| | |  The Student Garden
As you pass by the Greenhouses you come across an area with high stone walls, and through the arch you will find the Student Garden.
Over the summer holidays Professor Bentley has been working hard to reinvigorate the Student Garden. Come and take a stroll down the winding path. As you go around the loop you will notice a variety of new plants, both magical and mundane, but be careful! You never know what to expect.
This Garden is designated for student use, so feel free to come down and practice your gardening skills. Remember to use your protective gear! If you forgot to bring them with you, then there are spares you may borrow from the garden shed along with any gardening equipment you may need.
There are a number of areas of loose soil where students may wish to plant their own favourite plants. Just be sure you return and tend to them regularly, and be sure you don't let the iris's die otherwise Professor Bentley will not be impressed- they are her favourite after all.

"Right, now you've gotten grubby again, so you need a wash!" The First Year said to her metal egg. A big barn owl sat a little way away, watching intently. This was all very amusing to him. He was expecting yet another type of creature to come out of the thing his girl carried everywhere with her these days. As if the puffball thing from her Potions class wasn't bad enough, now there was this for Charms. Avis hooted to grab MJ's attention. He felt neglected lately. The Ravenclaw smiled at him. "Sorry Avis, Charms finals y'know!" Turning back to the egg, she pointed her wand at it and cast "Argentum Humidus!". The egg seemed to almost wriggle away from her. She was surprised at the force with which it tried to pull away from her. Now that the egg was damp, MJ rubbed it thoroughly with an old cloth she had brought with her. The entire time, the egg wriggled in a seeming protest. "It'll take a lot longer if you keep making such a FUSS!" MJ snapped, growing frustrated with it now. The activity seemed to have overheated the egg, as it lay there twitching. MJ dried it, then tried to cool it down. "Argentum Siccus! Argentum Frigidus!" Her cooling charm must've been a little overdone, as the egg now seemed to shiver. MJ rolled her eyes, and cast "Argentum Calidus!" with an exasperated sigh. "Happy now?" She said to it. It snuggled into her lap again. The girl turned to her owl and said "Your turn Avis...?" The bird flew to her, hooting in delight.

Pulling Ally out of her pocket, she didn't seem to be acting naughty, so Elise polished her with an "Excolo," her wand sweeping over the surface of the egg. It instantly emitted the same silvery glow. Grinning, Elise tried an experiment.
"Argentum Calidus!" she cast, her wand doing the movements quickly and precisely. Ally twitched uncomfortably, emitting a slight heat and a faint red aura.
Noticing the egg's discomfort, Elise quickly cast the counter. "Argentum Frigidus." And Ally was back to normal!
