| | |  Tales of Beedle the Bard now available to purchase (UPDATE #2)
Amazon have today announced that The Tales of Beedle the Bard, a limited edition book of wizarding fairy tales they bought at auction, will now be printed and sold.
From today fans can pre-order the book which comes in two forms; a collector's edition hardcover and a standard edition. The collector's edition is available for $100/£50 and the standard edition is available for $7.79/£3.99.
The collector's edition, which you can see pictures of here looks very similar to the actual book.  Quote:
Amazon’s special edition pays homage to the design of the handcrafted original Beedle, right down to the bonded leather binding, the metalwork and the replica gemstones! Featuring a unique book-within-a-book design, the “The Tales of Beedle the Bard” is tucked inside a case crafted to look like a wizarding textbook straight from Hogwarts library. The Collector’s Edition also showcases 10 new illustrations by J.K. Rowling herself, not included in the original or standard edition. After exploring this outer portion, readers can enjoy a personal copy of Beedle, enclosed within a red velvet bag embroidered with J.K. Rowling’s signature.

The books are being published by The Children’s High Level Group with all net proceeds going to the charity.

The new edition will include the Tales themselves, translated from the original runes by Hermione Granger, and with illustrations by me, but also notes by Professor Albus Dumbledore, which appear by generous permission of the Hogwarts Headmasters' Archive.' 'Dumbledore's commentary on the Tales, which was discovered among his papers after his death, includes some historical notes, personal reminiscences, and insights into that most mysterious branch of magic: wandlore. I very much hope that readers coming to these classic wizarding fables for the first time will find his commentary both entertaining and helpful.
UPDATE #2: According to Magical-Menagerie the book will be 128 pages long.  | |
