'Fantastic Beasts' global fan event with cast interviews, new clips & poster
The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them global fan event is running live now, with stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, director David Yates and producer David Heyman in London, and Colin Farrell and Jon Voight in Los Angeles.
During the panel, the cast will take fan questions, discuss the movie out this November 18th, and reveal new clips and scenes from the first Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie. All of that can be viewed right here, and highlights will be updated as the stream runs on. The fan event will take up to an hour at most, after which those in the U.S. theaters can remain to watch the IMAX debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
• Eddie Redmayne loves how passionate Newt Scamander is about his magical creatures, and that's he identifies with him in that he becomes focused onto that one thing, to the point of being myopic.
• Katherine Waterston identifies with Tina Goldstein in that there's a lot of potential and a lot to give, but hasn't worked out how to express it professionally (for her as an actor, and Tina as an Auror).
• Dan Fogler is like Jacob in that he's being introduced into this magical world and is in total awe of it, and also has the connection in that his great-great grandfather was a baker in Manhattan just as Jacob is.
• Colin Farrell sees a lot of justice and injustice with Graves, and that's what he found as having in common, as well as how driven and handy with a wand he is.
• Jon Voight said he was sad to play a No-Maj with Shaw, but identified with his being a father.
• David Heyman and David Heyman were overjoyed to work directly with J.K. Rowling on the script, and praised her for her pragmatism and work ethics, as well as being open and understanding with edits.
• Yates confirms that Grindelwald has a much larger role in the series going forward.
• The second movie will take place in another large city again, said Yates and Heyman, and that no one else has read the scripts but them (including the cast).
• J.K. ROWLING HAS ARRIVED!
Warner Bros. also released a fan event-special poster for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them with characters Newt Scamander, Tina and Queenie Goldstein, Jacob Kowalski, MACUSA President Seraphina Picquery, Mary Lou and Credence Barebone, and Percival Graves, displayed around a New York City backdrop.
