 No matter how quickly you move to the black carriages, getting wet is inevitable. After stepping off the platform, the rain seems to pick up a bit and causes the mud puddles that had formed on the rough track to grow larger. Mud being splashed around, however, doesn't stop you from noticing the long line of black carriages that appear to have nothing pulling them -- unless you can see thestrals. The hoods placed on the carriage seem like a waste at this point as you climb inside one of them while water drips down your face and robes, but at least it'll prevent you from being soaked further.
The moment the door of your carriage is shut, it sets off down the bumpy road, through the wrought-iron gates, and up to the school. The journey itself will take about fifteen minutes, so take the time to dry off and chat with your friends. Once the carriage sways to a halt, you had better brace yourself to be pounded with more rain while running up to the doors of the school.
OOC: The Hogwarts carriages can carry up to a total of four people.

Clad in her new school robes that she had only minutes ago changed into Ellie walked off the train into the rain. What struck her as especially cruel was that the rain picked up more and more as she walked towards the waiting carriages. When she made it to one of the carriages her hair was wet and she had mud on the hem of her robes. She however forgot all that at the sight of the black horse that was going to pull the carriage with it’s skeletal body, leathery wings and creepy reptilian face.
Ellie stood and stared at the thestral’s with her mouth gaping open and her eyes wide as saucers for several minutes until she started to shake from the cold. It was her wet hair and robes that brought her back to reality. Blinking she stumbled forwards and climbed up into the carriage and sat down on one of the seats near the window. Hugging her arms around herself she just wanted to get up to the castle.

After exiting the train, the Ravenclaw made a quick dash towards one of the carriages waiting for them to take them uphill to the castle. He felt sorry for the first years having to go by boat in this rain, they were going to get soaked before they even reached the Great Hall. As several carriages drove past by an invisible force which he knew were actually thestrals even if he could not see them, Dorian spotted a girl gazing at the invisible creature for some time before she got in to a carriage. Which meant that that one wasn't full yet so he walked swiftly toward it while trying not to slide in the mud.
Had the weather been nicer, he would have politely asked if he could enter but since that it was not the case right now, he hopped inside of the carriage and sat down. "Lovely weather" he said sarcastically as he got his wand from out of his pocket and performed the hot air charm to dry his clothes. "Much better" He said and looked at the girl in front of him. "You should do the same, you'll probably get sick otherwise"

They we’re creepily intriguing. She was hoping that the horse could start pulling the carriage so she could get up to the castle and inside to the warmth. Ellie was thinking about her twin Ollie and wondering if he had made any new friends on the train when a boy without any warning or question if he could join her, just hopped inside and started talking to her, commenting the terrible weather.
She watched him cast the hot air charm on his clothes in silence. It wasn’t until his eyes met her’s and he advised her to dry her clothes that Ellie found her voice and spoke. "Are you sure we are allowed to do magic in the carriage? We are technically not at school yet. I don’t want to break any rules on my first day at Hogwarts." It was though tempting to do a quick charm to dry herself from head to toe.
"I’m Eleanor, but i prefer to be called Ellie." She introduced herself with a smile at the boy.
