Summary:
Muggle Version of Magical Sport

Article:

Muggle version of Quidditch a great success

Mugglenet has this article about two libraries that faced each other in a muggle version of Quidditch, attracting a sizable crowd. The Fitchburg Finches from Massachusetts defeated the Sweetwater All Stars from Texas, 170-20, with the Golden snitch being caught at 20-20. The article says this on how the game was played:

Quidditch is basically three games rolled into one. The keeper, like the goalie in soccer, tries to stop the quaffle (ball) from going into the goal line. The chasers are players somewhat like forwards in hockey -- they are primarily used to shoot on goal to score points for the team. The chasers are protected by beaters, and the seekers try to catch the snitches. Catching the snitch awards the team 150 points and ends the game.

In Britain we have football..americans call it soccer.
In Britain we call your football 'american football'
The british only uses the word 'soccer' when explaining the differences between football and american football to americans

That is dumb and stupid why would anyone play an sport that is supose to be on an broom but it is on land. There is no action in that it is just like any other sport (muggle ofcourse) Also i must saw that if it so happened that they was to make quidditch an real sport they would need brooms on jet backs and the quaffle to be actually controlled by an remote. So like i am going to say that is highly impossible. Ok don't make something in the WIZARDING WORLD SO BID DON"T TAKE THE JOY OUT OF READING A BOOK
bye the way how does this sound ( i am gonna go watch people fly on an broom and try to catch balls in the air can you say Circus

well, i dont think its stupid at all, i'd love to try out 'muggle quidditch'

but i suppose i can understand that people who aren't as obsessed with hp as i am would think it's a dumb idea

I agree with you rovie, it sounds like great fun... wouldn't mind having a go myself

Nobody's saying it's propper quidditch as Lilbitmore said, that's not possible (well at least I think that's what she was saying ) But I've thought that the elements of quidditch would make a fab game ever since the first time i read the books and I sincerly hope it catches on... mabe it could be a new olympic sport. lol!

Would like to know what they used for a snitch though

Actually, I think it may be. My boyfriend, who happens to know quite a bit about games and the like, read somewhere that there are plans for a stadium like building, which, like air hockey, that you play in arcades, has holes in the ground that pump air.

The only other things needed would be jetpacks, which are easy enough to make.

It sounds very... strange. I have no clue how that would work, really. Maybe the snitch is symbolized by a guy running around in a yellow suit? Heheheheh. That'd be great. In that case, they SHOULD have bludgers. Hahaha.
Really, I wanna know how this works. I need details, people! Sounds very interesting!
I wanna play!
