Dont worry no spoilers! Article:
Thanks to Page at DR.co.uk for this cool POA Review Quote: First of all, let me just say, I won't give away specific details regarding the film here, as I would not want to spoil it for the millions of fans who cannot see it until June 4th or thereafter. The "experience" of being at a World Premiere is amazing, but I can assure you that it's not for that reason that Prisoner of Azkaban has become my favorite film of the three. But compared to the first two films, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, this third installment, Prisoner of Azkaban is by far my favorite now, hands down! I was partial to the first film for sentimental reasons, and even when Chamber of Secrets came out, I was still feeling that the first film was my favorite of those two. That all changed for me today.
Prisoner of Azkaban is by far the most dramatic of the three films. There is an obvious difference in direction which sets it apart from the first two films. Alfonso has placed his own personal style in this film and let me just say, he did an absolutely fantastic job! I commend him because this film is the most amazing of the three and it is very apparent that this film's style is far different from the first two. Not only is it far more dramatic than the first two, it also has Harry expressing a wide range of emotions as well from crying to anger! Dan's performance in this film is very polished, and very precise. It is clearly obvious how much he has become experienced in this role and with his acting skills overall. You can tell that Dan had a good time while filming this one, and he is completely comfortable in this role now.
A couple of the scenes which particularly moved me though was the scene in which Harry flies Buckbeak. I was very moved by it, had chills running down my back, and almost wanted to cry tears of joy for Harry's character who screams with happiness while atop Buckbeak. It was at that early point in which Dan really shows just how confident he is in "Harry's" role. The Shrieking Shack scene is filled with drama, along with so many talented, experienced actors, David Thewlis, Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman, and I cannot even describe to you how amazing that scene is with all three of them at the height of their expertise. And while there is much emotion and drama exhibited during that scene, Dan also exhibits very strong emotions as well, and it is very apparent that he learned from them. Dan's talent was well matched against the older experienced actors in my opinion.
There's far more action in this film as well, of course the Quidditch scene is amazing. It's wet, it's "macho", and he flies farther and higher trying to catch the snitch, but there's trouble in the air...you'll see. There's also great action in the scenes between Lupin and Sirius Black when Lupin changes into the werewolf and Sirius by "Animagus" into his transformed animal. The whole "Time Turner" scene was very cleverly filmed taking Harry and Hermione back in time to change the past and Buckbeak's fate which I was so happy about! I have to tell you though, the "prize" moment in the theater was when Hermione punches Malfoy! The audience went wild and clapped! Hermione's (Emma Watson) character is really reflected in this film as well, and I think we're going to look forward to great things from Emma Watson in the future and she is sure to become a "star quality" actress.
All of the actors performances are much more perfected in this film, Matthew Lewis, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Tom Felton, and definitely Dan. Another scene which really, really had an affect on me was the scene whereby Sirius is injured by Lupin's werewolf character. Sirius and Harry make way to a nearby river, and out of nowhere tons of dementors show up. I won't go into much detail, but I found this whole "soul sucking" scene to be somewhat disturbing, it was very emotional. There are so many "touching" moments in this film whereby Harry reminisces about his parents and in this film he really misses them. There's so much more I could tell you, but like I said, I don't want to spoil it for you. I will tell you, however, that the very ending of this film is one awesome ride!!! All I can say? Is that Dan completely ROCKED in this film! And I cannot wait to see great things from him in the future, even beyond Harry! Congratulations to Alfonso Cauron for delivering such an awesome film, you're style really set it apart from the others and took our whole Harry Potter experience to a new level. Well done! Everything I've seen so far looks fantastic. It really looks like the darker, more dramatic feel of Prisoner has been captured. I'm sure the fantasy and sharp wit will be there, too. Can't wait to see it.
