Universal Studios Hollywood announced that the grand opening red carpet event for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will take place on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, with cast and special guests to appear. This will take place two days before the official opening of the attraction in Los Angeles, on April 7.

On Tuesday, April 5, Universal Studios Hollywood will host a red carpet event for the eagerly-awaited arrival of “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™.” This exciting VIP premiere will feature red carpet arrivals and a highly visual celebratory moment to mark the West Coast debut of this dynamic immersive land.
The event is scheduled to take place around 6:30pm PST and in Universal Studios Hollywood (presumably in or around Hogsmeade village). No word yet on which cast members will attend, or even author J.K. Rowling (who visited Hogsmeade when it opened in Orlando and Osaka previously).
