yes, it is. I quite enjoy it," she said, hoping that he didn't ask her what her job was. She tended not to share that with people she didn't know that well right away.

"Thanks," Nolan replied with a smile. At that moment, he realized that he hadn't introduced himself to her yet. How rude of him! "I'm Nolan, by the way. Nolan Reynolds. Junior Undersecretary," he added. He held out his hand for a shake with a friendly smile. Now if she ever needed to see the Minister, she knew to come find him!

Exploring, Bruno needed to do a bit of exploring around here. Hence what he was doing now, he was EXPLORING. He hadn't gone far though, he wasn't planning on going far. AFter all, he didn't want to end up lost or anything. The man let out a happy sigh, looking around him as he stood on the steps. The Ministry was nice, it was different from home even though...really THIS was his home now.

He beamed a bit and kept walking, not really paying much attention to where he was going.

Dacs decided to take a quick walk as she needed to mull over things in her head. Thinking, about the case file she reading with the attacks on the shopkeepers in Diagon Alley. As she walked with her hands shoved deep in the pockets of her black pants, Dacs saw a man, who seemed to be walking without any aim. She decided she would walk right by him as she wasn't in the best of moods; being mostly upset with Ben.

As she approached him she barely said,"Morning." He was a bit handsome but she was one not to look at that.

....OH HEY.

Vanderpol stopped in his steps, seeing a woman in front of him. It was a pretty woman too, a tiny charming smile danced across the man's face. He waited a few moments before replying back to her."Welllllll, hello to you toooo..."He chimed, wiggling his eyebrows. He most defiantly was going to give her some attention and figure out her name AND EVEN where she worked.

Perhaps Bruno would send flowers to her office? *BEAM*

He pointed to himself,"Lemme introduce myself, I am Bruno Vanderpol..."He watched her, pointing in her direction now."And who are YOU?!"

Dacs stopped and looked at the man with cold eyes. in a venomous tone,"I could be a very bad day for you." She was not one of those girls who swooned over a nice looking guy giving them the slightest attention. " So, that you don't forget who I can be, the name is Dacs." He seemed to be a sure and confident guy. Her career as an auror made her wary of people and was very careful.

THIS ONE WAS FIESTY. Bruno approved.

He leaned against the railing, a sly smirk showing up on his face. His green eyes watched her as she spoke, placing his hands in his pockets. He liked his girls fiesty well...really he liked girls ANYWAY but he wasn't going to just say that. "Bad day?"He questioned, raising an eyebrow."Sweetie, bad days aren't possible for me.."He was too awesome to have truly BAD days. Well, at least not in front of people anyway.

The eyebrow stayed hitched, looking at her."Who you CAN be?"He smirked."Your funny, I like you..."He commented, nodding his head."Dacs, nice name."He mused, it was ALMOST as nice as Bruno...ALMOST.

"Flatter yourself Bruno. So which department are you in darling?"she asked with a smile that was deceitfully charming. She took her hands out of her pockets and stuck them on her hips. She tilted her head to the side to survey him a little better.

"Thanks, didn't realize you could manage to compliment someone other than yourself." she said with a smirk.

Armen wasn't doing anything he shouldn't be so he had no reason not to be in this stairwell, it was HIS Ministry too. The Transportation Head stood leaned against the wall, a folder opened in his hands, reading over MLE personell bios that he had gotten for 're-testing purposes'.

Ever since the Cult had come out in the light, they had always been searching his background trying to find dirt on him, he could do the same thing you know.

Wes had gone....exploring patrolling around HIS Ministry and was pleasantly surprised when he came to a fancy spiral staircase just a few levels away from his own.

He paused as he started to descend the staircase, noticing an odd man lurking in the stairwell. Well well well. What did he have here? And what was that man reading?

As Wes quietly, almost silently, came down the stairs, he couldn't help but notice that the man seemed to be holding a set of suspiciously familiar personnel files....hmm.....

"Excuse me," he said loudly, projecting his voice in the hopes of startling the man as he deliberately bumped into him and caused the files to scatter all down the stairs. "Oops."

He leaned up against the wall and folded his arms, leering at the man with a wolfish grin.

Flicking his fingers through the pile, Recard stopped when he reached the one headed, 'Browne, Emily'. 'Excellent!' he thought to himself with a sneer. He pulled her bio to the top of the stack and began to read.

Blach, blah, blah...perfect grades PFFT, deceased father,...'participating in the Potions for Muggles Club which was directed by Potions Mistress Hecate Lafay'

Emily knew Lafay?! What is this madness? Armen's face contorted into a look of mingled shock and outrage. How dare she give him a hard time for mixing with those that weren't well looked upon by the Ministry's former leader and the living-in-the-past MLE Department. She was friendly with Hecate Lafay for Merlin's Sake! Armen knew that woman and frankly she was one of the few Cult members that gave him the creeps.

Then suddenly a voice boomed from behind and above him and just as Armen turned his head to see who was spying on him, he was slammed into, causing the papers to spill down the stairs before him. "Hey!!! Watch where you are going there moron! Seriously!" It wasn't like the staircase was even busy.

Moron? MORON? Oh no he didn't. Franklin Wesley Logan Ferguson was not a patient man and this guy, this man SPYING on HIS department's files, had just lit Wesley's short fuse.

"Watch who you're calling a moron, idiot," Wes growled, cracking his knuckles as he narrowed his eyes. "Who do you think you are to have access to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement's classified personnel files anyway?"

He bent down and picked up one glossy paper, which just happened to be that of Damien Jackson. Wes glared at the other man and tucked the paper under his arm protectively.

After verbally assulting the man who had so rudely: first, yelled in a quiet place and then second, knocked the files from his hand Armen dropped to the ground picking up the files, quickly jamming them back into the folder. "Idiot?!" How dare he!

This man was seriously confused. He must have thought he was some lackey, entry-level worker or a moron from MLE if he thought he could talk to him like that. "Listen here sir, I just happen to be a Ministry Department Head who does not have to answer to someone," he glared at the guy, obviously not ranked very high in any of the ten Departments because Recard had never seen the guy before. "who is ranked below me. And because I am just considerate of other people's inquireies, I DO have access to these files as do you. I just went to the Personnell office on level one and they handed them right over." Level 2 was dumb but they weren't stupid enough to post all of their REALLY secretive information in their general public files; Armen had tried to get his hands on those things for a while now. But hadn't gotten them yet.

"Now who might YOU be?" he said eying him with a look of distaste. Pfft didn't know who HE was? Armen Recard really, he didn't recognize this face?

Aww look at him, getting all flustered as he dashed around to recover the files that did NOT belong to him. Wesley watched the man, an amused smirk growing on his rugged face, but did not offer to hand over Damien's file. Nope. It wasn't his.

"Listen here, sir, or should I say, Mister High and Mighty Department Head Ranked Oh So Much Higher Than Me." Wes snorted at the sound of that ridiculous title. "Level One needs to beef up their security measures then," he mused aloud, "but don't worry, High and Mighty One, I'll take care of that."

He would, actually. Wes put it at the top of his mental To-Do List. "You can call me Lowly One, or Chief Investigator for the MLE." And that was all.

Hmmm that actually was a decent title. Armen didn't let the look of disgust fall from his face but on the inside he was cheering because that title had obviously either come from somewhere in the man's subconscious because his first impression of Armen was that good or he had picked it up somewhere and that meant people were talking about him. Awesome.

*cough*

"I don't know what you mean, Level one is plenty secure; only the Best for Lord Borr, you know the Minister right?" Que evil grin. Armen was in with Borr and this guy woudn't challenge him on these matters if he knew what was best for him or his job.

"Well Cheif," Siiiigh he could smell the MLE on him since he first saw the guy. "I guess its good Evander kept the position around to give to some moron to stand in for, keeping up the charade that MLE actually still matters around here has been important to Bole recently." he nodded as if he was pittying the guy. A tiny pang of regret for this statement came as he thought of Izzy. Well they would still need law-supervising officials when the Cult took over fully, she would see that they were right then and be willing to stay on right?

"Armen Recard, Department Head of Magical Transportation." he said curly, not extending a hand in greating.

Wesley could not stand the ego on this man. Look at him. He was practically basking in the fake title he had just made up. What the hell, mate? Was the Ministry really in such a bad state that they were hiring mental prison escapees now?!

"Who doesn't know Borr," Wes grunted, mentally calling up an image of the puffed-up old windbag. "I thought he'd have had a heart attack by now...." Shame. One could only wish.

Chief though Wes was, he was not pleased to hear his title come from this guy's sarcastic mouth. "Watch who you're talking to, Recard," he growled again, taking one menacing step closer to the guy. Shorty. "We would matter a lot more if we were able to properly do our jobs and not constantly have to deal with interference."

That's right. "Aha," Wes snickered softly, "you ARE the idiot I thought I had heard of. The idiot who took away my coworker's apparation licenses." Brilliant bit of work there, mate. "Nice job obstructing justice, you blockhead."

A heart attack?! Dear Merlin this guy was nuts! "You had better hold your tongue sir! One speaking ill of the Minister will have no future in this Ministry." A bit of friendly advice really. Borr had practically broke some dude's back once for not listening to him; Recard saw the whole thing. Armen made a mental note to watch after this guy, he could throw a rut in their plans. Borr would hear about him.

Interferance. Armen liked the sound of that, so he really had bothered the MLE and they were just stubbornly acting as if they didn't care. The news that he had gotten under their skin coming from this newbie, made Armen's hopes soar. "Oh it's been my pleasure I assure you." he said with a smile. Ohhh he loved his job. At least news of his good work slowing down MLE had gotten around even to the new hires, it never would have crossed his mind Isobel had been the one to tell him though.
