Order of the Phoenix Hermione body double speaks

Charlotte Hunter, a 26 year old actress who worked as a body double for Hermione Granger in Order of the Phoenix, has spoken about her experiences on set.

But then I got an audition to be Hermione's double. At first I thought: 'Loads of people are going for that. I will never get it. But I was persuaded to try for it even though I left the house saying: 'I don't even look like Hermoine Granger.' But to my amazement I landed the job. I happened to be the right size, shape, height, hair colour and they liked the way I worked and so I got that job and it meant that I had to say goodbye to the modelling. I was working without a safety net, so to speak, but I was finally at where I wanted to be - a full-time actor.”

She said that working on a big budget Hollywood movie was an eye-opening experience. “Because the rules governing children's working hours are so strict it means that whenever Daniel (Radcliffe), Emma (Watson) or Rupert (Grint) are on set they want to use them - so it's all close ups and shots where you can see their faces.

“When they are done it's back to the school work and my fellow doubles and I are used for long shots and cut aways. If you see Hermoine's legs running along somewhere or a pair of hands picking up a wand or a quill then they are probably mine.”

She was subsequently asked to return for Half-Blood Prince.

Thats pretty cool!!!! But then again not... i think its kindof depressing being to double. I mean, you work hard and do stuff and act your best or whatever, but you dont get recognized for it

yea, and i knew about the doubles. and learned about them insummer 06. i was watching the behind the scenes for goblet of fire on the DVD and they were shooting the doubles and stuff behind the scenes..and they talked about them a little

Doubles??? What does that mean?

Doubles means if there is anything the actor cant do then some one who looks like them steps in to do the job like fighting scenes, or if they are been thrown in the air instead of the actors getting hurt, trained people called "doubles do it for them instead "

I wouldnt mind the job - do the same type of work with same type of money but have none of the fame - weird they do leg and hand shots though

Doubles? They use them? I mean, I knew there was one for Dan because there was something about the about 6 months ago, but I thought only he need one

Body doubles are around for lighting, setting up cameras and also when the shots don't show the characters faces.

Of course they do, but their time on set is limited, so it's more important to get close ups than hand shots with the talent.
