Whimsic Alley to host Tales of Beedle the Bard midnight gala
 

Whimsic Alley, a Harry Potter themed shop in Southern California, is to hold a midnight gala this week to celebrate the release of Tales of Beedle the Bard. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes to the gala which will involve refreshments, games, contests and ongoing readings from the Harry Potter books.

The party beings December 3rd at 10pm with the book going on sale at midnight.

Across the States many stores have chosen not to hold midnight parties, due to the book being released on a week day. Many shops are holding midnight parties in the UK, with some opting to host day parties.

The press release also indicates that pre-order figures imply that the book will be an instant best-seller.

Midnight parties will also be hosted in the Philippines at the Powerbooks Greenbelt and Alabang Town Center.

Tales of Beedle the Bard releases on December 4th.

We need these kind of things in Aus.

That is so cool and it is great to see that people are still in the HP spirit to go out at midnight for the book. It is a bummer though because I can't go a) because it is pretty far and b) it a school night so I am not going anywhere as devoted as I am to the books. I hope that the people that can make it have a great time though!

I've been meaning to head to Whimsic Alley for years, I will have to make a trip there soon! Maybe the next book will come out during the summer and I can make a trip out there and finally join in on all of this fun!

I'm going to Barnes and Noble tomorrow to see if their having a midnight release party. If they are, I'll be there to party with my fellow Potter fanatics!
