Videos: Rupert Grint talks watching Cherrybomb love scenes with his parents

In the midst of promoting his upcoming feature, Cherrybomb, Rupert Grint revealed the rather awkward situation he lived through one day whilst watching the film at home with his parents, Nigel and Jo Grint. It was especially uncomfortable when the love scenes involving Rupert's character, Malachy, came on screen.

Quote:

“Filming it was a really nerve-wracking experience but the worst bit was watching it with my parents,” he confesses.

“It was agonising. The scene’s quite tastefully done but it’s not the sort of moment you really want to share with your mum and dad. When the scene arrived we all sat there not really saying anything. Afterwards nobody talked about it, which was kind of a relief.”
Rupert also mentioned that he had no desire to rebel during his adolescence, and credited the Harry Potter series and the fame he'd achieved from it for keeping him grounded.

Quote:

“Basically, I was starring in the Potter films, earning a good salary and being recognised in the street – who’d want to rebel against that?” he quips.

“I know some people are going to criticise the use of drugs in the film but, as I get older, I’m naturally going to do more of these adult roles.”
He also mentioned an incident when he and Harry Potter costars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson were offered roles in an adaptation of The Wizard of Oz.

Quote:

He reveals: “At the moment I’m being offered a weird variety of roles. I remember once me, Daniel and Emma were offered parts in an Australian remake of The Wizard Of Oz. They wanted me as the Scarecrow, Emma was going to be Dorothy and Dan the Tin Man. I don’t know what happened to that.”
The interview implied that Rupert has no projects this summer after the series is complete and his casting as Eddie the Eagle has not been confirmed.

Quote:

“Eddie The Eagle actually jumped the year I was born so I have no memory of him at all although my family have always talked about him. It’s quite amazing what he did.

“If I get the part, I’m not sure how I’ll do the jumps, I’ve never skied in my life – but that might be a benefit.”

But for now, Rupert is looking forward to a carefree summer off, riding around in his ice-cream van. He says excitedly: “I’ve just had it all done up because when I got it, it was a bit rough.
Rupert and costar Robert Sheehan also talked about the film with Hecklerspray.

Although Rupert and Rob were answering the same questions about Cherrybomb, the interviewer took the plunge and asked the two if they preferred, "Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson?" Rupert's rather diplomatic answer can be seen in the second video.

Wow sounds great. I'm sure if I had to watch my self do things my parents would otherwise prohibit me from doing on the big-screen it would be embarrasing. Anyways congratulations on the influence the films have had on you Rup! ^_^
