Potter Festival at Carlyle library

A library in Carlyle is said to be hosting a Potter festival to celebrate the release of the new Potter film and book on July 7th 2007. They believe that the Potter books have successfully encouraged children to start reading again.

Sharon Berdeaux said the festival is planned to precede the release of the last of seven books in the Potter series on July 21 and the release of the fifth Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," on July 13.

She said the Potter series has encouraged children to start reading again, and the library hopes to capitalize on this popularity.

There will also be live owls who will fly around the site, weather permitting

it's true Harry Potter does make kids start reading, i used to hate reading until i read harry potter.

I agree....they are what made me start reading again.....

Wow! Sounds like a blast! I definately believe they encouraged many kids to read again! the owls sound cool too! Hope other countries catch on and do similar things!!
