Just like she'd done for years on end now, Lainey went to her dusty classroom and propped the door wide open. She waved her wand to open the shades and started a fire in the fireplace. It seemed just like any other day of History - except one thing. There was not a single shred of odd clothing on her, not a wagon full of turnips, or even a terrified house elf waiting for the lesson. It was odd for things to look so normal, actually. Lainey smiled though, waiting at her door for her students to arrive. | |

Amelia rolled her eyes at the question this Slytherin boy asked. She had to take a few deep breaths before she completely flipped out at him for not ever reading 'Hogwarts, A History'. Clearly he had to be a first year, because anything older and he'd know how Lainey could still be here now.
"Yes, of course she was killed by Thomas, and last I checked Lainey is still here now, complete and whole. She became a ghost when she died, but fortunately for her good friends, was able to take a potion or it might have been a spell - I forget - regardless, it brought her back to life." she paused a moment before adding on, "oh and you really ought to check out 'Hogwarts, A History' so that you won't need to ask such questions in the future."

Returning to her seat Celestina frowned and glanced around her trying to make sure no one had stuck in the memory, particularly Tag. That would be terrible. Although, Bucky wasn't sure how someone could get stuck in a memory anyways.
The questions bouncing around were making her head hurt but the information proved highly interesting. At least it explained why Lainey was so odd.
"I think this is all way too creepy for my liking," she mumbled to Tag and Whende who she thought was right next to her minutes ago. "I have a bad feeling. If I had known we were going to dive into people's memories I would have skipped this lesson."
Not that she didn't want to be informed but some things she rather be ignorant to. Like the sympathetic way Lainey spoke of Voldemortist. | |

Tag leaned in close to Bucky, feeling around on his face. "Did all of me come back out of the pensieve?," he asked. "I think part of my eyebrow is gone!" He prodded his forehead anxiously. He, too, was wondering where Lainey would get a memory like that. It was disturbing. He was quite sure Voldemortist wouldn't give up his memories willingly.
Maybe she bribed him with smooches.
Tag would do just about anything for smooches.
"That was depressing," he sniffed. "How is Tom Dursurk checking out a library book supposed to help us with History of Magic? It seemed like an ordinary memory to me."

Celestina stopped staring at Lainey to turn her head ever so slightly, not even an inch and found Tag's looming face wiggling his eyebrows at her and spouting something about missing facial hair. "Your eyebrows look fine to me," she spoke quickly patting his forehead and brows to assure him that they, indeed, were there.
"I guess it all depends on the book and what he learned," replied Bucky to Tag then added in a whisper, only audible to him. "But it sure was depressing. Talk about a mood killer."
Not that there had been a happy mood to kill in the first place. | |
