Summer at Vannacutt Manor Four matched Eagle Owls left Vannacutt Manor during the first week of summer. Each had a beautifully embossed invitation card tied to its feet. An invitation was sent to Francesca Clairmonte, Lua Stone, Jacques Beaumont and Celestina Warbuck. The invitations were for a week long house party at Vannacutt Manor, and the guests were expected to arrive in two weeks. Each person was allowed to bring 2 guests with them (to liven things up). The only rule that Nik had included at the bottom of the cards in his untidy scrawl was “Don’t forget to bring your party moods!” Included in the envelopes of the invitations were 3 intricately carved golden keys. They were tied together with a scarlet ribbon and had a little note attacted, “Portkeys.”

(Two Weeks Later) Nikolai Vannacutt tried to play it cool, but he was nervous and extremely excited at the prospect of having all his old friends at his house for a week. His stepmother, Andi Mao MacDougall-Vannacutt saw right through him and though she was complaining about the fact that their house was going to be overrun by teenagers for a week, she was secretly pleased that Nik would finally have friends over. He kept looking for excuses to pass by the great oak front doors, hoping that somebody would knock already. Even though he knew perfectly well that the Portkeys would only be activated in 15 minutes, he couldn’t help but be impatient. | |

Leaning closer into Leo she patted his chest once for comfort when a girl came to help the cowboy.

"Your brother" she repeated, more to herself and for some awkward reason it all made sense. "Did you hear Leo" she smiled perking her head at him at the mention of family connection "It was pure accident" patting his chest some more in relief.
The sounds Bucky was making made her glance back the siblings, raising a brow at what the cowboy was doing to his sister, "I think she wants you to let go" she exclaimed "that actually hurts".
Her eyes darted towards another boy that was kissing a crying girl's hand, he seemed to resemble Bucky and cowboy, was he their third guest? Shaking her head slightly, Lua shifted back to keep a close eye on the cowboy - he was rather amusing. Definitely a person she'd like to meet, if only Leo cooled down on his parts.

Reluctantly, Curtis let go of the runt. Bucky whined and swayed, holding her head with both hands, a grimace in her usually delicate looking face.
"Aiii," she complained, eyes tightly shut. "I think you gave me a concussion! Popped a vein! I have a hemorrhage and it's all your fault!"
"Nah," said Curtis waving her away, turning her attention to Mister IMMAEATCHOO and Miss You Touched My Chest. "She's used to it. That kid has a head harder than Rosemary's shell!"
"Speaking of Rosemary," mumbled Cameron now caressing Nabiya's hair. "I hope she isn't reading my magazines hidden underneath the bed. It'll ruin her poor tortoise like innocence."

Nik pouted slightly at the fact that Fran had left the warm circle of his arm, but he wasn't going to be vocal about it. She'd be back, they always came back for more, he thought smugly. He eyed the drama between Lua, her new boyfriend (whom he watched suspiciously), and one of the Warbuck boys.
He couldn't help the smirk that came to his lips as he stood up and ambled over to where they were all gathered, "So, except for Julia...I see we are all here. Would you like me to lead you to your rooms?" he cast an eye on the scene outside (gray skies), "Or would you like to go for a stroll outside?"
Nabiya had quite forgotten what she was crying about, what with all the touching Cameron was intent on doing. She blushed furiously and stood up, grabbing at Nik's suggestion to get out of the embarrassing situation with the eldest Warbuck, "I think we should show them their rooms, Nik. Then we could have tea and perhaps if a little indoor swimming if the sun doesn't show up?"

"Oh" Lua sighed eying bucky anxiously wondering if her head was harder than rosemary's shell, they'd have to test that out one day?
Glad that Nik spoke out, somewhat relived that Bucky may be able to survive the night from her brother's tight grasps. Rolling her eyes at them one last time, she perked her head upwards at Leo with a smile, "I'd go with a 'walk', the weather outside is so magical" squeezing his hand which she still held. She hoped Leo would agree, at least it would help reduce his tension, even if it was for a bit.

Leo frowned at the boy when he said rooms. He didn't want to go to their rooms yet, it was too early anyways. Feeling much better than he did, he looked over at Lua and smiled. "Walk sounds nice" he agreed as he squeezed her hand back. "I'd prefer walking then going to see rooms anyways" he shrugged at the random info. | |

Nik scratched his chest as he looked around at them all, "Alright then...let's go for a walk in the wet garden. The house elves will send your bags up to your respective rooms while we're out."
He walked over to the sliding doors and pushed them open, letting in a chill from the garden. "We've got a quidditch pitch way in the back of the grounds, if any of you are interested in a match sometime." he said with a small smile.

Cameron's eyes widened. Why, if he didn't know any better he'd say Nabiya was trying to run away from him. Better luck, next time sweet bottoms. Clearing his throat loudly he placed a large rough hand on top of Bucky's head, squeezing it in the process.
Looking up, Celestina scowled and stared at Nik at the mention of a Quidditch pitch. "I'm playing Chaser!"
Curtis however, couldn't keep his green eyes off Lua and he blushed furiously, stroking what little facial hair he had around his jawline. "I'll play keeper," he announced, puffing out his chest. "I could be beater too!"
And he strutted a bit, shooting meaningful glances at the pretty girl. Cameron clapped Curtis on the back sending him askew towards Lua. He fumbled on her, grabbing at her in different parts before regaining his balance and shoving his hands inside his trouser pockets before the angry dude could try to kill him again.
"I think I'll have sweet Nabiya show me to my room," informed Cameron with a sickeningly charming smile. "Portkeys exhaust me." Not like he had been doing any work... | |

Astoria was desperate for a way to get away from all these people. She felt sick at the moment. It wasn't really a sickness. She felt really nervous around Jacques since she had not seen him in the longest time and he was unfortunately taken by another. "I really want to go to my room. I'll go with the elves."
"How about a race?" Fran stepped up to the front of the group and smirked. Her favorite thing to do back home was race. That and play quidditch of course. She never lost. That's how the bets went anyway. Loser would have to run around naked. "You can set the stakes Nik." Arms folded, she waited on him to either accept or deny.

"Great then" she replied beaming at Leo quite amused that both him and Fran were bonding finely, her eyes darted back towards Nik when he spoke up.
Taking hold of Leo, she pulled him forward slightly motioning for him to start walking though instantly stopped once Nik mentioned Quidditch. That was not expected at all and was not included on the invitation, thus didn't bother bringing sporting clothing. "Sounds marvelous, I haven't rode a broom in a while" grinning in Leo's direction "actually i never played Quidditch with you, Leo" she pointed out walking a bit further until her eyes focused on Curtis, why was he looking at her awkwardly?
Brushing the thought away her hands shifted to adjust her hair thinking there was something wrong there, "I think I'll play chaser or beater" emphasizing on beater while shooting Curtis a menacing look. Before knowing it, he was touching her all over again "OY" she managed while controlling her balance before falling backwards. "I'm fragile" she informed him "handle with care, Please" giggling slightly she leaned closer into Leo to refrain him from launching at the boy.

Jacques perked up from his tart-induced daze as Nik mentioned the fact Julia wasn't here, and that they could walk outside. Jacques didn't want to worry too much, after all he wasn't sure what time she would get home. He did however leave a mental note to owl her tonight if she hadn't arrived.
"A walk outside sounds like a good idea" he said, before smiling at the latest arrivals Lua and Leo.

Nik heard Lua's comment about being fragile and released a derisive snort. She was the least fragile person he knew...next to Fran. He led them out onto the patio, wondering whether he should have warned them all to bring a light jumper. It was unseasonably chilly today and he wished he had checked the climate reports before setting the date for the party.
"A race...or how about a three-a-side Quidditch match? Boys versus girls." he asked, perking up at the chance to show off his new physique. "Losers have to jump in the lake." He grinned wickedly; the lake was freezing, and there was no way the boys would lose. | |

Leo turned his head towards Lua when she spoke, "Well, it's cause I suck at Qudditch." he truthfully told her. "I'd prefer playing a sport on the ground then up there."
After a few seconds, Curtis fell and grabbed Lua all over. His eyes seemed to burst into angry flames. When the boy shoved his hands into his pockets, Leo was about to tackle him to the ground again. But Lua seemed to lean into him to stop him from doing so.

His eyes shot daggers at Curtis before he turned back to Nik. "Count me in" he tried smiling. "I suggest Curtis being a keeper. I've only played beater before" he informed them.
Get on the broom. Smack him.
Leo smirked as Nikolai suggested the three on three. "I like that idea." he said looking at Lua, "Let's raise the stakes a bit Nik-I can call you Nik?" he asked hoping the guy wouldn't mind, "I like Fran's idea about running around naked. How 'bout this. Loser jumps in the lake naked" he said with a mischievous grin printed on his lips. | |

Lua's eyes narrowed as it shifted back and forth between Fran and Nik, she was in no mood for a competition, but it wouldn't hurt would it?
"As long as we are even players on each team, I'm playing" she remarked resting her head backwards on Leo's chest wondering what position she would want to play. Beater would be fun, for sure.
She blinked a few times once Nik mentioned something about jumping into the lake, "its freezing, we'll die. Then again if me and Fran are on the same team i can see you guys enjoying a nice COLD bath" adding her signature smirk.
Her head perked upwards at Leo once he spoke, "I bet you're good" laying both hands on his, since they were wrapped around her waist. "Mhmmm beater" she said menacingly as her eyes darted to land on Curtis making a small smile mask her lips.
"Eh?" she muttered when she heard Leo's stakes, "I don't think so. No. Sorry. I won't" muttering some more, how could Leo suggest that when he knew she had issues with revealing her body? She barely wore swimsuits at school let alone a bikini and now naked in front of her friends and CURTIS? How could he suggest that? He's gone mental making her fingers unconsciously grasp his palm tightly.
