Well, my name is James! I joined Snitch Seeker in 2006.
But I became busy with rl and school and kind of left it for a while. But then I came back in teh summer of 2008!
And I've been here ever since!

Where do you hail from?
I was born in Maryland, USA. But I've lived in Colorado for the past eleven years.

so you're not in too difficult of a timezone then! Lucky you! So when you're not online, what can you be found doing?
Well, I've been dating my magnificent girlfriend for just over a month. So I'm with her a lot. But I also play the violin!
And I'm going to college (Uni) at the end of this August, so I've been studying and taking placement exams and whatnot

Awww coolies. Is she an SSer tooo? And violin! Pretty! How long have you been playing for? And guess what, I think we're all secretly nerds around here *looks around* shhh. don't tell.
Ah, no. Actually, she's not a big HP fan. She's just neutral to the series. And I've been playing for eight years!
And ooh good that makes me feel better!

Neutral! *dies* Thats okay, at least she doesn't mind us getting some Pokah! Eight years is a long time. So aside from SnitchSeeker, are there any other websites you are addicted to?
Well, I'm highly addicted to Facebook. lol. But I used to be an admin on a much much much smaller HP forum. That was my first one. And then a friend on there told me about SS so I came here. But other than that, I sometimes go on MuggleNet cuz I like their podcast, MuggleCast. Is that kind of betraying SS? I hope not. D:

Ooooooh betrayer!!! *shuns* No that’s okay, as long as you come back home to us! I think it doesn’t matter which HP site you’re on, it’s one big community and all the sites offer their own flavour. Speaking of SnitchSeeker (that was a hot segue tharr), we know you joined in ’06, but how did you find us? And what made you stay? And since you left for a while, what brought you back?
Well like I said before, I had a friend on my other HP site tell me about it. He said it was this HUGE SS website that was really cool. His username on SS was Leeness. He's a retired site elf. At first, I didn't like SS. I hated how much moderation there was on here. *feels foolish* I even complained about it in a thread when I joined. Hahaha. So embarassing.
I honestly can't remember why or exactly WHEN I came back. I think I was reading an HP book and I was like "I remember Snitch Seeker" and I got back on and was thinking "omg I still love this site."

Aww Leeeebeee. I love that 'puff. We all do crazy things when we start out. You obviously changed your mind a bit on the moderation thing, or else you wouldn't have stuck around huh? And thats a nice reason to have come back. Unforgettable Snitchseeker! What are your favourite parts of SS?

Ooh well
The first thing I really did fall in love with were the Fan Clubs. The first one I joined was the James Potter Fan Club (he's my favorite character). And I quickly became the treasurer. Then VP, and eventually President.
And that was the birth to my FC positions. Haha

You've also been involved in the SS RPG and you still hang out in the FCs I see. *eyes rainbow of usertitles* So James Potter is your favourite character, why is that?
Well for starters, we shared the same name. That instantly made me have a foundational liking for James. But the more I read the series, the more I appreciated James for his love for his family and his character. Plus, I have messy dark hair (it's not black, but close) and I wear glasses. I guess I identified myself with James and Harry, but I favored James more.
And to be honest, I had a hard time staying active in the SS RPG. It wasn't until this term that I finally got super into it, and was able to stay in its speed and whatnot.
I had tried forever but would just end up behind.

James is definitely an interesting character, James! Is it the plot that has drawn you in this time? Or is it the people you RP with that have kept you going this term? And since we've got to do the obligatory Potter talk, which do you like better, the books or the films? Why?
Well, I just graduated from high school. This is the first summer where I've had no daunting summer assignment for an honors or AP class. I have more time on my hands, and so I started RPing with a couple of my close RP friends (whom I consider rl friends) and then it just started growing.
I love the books more, hands down. I love the fir
st few films, but the latter ones annoy me so much.
I'm very nitpicky when it comes to the movies, but some (especially Half-Blood Prince) just made me go mad.

Are you a stickler for canon? *totally is* How did you get into Harry Potter? Which HP book is your favourite? And which movie?
Ohhhh yes I am. Very much so. When I was in third grade, my teacher had a personal library of books and I was digging through it. I saw Sorcerer's Stone, and I had a memory of when I saw the front cover in the form of posters when I was in kindergarten/first grade. So I read it. And I fell in LOVE. She had the first three, and I went to the regular library to get the Goblet of Fire. But I was hooked after the third chapter, really.
My favorite HP book is probably Deathly Hallows, although Half-Blood Prince is excellent as well. And my favorite movie is probably either Chamber of Secrets or Sorcerer's Stone
Mainly cuz they're the most accurate haha.

Canon sticklers ftw! Time for another segue! What are some of your favourite non-HP books and movies?
My favorite books are: The Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Also The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neal Hurston, A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden.
There are so many more. xD. Uh...A Midsummer Night's Dream by Shakespeare, the Three Theban Plays by Sophocles...those are the ones I can think of at this moment lol
OH! The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne too!

Thats quite a range! Looks like you're into literary fiction. All good stuff to think about and reflect on. What about music and Television while we're talking about favourites?
Ah well yeah I took all honors/AP English classes throughout high school. And I love classical music. Mozart, Beethoven, Strauss, Bach, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky just to name a few composers. I love everything from classic rock to electronica. But I hate rap, country, screamo, and heavy metal.
I love a lot of older TV shows cuz I would watch them with my mom. So Seinfeld, Cheers, Fraiser, Roseanne, Three's Company. But I also LOVE Survivor, Law & Order: SVU, the Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, and my mom and sister got me hooked on Gossip Girl. haha
