J.K. Rowling discussed her current and future projects in a new interview with
BBC Radio 2's Book Club with Simon Mayo on Monday, confirming that she's written part of a children's story already, and that she's already working on the fourth installment of the Cormoran Strike series.
The author participated in the interview to promote the release of
Career of Evil, and said she would continue to write stories in the Strike series as long as a compelling relationship between the two lead characters existed.
Rowling also commented about the upcoming
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child plays, and that she had the idea of the post-epilogue story all along, but admitted she'd never write it as a book. The creative team behind the play, including director John Tiffany, playwright Jack Thorne, and producers Colin Callender and Sonia Friedman were to thank for part eight of the Harry Potter series coming to life.
The full interview (which starts an hour in) can be listened to

Quote:
J.K. Rowling on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: "It is really exciting. I always said I’m not going to say never because there were things I had in my head about what happened 19 years later. I personally had no particular desire to write it as a novel for reasons I think will become clear when people see the play.
"I’ll just say that this play would never have happened if this particular team hadn’t come to me because they’re extraordinary and I think together we’re going to make a really fantastic experience for people. But it was the people, I didn’t go looking for this, it found me."

J.K. Rowling: "I have an idea for a children's book, actually I have written part of a children's book that I really love, so I'm definitely going to finish that. There will be another children's book."
"I’m not going to give you an absolute date because things are busy and I’ve been writing a screenplay as well for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them which has been a lot of fun so I’m very busy but I’d definitely write more novels as J.K. Rowling – novels in the plural, I have so many ideas."
"I sometimes worry I’ll die before I’ve written them all out. That’s my midlife crisis – that I will leave this earth without having written them all."
