Universal Orlando Resort's The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley received a new honour at this weekend's Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) summit's awards show, called the Paragon Award, and the team behind the attraction gave a bit of a hint of what's to come at Universal Studios Hollywood next year, when the Harry Potter attraction opens there around summer 2016.
During a panel chat on Friday evening, before the Thea Awards took place, a little
teaser came from what could be expected at Hollywood, including if there may be a bit of Diagon Alley there.
Quote:
“You will see some of it,” said Thierry Coup, senior vice president of Universal Creative. “You’ll probably start seeing a castle as we speak.”
Currently, photos have shown Hogsmeade Village and Hogwarts Castle constructed at Universal Studios Hollywood. No word came, prior to this weekend, if any part of the new Diagon Alley expansion would be seen there.
The Paragon Award was given specifically to Diagon Alley, as it "recognizes the entire land, integrated retail and food and beverage, and the Hogwarts Express, in addition to the wand technology." The photo above shows Coup and numerous Universal executives at the summit awards, which took place this weekend in Burbank, Calif.
Many congratulations to the team on the well-deserved award.
