Michael Goldenberg on Harry Potter

Ten years ago, Michael Goldenberg wrote a five-page scene for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It was simply for himself, to see how he liked writing it. He later sent it to producer David Heyman, thinking it could perhaps help with the movie in one way or another. Goldenberg wasn’t screenwriter for the first Harry Potter, nor the second, third or fourth, but that five-page scene eventually led to him becoming screenwriter for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Creative Screenwriting magazine recently released an article in which we learn more about Michael Goldenberg as well as his views about the Harry Potter books, and of course, the movies:

Michael Goldenberg finds himself very lucky to have had the opportunity to be screenwriter for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. He adds that he feels better suited for this movie than for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
