Videos: Daniel Radcliffe's Empire Hero award speech, talks Frankenstein, Oscars
Daniel Radcliffe received the Empire Hero award this weekend at the 2013 Empire Film Awards, and the Harry Potter actor's acceptance speech can be seen here.
After winning the Empire Hero award, Dan chatted with press about his thoughts of ever winning an Academy Award, his upcoming London production of The Cripple of Inishmaan, and portraying Igor in a new adaptation of Frankenstein later this year.
Quote:
‘I don’t think (I’ll get an Oscar), no,’ admitted the self-deprecating British actor as he embarks on a film world without his wand.
‘I don’t think anybody takes a part and says “I’m going to get an Oscar for this” if you do that there’s something quite wrong with you,’ he said after recently tackling the role of gay poet Allen Ginsberg in new flick Kill Your Darlings.
‘It’s not something that’s even crossing my mind to be honest, I mean if it happened it would be incredible!’
‘I do (the roles) because I love the people I get to work with and the stories I’m telling,’ he explained at the Grosvenor House hotel bash.
Well, he was a little disappointed when Deathly Hallows part 2 lost to Hugo, but that is understandable. I watched Hugo, it was fine, but just a silly kids movie.
